The Mysterious Black Magician - Chapter 342
Rea was silently sipping cold drinks as though unbothered by everyone’s astonishment.
“Okay, everyone! These contestants on the stage are our finalists!”
“Please give them a round of applause before we start the second half of the finale!”
OOOOOH!!!
CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!
Thunderous applause resounded in the plaza right after Mora Liz announced it.
“Because we are coming so close to the end of our competition, I would like to announce that starting now, there’s no more time limit! Everyone could fight for their heart’s content!”
“The contestants could still choose to give up if they wanted to. But, I doubted that they would do that, especially at this point of the competition.”
“Now, everyone! Without further delay let the fun resume!”
OOOOOH!!!
Another thunderous cheer erupted towards the sky.
Then it was followed by the audience’s cheerful chants for the name of their favored contestants.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere had become so tense. Everyone was anticipating who would be in the first match.
On the monitor, the shuffle had once again played. But hiding from everyone’s vision, A person was manipulating the matching panel.
And so, the first pair was decided when the profiles of two contestants appeared on the monitor.
“Crimson versus Miss Realist!”
Commentator Mora Liz shouted at the first pair to fight.
Kiko clicked his tongue.
The commentator then asked the others to step down off the stage and wait for their turn.
Yman and Josie Finn were left standing on the stage while the others stepped down.
The two then walked in the middle, standing 20 meters away from each other.
They respectfully bowed at each other before the signal was announced.
Actually, she knew a little about Yman. He was the person who always fainted in their exercise. He had the worst evaluation as well.
That’s why she was as shocked as the others when he fought and won against Jugo, a student from the elite class.
Josie remembered Yman’s recent fights. She must be wary of his unusual strength. If she assessed his physical strength, it would be at the level of False Path.
She must be careful.
She wondered how he transformed from a wimpy dull-looking person to a physically strong person in a short amount of time.
She wanted to ask him, but alas, they were not even close.
Now that he was seeing him from a close distance, even his looks had a great change, huh. He looked quite cute, to be honest. Though, it didn’t mean that she had a crush on him. She was just surprised at his unbelievable transformation.
Regardless, she needed to defeat him.
When the bell rang, it signified the start of the battle.
Josie Finn hastily unsheathed her sword after the bell rang. Next, she summoned her mana, then her sword emitted a strong dark bluish aura.
She waved it in Yman’s direction. A bluish wave of magical energy flew at a hard to perceive speed.
Yman easily evaded it by jumping to his side. There was an explosion that happened far behind him after he evaded it.
Josie Finn narrowed her eyes. She already expected that her enemy could dodge it. But seeing that he easily evaded it, it pained her pride a little.
She noticed Yman coming to approach her.
Without letting him cut their distance, she fired another wave of energy by brandishing her sword.
Swoosh~ swoosh~ swoosh~
Three waves were coming at him one after another. Yman moved in a zigzag and avoided all the attacks at ease.
CEH!
Josie Finn clicked her tongue. Yet, she didn’t stop attacking. She fired a barrage of it. Still, none of those attacks were able to land a hit on her target. Right, she knew that his speed was also extraordinary.
In that case, “Take this!”
She summoned two beasts. They were identical to tigers. One of them has smooth white furs and blue lines from its eyes to its back on both sides, and the other has black furs and red lines from its eyes to its back.
Though, unlike normal tigers, they have long and pointed ears. Even their tails were longer.
The most striking thing about them was that their bodies were radiating magical elements.
The white-furred was exuding water element while the black-furred was exuding fire element.
Yman remembered those two beasts. It was her summons, the Hunter Twin Beasts, which she used when she fought against Jami.
They were also the reason that Jami could not execute her illusion abilities. Those beasts can break illusions. Or more accurately, they could not be put under illusion spells. Probably because of their high perception. Truly befitting of their name the hunter.
Moreover, their sizes which are triple the size of a normal cow were truly intimidating.
Even Yman would not dare to engage with them head-on. Especially, that he used lots of his mana in creating his new fire dolls.
Yman already cut half of their distance, but he had to stop going further. If he mindlessly charged forward without knowing those two beasts’ capabilities, it might have caused him to lose in this battle.
He created two chakrams, one on each palm.
“There it is! The unbeatable chakrams!” One of the audience shouted excitedly. Then it was followed by a cheer.
At that moment, the beasts were racing towards him in zigzag movements to confuse him.
Their charge caused the stage to vibrate.
However, without even a second thought after the two chakrams were created, he threw one of them right into their directions in a straight line.
“That’s useless,” Josie Finn muttered with scorn.
As expected, the beasts dodged the chakram without difficulty.
After throwing the first chakram, he ran to his left and threw the second one. But this time, he didn’t throw it in a straight line. Instead, he threw it to his right where there was no enemy.
The audience wondered if he made a mistake.
However, after the first chakram was evaded by the beast, Josie Finn widened her eyes.
The chakram continued towards her. Josie Finn realized that his target wasn’t her summoned beasts in the first place, but her!
She ran to her left to avoid it, however. Her ears caught an air-tearing sound from that side. When she glanced, she noticed another chakram.
“Ha?!”
Her face turned pale at that instance.
