The Military System - 10 Counter Attack
The young boy panted as he struggled to stay on his feet. His body lacerated with wounds, the flowing blood had already stained much of the ground under him. Add gazed at the goblins before him, his cold eyes devoid of emotions. Initially, the goblins haphazardly attacked Add, who taking advantage of their errors, killed off many of them. But because of the large number of enemies, he was also inevitably wounded by their weapons and claws. Add’s weapon, the Knife was also chipped here and there.
Luckily the archers could not target him properly in the chaos and the arrows missed him by some margin. But then the goblins watching him slaughter his opponents were alarmed and stepped back, allowing the goblin archers to take clear shot. But Add had been waiting for this moment.
[Ding! You have killed goblin x 15]
[Ding! You have received 500 Exp. and 150 CP!]
[Ding! You have levelled up!]
Coupled with the previous few goblins he had killed while trying to escape, Add now had around 1100 CP. Although he could buy a gun, now, but in this situation a gun would be of little help. Add instantly made a plan, and dodging the arrows coming at him he ordered the system.
“System I want to buy a smoke grenade! One with the largest effect radius!”
[Ding! Type-K11 Smoke grenade. Price 150 CP.]
[Proceed to Buy ? Yes/No]
“Yes damn it!”
The cylindrical grenade appeared in his hand just as an arrow scraped by his arm leaving a gash. Add was gradually feeling weaker due to the blood loss, but ignoring the pain he took a deep breath, pulled the pin and threw it at the goblins. Instantly dense grey smoke covered the area, in the little light of the dusk it made the visibility completely zero. The goblins were shocked from the sudden smoke, and lost their bearings, running around randomly within the smoke. The radius of effect of the K-11 was roughly 10 metres in all directions. The goblin archers on the trees were unable to see anything and as such their arrows had no targets.
Add on the other hand had been in such situations, many times. He kept his eyes open just to the bare minimum, and keeping a low profile began killing any goblins close to him, their confused noises helping him estimate their position.
[Ding! You have killed Goblin × 1!]

By the time the goblins had got their minds straight and managed to rush out of the smoke, many of them had fallen to Add’s attacks. Add’s injuries, however had also been worsened by his forced efforts and the blind attacks of the goblins. He retreated to the cover of a tree and took out two health potions and drank them up in a go. His vitality which had plummeted dangerously low, somewhat stabilised and the wounds began healing. He kept the last health serum he had as reserve. The smoke was quickly dispersing, so he had little time, he looked at his CP and he had 1130 CP now.
He quickly opened the system shop and went for the pistol section. Add had already decided which gun he wanted. His eyes quickly found what he had been looking for and he bought it for 1000 CP. The gun came with a single loaded magazine of 14 rounds. With another 100 CP he bought 4 extra magazines each and they were automatically stored in the inventory. He then looked at the gun in his hand.

There was a particular reason why Add chose this particular weapon. This weapon had seen countless battles, and though there are more destructive pistols available, the M20 was the first choice for the armies of many nations on Earth. During his time as a soldier had had used many pistols, yet this one had left a long lasting impression on him.
“Finally…now lets get out of this mess….”
Add calmed his breath and waited for the remnant smoke to clear. He would have liked to buy a frag-grenade but sadly he was too poor to buy it. As the smoke cleared, the remaining goblins saw that more of their companions had been killed. This caused them to rage up even more. Add was slowly walking towards them his eyes cold and his face devoid of any emotion. The sun had set, and the last vestiges of light were now dying. Add’s silhouette looked lone some, yet to the goblins he somehow seemed…..dreadful , the goblin archers perching on the trees knocked their bows and prepared to shoot.
*Bang*
A light flashed in the dark forest, and a goblin archer’s head burst and it’s body dropped from the tree. Before the others could react, four more fell in a similar way. Goblin bodies had no notable defence and the force of a .45 bullet was too much. The other goblins seemed confused at the sudden and strange deaths, and they looked closely at Add. He was holding a strange object which was giving of smoke.
“The power of the .45 surely is among the best….you know this gun has killed things a hundred times better than you vermin…I almost feel sorry to use it to kill you lowlifes ah!” Add sighed, but his voice was deadpan and cold. He was holding the gun in his left hand while his right held the combat knife, which had chipped at many places and was looking pretty brittle. Add was ambidextrous so he could do any work with both his hands with equal ease. The familiar feel of the trigger gave deep feeling of nostalgia.
*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*
In the darkness flashes of light accompanied shrieks and wails of goblins as they died like pigs for slaughter. Some chose to ran, but in close quarters, running from Add’s aim was nigh impossible. He killed any goblin that approached too close to him with his knife and dealt with the farther ones with the pistol. Add quickly reloaded a magazine from the inventory, while kicking away a goblin.
“This darkness is a bit troubling….”
He then remembered a skill he had seen in the shop. He had killed many more goblins by now and had barely enough CP to buy it.
“System! I want to buy the skill [Night Vision] !”
[Ding! Skill [Night Vision] (Passive). Cost : 200 CP]
[Proceed with purchase ? Yes/No]
Add chose yes and instantly his vision cleared, as if he was back in the day. He began killing the goblins again but by now most goblins were dead and rest were fleeing so he soon lost his targets. Add was about to relax when….
“”””ROAR””””
Many angry roars resounded in the area, as new figures appeared before him. Add looked at the newcomers and his face couldn’t help but twitch.
“Are you really Kidding me?”
He almost lost it.
