The Moon Thief - Chapter 172
Heinald spent his first day in the mine area, performing the duty assigned to him and his unit to keep watch on the north side.
Nothing had happened that night, they hadn’t even heard a sound coming from the forest at night. Though, that made them a little more uneasy.
It was quite strange and disturbing for them not to hear the sound of any living creature, especially in a forest.
A few hours after sunrise the next day, Lord Esquis summoned all the Level 2 Ainsars to his side.
They would take a few hours of wandering through the outermost chamber of of the black forest and check for any clues.
After entering the black forest and starting to walk a little deeper, it seemed like it was completely night. The only difference was that there was no moon illuminating the sky above, the surrounding area was illuminated by various plants and insects.
They searched for clues for hours but found nothing. In the end, they did not want to go any further and turned back. It was strange that they hadn’t seen any Magical Beasts at first, but when they thought of the possibility that they might have escaped after feeling the energy waves of many powerful Ainsars, they stopped thinking about it.
Two weeks passed quickly. There was no attack on the mine area and they found no clues in the parts of the forest where they were wandering.
When Lord Esquis concluded that the attack was more likely to belong to another organization or academy, everyone rallied and the journey back to the academy began.
Arriving at the academy after a two-week journey, the first thing Heinald did was travel to Mount Jewyna, one of the mountains in the south of the academy.
At this very top was the headquarters of the Rasfor Trade Association. Actually, the headquarters of this unit was built inside the top of the mountain, there was no case of any extra structures.
“Revakender, descend!” Heinald mentally gave orders to his Spirit Companion.
As the dragon descended towards the top of Mount Jewyna, the Ainsars there were momentarily panicked. However, they were somewhat relieved after seeing that this dragon was being controlled by someone.
“My lord, welcome!”
Couple of Level 1 Ainsars greeted him.
After Heinald told them that the Revakender was his Spiritual Companion, he headed for headquarters.
There was a large fifty-meter gate at the entrance of the headquarters of this association. When he entered, a very long and wide corridor appeared before him.
On the right and left side of this corridor were roads leading to other places. At the end of these roads were huge circular gates. Those gates were protected by some kind of security formation.
A middle-aged Level 1 Ainsar greeted Heinald. This Ainsar who greeted him was bald and wore a small pair of glasses.
Heinald said, “I want to meet with Ewnzell Tally.”
“Oh…” The middle-aged man paused for a moment, “Follow me, please!”
Heinald started following the man. When they came with him to the end of the wide and long corridor, they were in front of many large stairs. As they climbed these stairs, another corridor met them, but this corridor was not very long and wide.
“The road on the right leads directly to Lord Ewnzell’s settlement. With your permission, I’ll go and forward your request to meet him.”
Heinald nodded.
Level 1 Ainsar quickly walked away and arrived after about half an hour.
“Please follow me!”
Heinald started following the man again. After passing through a corridor that was quite narrow compared to the others, they came to a long iron door.
The long iron door opened automatically as soon as they arrived.
“Oh…” Heinald stepped through the long iron door and found himself inside a large, rather ostentatious hall. There was a lot of furniture and armchairs, it looked like a kind of lobby. There were roads leading to three different places, right, left and middle.
When the man turned to the road on the right, he followed him. At the end of this road, there was a door covered with beautiful embroidery.
The man said, “Lord Ewnzell awaits you inside!”
When Heinald opened the door and walked in, the first thing that caught his eye was a large white table. There were many notebooks on this table. The room was illuminated by candlesticks. Behind the desk was an old man sitting on a large armchair. Even though his face didn’t have many wrinkles, his white hair showed that he was old.
This man was Ewnzell Tally and was a Level 2 Ainsar.
“Hello, Mr. Ewnzell.” Heinald greeted him.
“Greetings! What brought you here?” Ewnzell gave a light nod.
“I came here on Larten’s direction. We’re both in the same division and ww brew potions together.” Heinald said.
“Oh! So Larten sent you here…” Ewnzell nodded slightly and continued, “Since you’re here, you must be looking for something special.”
“Indeed! I need materials that contain Spatial Energy.” Heinald nodded.
A look of surprise appeared on Ewnzell’s face, “Spatial Energy?”
Heinald asked, “Is there a problem?”
“Aren’t you a Potions Master?” Ewnzell asked.
“I am.”
“I’m just surprised that you need Spatial Energy materials… Anyway, such materials are quite expensive, can you afford it?”
When Ewnzell noticed Heinald’s gaze, he decided not to dwell on the matter any longer.
“So you have materials containing Spatial Energy?” Heinald smiled faintly.
“I personally don’t own it. However, I’m sure the materials you want can be found in our trade association.”
“Mm. I’d appreciate it if you could help.” Heinald nodded.
“Because you’re Larten’s friend, I’ll help you out! Please allow me to talk to some of my friends. You can wait in the lobby in the meantime.”
Ewnzell left to talk to a few friends about it. Meanwhile, Heinald went to the large lobby at the entrance and sat down in one of the comfortable armchairs there and began to wait for him.
A few hours later, Ewnzell returned. He told him that association had two High-Tier Space Stones in hand. A single High-Tier Space Stone was worth around 2,500,000 Arcana Stones. For most Ainsars, this was a fortune that they would never reach.
However, this amount was no big deal for a Potions Master like Heinald. He bought the two High Tier Space Stones they had and thus spent almost all the Arkana Stones he had.
After Heinald confirmed there was no deception in the two High Tier Space Stones, he left and began his journey back to the academy.
He was confident that the spatial energy contained in these two High Tier Space Stones he had purchased would be enough to activate that portal. Next was getting permission from the academy and traveling straight to the portal.
After reaching the academy, the first thing he did was to completely fill his Protective type treasure Blood Nighmare Shield with the blood of the Three Headed Inderno Crocodile, which he had stored. Afterwards, he went to the headquarters and informed that he was going to go on a journey and got permission.
Later, he bought himself a horse and started traveling to Poplar Wind Forest. He didn’t want to go with Revakender because he didn’t want to attract attention. Before Heinald left, he had told his Spirit Companion that it could roam freely wherever it wanted.
His journey was rather slow, as he was traveling on a horse.
When he finally reached the forest, he immediately moved into the middle of the forest and was relieved to see that the camouflage formation he had created was still active. He entered the formation without doing anything and immediately moved towards the portal.
When Heinald arrived in front of the portal, he created an energy transfer formation and began to send the spatial energy within the High-Rank Space Stones into the crystals of the portal.
The spatial energy from the two High-Rank Space Stones was entering the crystals in the form of a kind of stream of light.
The crystals that formed the portal soon began to glow. The seals and symbols engraved on the crystals began to emit a white light.
Soon after, a red sphere formed in the middle of the portal and began to grow larger and larger. When this orb grew large enough to completely cover the middle of the portal, an intense spatial energy began to radiate into the surrounding area.
“I have to calculate how much energy this portal consumes or how long it will stay active by observing for a while.” Heinald sighed and began observing the amount of spatial energy the portal was consuming.
Heinald calculated that at the end of a day, less than 1% of energy was lost. This meant that he did not have much time. When this portal was activated, the portal that this portal opened was also activated. When this portal was closed, that portal would also be closed.
