The Messenger of Death - Chapter 349: alexander's karma iv
While moving through the forest, many unfortunate things happened to Al. He unintentionally slipped off Milo, more than once, and even when Milo attempted to stop a vine from flogging Al, he mistakenly hit Al instead.
At some point, Sakura couldn’t hold her laughter and burst out laughing at Al when something unfortunate happened to him. She felt no pity for someone that she didn’t know, and despite not having evil intentions for him Sakura didn’t like Al’s attitude at all.
Al threw some glares at her whenever she laughed at his predicament. The only person that had been helping him and keeping him safe from some of the dangers was Argus. He was true to his work of protecting, Al. “What the hell is your use here!? If you are not going to protect me from anything then go ahead and look for some tokens to help your sorry ass.” Al bellowed at Sakura.
“Careful with what you say now, remember that you can mistakenly bite your tongue off and swallow it,” Sakura replied playfully. “And who says that I’m not protecting you from anything? How can a blind man tell what he can’t see?”
“Same way that I can tell that your chest is naturally flat!” Al spat out, somehow, Sakura was slowly beating him at his own game of frustrating people.
“Haha, now body shaming me isn’t going to work because I am aware of myself and I love my body. Also, just to put it out there, I had to tie my burst to match my new identity.”
“And you couldn’t find a different trouser to wear, you just had to put something that will let your ass pop out-”
-Pat!
Wet sand suddenly hit Al’s face.
“Now that’s a new one.” Sakura began laughing.
Al clenched his jaw and his whole face lit on fire, hardening the mud on his face. “I’ve had it with this forest! Sunset’s fireflies!” He called out and a ball of fire condensed in front of him.
The ball of fire then broke down into little balls, resembling fireflies. Al controlled these little ‘fireflies’ and sent them to the forestry ahead of him.
-Boom!!
An explosion happened when let his technique detonate. The ‘fireflies’ enveloped most of the trees ahead of him, not leaving any tree as far as his eyes could see.
Sakura sucked her breathe at the heat she felt coming from the burning wood. Sweat gathered on her forehead as she took shelter from the heat behind Al and Milo. If her cultivation hadn’t been sealed by the wristband, dropping her to the Disaster realm, she wouldn’t have taken cover behind Al.
“Doing that is also useless… You see, the forest can regenerate quickly.” Mr. Guardian revealed.
“No offense, but are you trying to kill me in secret?” Al asked.
“Would I have to do it in secret if I wanted to do that?” Mr. Guardian answered playfully.
“Point taken… Can I ask another question, Mr. Guardian?” Al said and he continued to make his way to where the Midas petal is.
“Go ahead,”
“These tokens that you were talking about, do they release some kind of energy like that of the Midas petal?” Al questioned.
“Why don’t you try finding out with that special method of yours?” Mr. Guardian replied. He replied this way because he couldn’t give a direct answer to Al. It could be seen as interfering with the convergence of Karma invoked here.
“System, apart from the Midas petal, is there any energy source on this island?”
*Ping!
*Only the recorded energy of the Midas petal is showing on the system’s radar. Is the user referring to this unknown Star-zone as an ‘Island’ or the unknown Star-zone is called ‘Island’?
The system asked.
[‘Unknown Star-zone? So we are in space right now?’] Alex said.
[‘Yeah, no shit Sherlock homeboy! What do you think Mr. Guardian was talking about when he said that we are now in the vast and infinite void!?’] Al retorted.
“We are currently searching for the Midas petal in an artificial space, within an unknown Star-zone.”
“Your treasure is even more amazing than I imagined. It pierced through all of this, the artificial space, and could tell that we are in a Star-zone.” Mr. Guardian said.
[‘More like the technology is not advanced enough to process what you made and it is only able to see all of this in its basic form.’] Al thought.
[‘No wonder the system couldn’t calculate the distance accurately and placed the distance as unknown.’] Alex mentioned.
“It can’t find anything apart from the petal at the moment,” Al said to Mr. Guardian.
“It won’t be able to able to find anything because some of the tokens are just illusionary objects of my comprehension that can affect the state of one’s reality. In other words, a bit of what I have comprehended will help them to breakthrough effortlessly.” Mr. Guardian explained.
“You said some, what about the rest that isn’t?”
“The tokens that aren’t a product of my comprehension are the gold ones. Although they are still illusionary, and can also affect the state of reality. But it is dependent on Karma, do you remember the golden wisp that I left with you the first time that we met?”
“Yeah, I do,” Al replied.
“Didn’t it take you to what you needed the most?” Mr. Guardian asked.
A realization hit Al, “Yeah it did, I would have died if not for the golden wisp.” He answered.
“Exactly, while it can also lead people to what they desire the most it can also take you to what you need the most. I cannot affect which of the options it will lead an individual to, but most of it will depend on which will be more crucial to the individual in question.”
“Now I understand. And I can also tell that your abilities are far beyond what I imagined.” Al mentioned.
“Hahaha, while my ability is special and rare, it has its downsides that put me through a lot of trouble during my younger days.” Mr. Guardian uttered.
Argus and Sakura had just been quietly listening to Mr. Guardian and Al converse. From the conversations that the two of them were having, Argus and Sakura were learning a lot. The information that they got from this conversation itself was priceless.
They didn’t know who or what a Sovereign is, but after listening and making their own calculated deductions, they found out that Sovereigns were above the 3 plain realms and that it was a cultivation realm in its self.
And also, Argus was able to find out a few things about Alexander. For example, the ‘treasure’ that he has with him that can track a legendary Midas petal. This was a big deal to him, and to Sakura too, if a treasure like this exists, if they could also get their hands on something like this it will change their lives forever.
While Al was steadily progressing towards the Midas petal and chatting with Mr. Guardian, the trees around him had already regrown to his height, and although they weren’t as tall as they were previously, the trees were quickly getting there.
-Boom!
A huge bark of a tree flew towards Al. The eye-catching thing about this bark is its shape, it was shaped like a blade and was heading for Al’s chest.
-Thud!
Milo used one of his paws to block it, saving Al from being impaled. Milo made a purring sound, asking Al if he did well.
“Of course you did well, you are a good boy. Just don’t bitch slap me like you did the last time,” Al praised Milo and rub his head.
“There’s a fight going on there,” Al revealed. He could at least sense this much. “The 3 of them there are all Disaster realm cultivators, let’s go say hello,” Al said mischievously.
[‘If there is a fight there, then there might be something worth fighting for over there. Maybe I don’t need to be the one to search for the tokens by myself, but rather, follow those that are likely to get tokens and steal it from them.’] Al thought excitedly.
Milo shot in the direction of where the battle was happening. Sakura and Argus did the same thing, they were thinking of the same thing Al was thinking off.
Even Al was sure that they all had the same thoughts, but he wasn’t worried about any of them beating him to anything because he had Milo who is always a cultivation realm ahead of him.
In seconds, they reached the site of the battle. One of the 3 individuals fighting here is Midas seed carrier, and he was beating the non-seed carriers up. Al then looked behind them and saw the carcass of an elephant-looking monster, he ignored the monster and looked past it. On the air there, a red token floated majestically.
“Damn, I might be one unlucky boy, but I am a lucky thief.” Al chuckled. “Go get the token for me, Milo.” Al wasn’t worried that the token would be absorbed by Milo, he would even be glad if he could absorb it. He just didn’t want to approach the token himself because he was scared that it would permanently reduce his cultivation realm…
