The Messenger of Death - Chapter 365: CAUTION IN THE WIND
As beads of perspiration baptized every part of Al’s upper body, he began feeling nervous. Way more than he had ever been.
The pressure that Alex and his alternate personalities had put on themselves to attain the Midas petal at any cost necessary is what is making Al nervous. Furthermore, his situation with Karma did nothing but increase the pressure on him both mentally and physically.
Al couldn’t tell if he still had any more good Karma that could assist him in dire situations, although the white bead on his bracelet was still there, it didn’t mean that it was going to help him in this situation, it might be something that will come back to him in the far future.
With a bracelet of beads that proves that he had a surplus of bad Karma, Al couldn’t help but be pessimistic about his situation. He started considering throwing caution into the wind and activating his innate bloodline. Al was aware that the Dragnel bloodline couldn’t do much for him in this situation… it was more of an instinct to him.
Al could feel it in him that the Dragnel bloodlines were being suppressed by a power he couldn’t fathom.
While having the thought of activating his innate bloodline at the back of his mind, Al glanced at the time interface on the Skin crawler.
“2 minutes left till the estimated time.” He muttered.
He was referring to the estimated time that it would take the fastest competitor to arrive here. with every second that passed, Al’s body got heavier as if it was being filled with lead and mercury. The QI in his core could only last him a few more seconds and whenever he tried to absorb more from his surroundings, it didn’t work.
The QI around this part rejected Al.
[‘Fuck it,’] Al finally gave in to his dangerous idea.
[‘Wait, what are you about…”] Before Alex could complete his sentence Al activated their innate bloodline and because of that he couldn’t hear the rest of what Alex uttered.
The moment Al released the mental restraint on the innate bloodline, the innate bloodline QI exploded out and in a mere millisecond, it reached every atom in Al’s body.
And in a second, Al experienced a type of intoxication that he had never felt before. With the activation of the innate bloodline, to Al, it was as though every vein in his body had a heart of its own. As though there were worlds within him and all of them were revolved around him. His skin started to itch like a thousand needles were being inserted into every part of his body, a thousand times.
An unbelievable aura exploded out of Al and covered a distance of a kilometer. His pupils vibrated in response to this. Al sensed that his body was about to transform and his consciousness was fading slowly.
Before his innate bloodline could cause any more mutation, Al did his best to retain his sanity, forcefully putting that mental restraint on his bloodline QI. However, he didn’t restrain the bloodline QI completely, he allowed a little of its power to leak.
Subsequently, in line with Al’s quick preventive measure, his body stopped mutating. Nevertheless, some parts of his body weren’t the same. For example, his eyes were bloodshot red, his hair had grown longer and with a darker shade of black.
With the aura coming from his innate bloodline QI, the shackles on him shattered. The QI around had no choice but to submit to his will and the bracelet on his wrist crumbled until it turned into dust and disappeared with the wind.
The pressure around him became non-existent and karma couldn’t do anything to affect him presently in this state. Al forced a smile on his face, wanting to laugh too, but it was too hard to control his body as he pleased.
Al could sense that if he didn’t take care he would fall unconscious because the raging power from his innate bloodline was trying to take control.
[‘Al!! what he… wrong… you!?’] Alex’s said. Because of the state, Al is in, it was hard for the voices of the alter egos in his head to reach his mind.
Understanding what Alex wanted to say, Al replied with difficulty. [‘Don’t worry, I won’t be in this state for more than 15 seconds.’] Being well aware of his current spot, he was sure that if he stayed like this for more than 20 seconds he would lose control.
Nonetheless, with nothing stopping his path Al was sure that he could get to the Midas petal in a flash.
He tightened his fist and disappeared from where he was, appearing next to the Midas petal.
The petal in front of Al had an appearance like nothing he was expecting. The first Midas petal that Alexander got looked like the petal of a rose and was red, also, it was as big as a grown man’s head. While the second Midas petal was only similar to the first one in size and nature, its appearance was nothing like it.
The second Midas petal was transparent, like a petal made up of water. However, the petal in front of Al wasn’t even as big as his index finger.
It was no different from a normal almond nut. In fact, Al would have protested that he was being scammed if he couldn’t sense the immense power coming from within the Midas petal, or better, in this case, the almond nut.
Besides, on the Skin crawler, it was indicating that he was in front of the Midas petal.
…
The moment Al’s aura transformed, Mr. Guardian noticed the change. From where he was, he felt threatened by that aura, even if he was just in an astral spirit form.
“This power… it shouldn’t belong to this world.” Mr. Guardian muttered. Even though Mr. Guardian was aware that Alexander came from another galaxy, he was quite certain that the people from the galaxy Al came from, at their strongest, would be comparable to a person that had just started cultivating again.
“Could this ability be the cause of the changes in his cogs of faith?” Mr. Guardian wondered out loud as he scratched his chin. “Obviously Alexander still has some secrets that he doesn’t want to let me know… and that okay… should I ask him about it?” He pondered on this question for a while before shaking his head.
Pushing that thought away from his mind. A person with his type of uniqueness shouldn’t pry into what the universe hasn’t shown to them. If he is meant to know, he will get to know from other sources and not from Alexander.
Of course, Mr. Guardian is oblivious to the fact that Alexander is an abomination as he has no experience with beings like that. They were only a myth to him and many more people. Abominations only appeared 4 times in the history of the world where his main body is and that world has been in existence for over 100 billion years. Those that had come across abominations either died due to external forces or due to the shackles of Karma and time.
Even the ancient god Ogun couldn’t tell that Alexander is an abomination, he was only shocked that someone in the lower plain realm had grasped fundamentals that he couldn’t grasp nor fathom. It was shocking to him, but never did the thought of Alexander being an abomination cross his mind.
So even though Mr. Guardian felt threatened by the aura, he didn’t think that it was something that was outside the restraints of the Heavens.
…
Meanwhile, Al had spent over 3 seconds trying to control himself.
The moment the energy from the Midas petal pervaded his nostrils he could tell that this Midas petal could be used to improve his innate bloodline and even the bloodline could sense that the petal was something good for it. So it boiled and raged harder than it had been doing for the last few seconds.
Because of this, Al could only stare at the petal and not make any movement. He was afraid of doing anything else because he didn’t want to lose control the moment he diverted his attention away from keeping his innate bloodline in check. His only option now is to completely restrain the bloodline QI, but that was also proving difficult to accomplish at the moment.
“You, cant. Control me!!” Al bellowed out and gave his all into restraining every bit of his innate bloodline QI.
After struggling for a few more seconds, Al finally did it. His entire body paled as if he had just lost a huge amount of blood and blood trickled down the sides of his eyes.
Immediately this happened, Al stretched his hand out and caught the almond-sized Midas petal in his palm before falling to the ground.
-Thud!
Al fell on his chest and started breathing in and out rapidly. Beads of perspiration fell off his body and soaked the soil underneath him. “That was risky as fuck.” He uttered quickly as a smile graced his face.
Al quickly sent the Midas petal into his storage ring and the pressure that it had been giving off disappeared with it.
With much difficulty, Al pushed himself up only to end up falling back to the ground. His body had been messed up by his innate bloodline QI.
-Boom! Boom! Boom!
3 explosions echoed out and the beneath Al quacked. A heatwave reached Al where he was and washed over him.
“Oh shit!” Al muttered, clearly aware of what type of flame could create such heat waves from afar.
