The Mysterious Black Magician - Chapter 317
Right, it was the item that interested him. After entering the alley, Kiko was now facing a person in a black robe. Because of the cloak, he could not identify the person’s identity.
Kiko squinted his eyes. Such attire was so suspicious. However, he understood the reasoning behind such a getup. Prolly because of the item with him or her or perhaps because of the kind of job he/she had. “Are you the one who contacted me?” He asked right away without beating around the bush.
Kiko could not see the person’s face because of the hood on the person’s head, but he saw his mouth break into a smile before opening it. “Yes, I am,” the opposite person answered him in a calm voice, yet feminine. He was quite surprised and did not expect that the opposite person was a female. Regardless, it wasn’t a big deal to him.
“Where is the item you’ve mentioned?” Kiko is being honest with himself. He hates meaningless talks. He knew that the opposite party was rather suspicious, but he wasn’t concerned about it. He only needed the item and figured out if it was real or just a sham.
However, if the other party was fooling him, it was a very bad move to pull out against him because he would certainly kill them.
Without even moving a single finger, a fire flared in front of Kiko when the robed person did not answer him within several seconds. It was to show her his dominance. Unexpectedly, Kiko frowned when the person remained unperturbed, unflinching from his threatening aura.
And soon, the person chuckled. “Fufu. My, you don’t have to be so rash, you know that? I have the item, but. Are you capable of wielding its power?” She asked.
“Tsk!” Kiko clicked his tongue while knitting his brows. He disliked getting looked down. “That’s not your concern!” He said in a powerful voice in which the fire ablaze further. It looked more threatening now. A heavy pressure swooped towards the other party. He could even notice a slight tremble from the person in front of him.
Although she was shuddering, the other party secretly grinned.
“Alright, you win. Well, if anything happened, you only have yourself to blame,” she said. Then she produced an item in her hand. It was a small glass with glowing scarlet liquid in it. It wasn’t any kind of healing potion. However, it was a powerful potion.
But looking at the item, Kiko narrowed his eyes. Probably knew what it was. “Tainted Angel’s Blood, The Divine Sinner’s Blood,” Kiko muttered.
Just as Kiko said, it was an angel’s tainted blood or also known as The Divine Sinner’s Blood.
There used to be a tale that there was once an angel who committed an unforgivable crime in the palace of white and mirage where the angels resided.
The angel was caught and punished. Through anger, she took her own life and let the blood rain down to the world below.
The whole world was blanketed in a scarlet sky, seemingly grieving. It was so eerie that every living being shuddered in fright.
It was followed by heavy rains that lasted for a decade.
The phenomenon was then called Rain Of The Glowing Scarlet and the Prelude of Mana.
A group of people claimed this was the beginning of mana. Whereas, many also claimed that it was false. After all, each race had its own history for the root of mana.
Those living beings who were hit by a drop of it gained an unimaginable power be it animals, plants, insects, or humans. But it also caused a hideous side effect to some of them who failed to control the power.
Thus, turning them into hideous-looking monsters. This is said to be the origin of magical monsters and the start of mutation to all the living.
Nonetheless, such cases and gossip were of no value to Kiko.
He stared at the item for a couple of seconds. He could tell that the liquid inside it wasn’t the real thing. Kiko didn’t mean that it was a fake, however. It wasn’t the pure Divine Sinner’s Blood.
To prove his assumption, the person in a black robe spoke once again. “Yeah. It is as you see. The Divine Sinner’s Blood. Don’t worry, it’s purified to at most 75 percent. So it is safer to consume. With this, I can’t fully imagine just how far your power will leap. Hehe. You might either advance your level faster than your peers.”
Kiko produced a pouch of gold. The main currency used in the Outerworld was Virtual Gold Points. But in some parts of the Innerworld, they were still using gold coins.
Kiko threw the pouch of gold points towards her, in exchange she did the same to the item. the Divine Sinner’s blood. She threw it towards Kiko.
The person in a black robe disappeared into the shadows after receiving the payment. Kiko also left the place and went back to the Waiting Hall with a huge grin on his face.
When he arrived, there were only three remaining participants that had yet to battle. However, the match that was currently on the stage had just ended.
Two of the remaining three went up on stage to fight.
The fight ended after one of them was cornered in a cage-like wall that was made of hardened wood.
The winner was a student from section A, whereas his enemy was from the lower section. The difference in mana capacity and fighting capability was too broad. So it was understandable that he won.
Now, it’s time for the last participant to choose his desired opponent.
“Calling the last participant to come up on stage!” A loud call using a mic resounded.
The last participant was called on stage to be given the privilege to choose his opponent, not to the defeated participants, but to those who’d won their match, except for those who were injured to fight.
However, many of the remaining participants had their feelings sink after knowing the last participant’s identity. Especially those in lower sections.
