The Messenger of Death - Chapter 358: echoed presence
-Bawnn!
Every wave of sound within 15 kilometers concentrated on Adrian and exploded.
This explosion caused the water ball in front of him to deform before losing its structure completely, flushing out everyone that was in the Water World, including Camron and Gustavo.
Nobody on the battle ring had enough time to properly react to Adrian’s skill and were all shaken by the explosion, both in and out of their bodies. While flying away due to the shock wave, all of them vomited a mouth full of blood.
Drake who was off the stage was quick enough to react before the shockwave of the explosion could reach him and the girls. He quickly placed his hands on the ground and circulated his QI, making an arched stone wall appear in front of him. And although he was quick, his stone wall couldn’t keep its form and began cracking under the pressure coming from the shockwave. Until Emma assisted Drake by providing more QI for him.
Only then did his stone wall stabilize and protect them from the shockwave.
Most of the audiences had started bleeding from their ears and could only hear a ringing sound, some of them were dizzy, only a few were able to properly protect themselves from Adrian’s skill.
Adrian, with wide eyes, looked at the result of his skill. Although he had practiced this move back at the bunker with Alex after Alex told everyone that they needed to come up with trump cards of their own and told them how much it will help them in battles.
Since he came up with the idea of Echoed Presence, it was never this exaggerated. Alex did tell him that in the right place and with the amplification, this skill will be one to reckon with.
The whole idea of the skill is to absorb the waves of sound surrounding him and keep the waves locked in his body, and after he had accumulated enough, he would amplify the waves he absorbed with his QI and let it out all at once. Maybe because the waves of sound that he had absorbed here were stronger than the ones he absorbed during training or because he attempted to activate the skill under pressure.
Either way, Adrian was uncertain of why he was able to make his skill bring out such a result. He very much doubted his chances of achieving the same thing any time soon.
The referee that had been officiating the battle had been up in the air, and even he was affected by the shockwave, albeit a little bit. All he had to go through was a blocked ear and a short session of ringing in his ears.
When he looked down on the stage once again, the referee saw several rings of craters that had appeared on the stage with Adrian in the middle. Everyone else had been thrown off, so according to the rules of the competition, the Seraphim team had won this match.
“The Seraphim team wins!!” The referee announced. Only a few people could properly hear what the referee said while the rest were still trying to get themselves.
Some of them looked at Adrian in awe and reverence, they never thought that his ability could be used in such a way.
“Woo!! You did great Adrian!!” Drake cheered. He had dismantled his stone wall and started clapping for Adrian. Katherine and Emma had left to check on Camron and Gustavo.
Adrian turned and saw Drake clapping for him, he flashed an awkward smile at him as he started walking off the stage, also going to where Camron and Gustavo had been thrown to.
“Best fight yet!!!” A part of the crowd began cheering and their loud voices filled the arena once again.
…
On the Celestial Plain Realm. In the Claus clan’s territory, a good-looking lady – well dressed with her brown hair tied into a perfect bun and silver hairpin to hold her hair in place, walked slowly and stopped in front of a huge door.
She had a ghost smile on her lips. This lady then glanced at the two guards that were standing by each side of the door. The two guards bowed at her before pushing the door open for her.
Stepping into the room behind this huge door, a deep masculine voice rang out, “Natalia, do you realize what you have done?” The voice asked.
Looking at the person that was speaking, Nana resisted the urge to snort at her father. “Well, good evening Father, Mother,” She greeted calmly, ignoring the question that her father asked.
Nana’s mother smiled at her and responded with a nod, while her father continued to glare at her. “Wow, so much for my greeting,” Nana muttered after a while, unaffected by her father’s glare. Nana looked more like her father, both sharing the same color of hair and color of eyes.
Her mother’s hair is black, but she possessed the same brown pair of eyes as her husband and daughter.
“What have I done now, Father?” Nana feigned ignorance.
Of course, Nana knew what she had done. She arbitrarily broke into her Clan’s treasury and took out an important item that represented her clan, and then she unhesitatingly gave it to an outsider. Her Father was obviously referring to the Hairpin that Nana is meant to give to the person she is going to marry.
“Don’t play games with me young woman! Do you know what you have done!?” Her father asked again, only this time, his voice was louder.
Nana rolled her eyes at her father’s attempt to intimidate her. She then took a glance at the elders that were seated at different parts of the room. Her father and mother’s chairs were placed in the middle of this room.
‘It’s been a while since I was called here. If I’m not mistaken, about 11 years now.’ Nana tried to recall, not even giving her father the attention and seriousness he required from her.
These elders of the Claus clan were looking at Nana with disdain in their eyes, but they could only do so safely because Nana’s parents were here. On a normal day, if they dared to glare at her, she would use it as an excuse to bully them.
And just because she is stronger than most of them, it was an easy thing for her to accomplish. Nana has been a bane and comical character to most of the people of her clan. The main reasons why she could go unpunished after doing something wrong were because her parents were the current patriarch of their clan, and also because Nana herself is a cultivation genius. At the young age of 40, she had already made it to the first rank of the Emperor Cultivation realm.
Compared to Grace who is hundreds of years older than Nana and also in the Emperor Cultivation realm, albeit the late stage of the realm.
Even her great-grandfather had said that Nana might be the first in her clan to transcend the 3 Plain realms in thousands of years after the creation of their clan. She had the potential but lacked the drive to do so.
Most from amongst her generation would not dare to claim that they were geniuses in front of Nana. If only she could take cultivating seriously, she might have already made it to the Immortal Cultivation realm.
However, Nana preferred to roam around and do as she pleased.
Seeing that his daughter wasn’t even paying attention and letting her mind wander, Darrel released the oppressive might of his cultivation realm.
In the presence of such might, it was as if space began twisting as the entire building shook. The ground beneath Darrel’s chair had ripples on it, the same way ripples would appear on the surface of still water when disturbed.
Nana frowned at her father and released her cultivation might, to protect herself from the pressure she was facing from her father. And although what she did couldn’t completely relieve her from the pressure, it gave her a little space to retain her stubborn demeanor.
Upon releasing her cultivation might Nana revealed that she had broken through from the first rank of the Emperor Cultivation realm and made it to the second rank.
“Darrel,” Daniella, Nana’s mother called out to her husband when she noticed this. “She’s made it to the second rank,” She pointed out.
“What?” Darrel noticed this as soon as his wife pointed it out. He was surprised to see this. Nana had sworn the last time that she was called to this room that she wasn’t going to cultivate until her father apologized to her for attempting to marry her off to someone that she didn’t like or care for.
And just like his daughter, Darrel was also stubborn and sometimes can be as unreasonable as his daughter, so he refused to apologize to her.
Slowly, he started to retract his aura, subsequently returning the room to its previous state. “Natalia, did you get into some kind of trouble?” Darrel asked, well aware of his daughter’s attitude and knew that it was rare for her to go against her word, especially when it involved him.
And because she had been in the Lower Plain realm for some time, it was hard for her father to believe that she broke through mistakenly. So that can only mean that Nana cultivated and broke through on purpose.
“Hmph! What can possibly trouble me in the Lower Plain realm if it’s not my disciple!?” Nana snorted after giving her father a response…
