The Mysterious Black Magician - Chapter 379
“Mr. Goki!”
“Sir Goki!”
His Co-Instructors and students shouted when the person in black clothing shot him. Thankfully, he was in resonance with his deity, so he was still out from real danger.
But still, they worried. After hearing the boss of the people in black clothing’s command, Almina glared at them.
Seeing the two girls not moving, the leader of the group twitched his brow and shouted again. Did these two think he was joking? The leader thought.
With a cross-shaped pulse on his forehead, “Hey, hey! Do you want us to shoot these people around us? If you don’t want them dead, then it’s better if you start your fight already!” As he said these, he pressed the barrel of his gun in Bob’s face.
Feeling the cold sensation of metal right on his face, beads of sweat appeared on Bob’s face. He wanted to cry. Why did he have to suffer like this? Of all the people around them, he was the one who was pointed by that gun! Truthfully, he wanted to smack these people. But nevermind. Not even the higher-level around could do something. The only good thing was… it seemed these people didn’t realize that most of the Magicians around were currently in resonance with their Deities.
Almina narrowed her eyes. These people… she wondered who they were and what was their goal. But seeing their attire and actions, everyone could tell that they were up to something not good.
At that moment,
Fwoosh!
Almina heard a sound that seemed like something was traveling at a fast speed, cutting through the air. Based on the sound, it seemed like it came from her side, to where she thought Maena was. She tilted her head instinctively. Just right when she did that… an arrow passed an inch away from her face.
Almina widened her eyes in surprise. She hastily glanced at Maena. “Maena?” She called her name, but her reply put a frown on her face, “Sorry, Amulet. But we have no choice. Also, I think it’s good as well. At least, we can settle our score,” Maena said as she pointed her bow at Almina. For Maena, it was a good chance to see who among them was stronger.
“Wait, Maena, this is not the right time for that! We need to—”
“Shut up! Do you think we have a choice?” Maena cut Almina’s words.
“Listen, Maena—” Before Almina could finish her words, another arrow came flying towards her. She had no choice but to defend herself.
She swung her fire elemental sword at the arrow.
Woosh! Klang!
Almina successfully got rid of it. After she did that, she threw a glare at Maena. She noticed Maena’s mouth curled upward.
“Now, let’s continue what we’ve started, Almina Amulet!” After saying this, Maena fired three arrows at the same time. She seemed amused that Almina was defending herself.
Looking at Maena, Almina knew that it was no use now trying to convince her. Maena was now in full battle mode.
Tsk! Maena you’re an idiot!
Almina clicked her tongue and shouted in her mind as she tightened the grip on the hilt of her swords. She needed to survive first from Maena’s attack.
In just a blink of an eye, the arrows appeared in front of her.
Ting! Ting! Ting!
Sparks flew away when Almina slashed the arrows to defend herself. The arrows fell on the floor after that. She was again successful in getting rid of them.
While she was defending herself, in her mind, she needed to find a way to get out of this predicament. There must be a way! No, there should be a way to solve this situation.
After seeing Almina defending herself, Maena had become more motivated to attack. She summoned mana on her hand. After doing it, her hand glows in bluish brilliance. Then a gleaming arrow emerged on her palm. It was bigger than the conventional ones. Looking at it, it seemed like it was oozing with cold smoke.
That arrow was made from Maena’s mana, so Almina was sure that it had extraordinary perks. Moreover, it seemed like it was an Ice elemental arrow.
Almina squinted her eyes. She believed Maena was planning to release a higher-tier skill. Almina was uncertain whether she would attack her first or not.
She wanted Maena to listen to her. However, the idiot Maena seemed already convinced in fighting her. Almina could only grit her teeth as she hardened her jaws in frustration.
“Damm it,” she muttered as she once again readied herself from the coming attack. Unexpectedly, instead of aiming at her, Maena aimed her bow to the sky.
“What?” Almina muttered in puzzlement. She wondered what Maena was aiming over there.
But Almina still didn’t lower her guard. Her eyes were fixed at Maena’s bow.
Maena was using a “split finger” style or Mediterranean Draw in holding the arrow. Since she wasn’t using a sight, she placed all her 3 fingers below the arrow, which brought the arrow closer to her eye. Her thumb was used to support the back of the arrow and keep it straight.
After aiming towards the sky, Maena released the arrow without a second thought.
Almina saw the arrow pierced a cloud. Then a moment later, that specific cloud thundered as lightning could be seen trailing around it. Really, she was puzzled as to how that arrow was able to climb that high! For such an arrow to reach the cloud, Almina found it hard to believe.
But nonetheless, it truly happened.
However, it wasn’t the most pressing issue right now. Something more alarming was brewing up above. That specific cloud started to burst out something.
A moment later, that specific cloud rained down countless Ice Spikes. Looking at it, Almina’s countenance turned pale.
She shouted. “Wah! Damn you Maena!” Almina panicky searched for somewhere to hide. But after finding out she had nowhere to hide, Almina gritted her teeth in frustration.
‘Damn Maena you’re an idiot idiot idiot idiot…’ she said repeatedly the word “idiot”, though in mind only.
At the corner of her eyes, she noticed Maena gasping for breath. It seemed like that ability drained a good amount of stamina from her. Looking at her, it looked like she wasn’t capable of initiating a sneak attack while Almina was going to tend to the Ice Spikes.
KRUSH!
Almina’s feet slid a short distance when she suddenly stopped on her. “Looks like I have no other choice, huh,” Almina muttered. Since there was no way out of this unless she took her head-on. She finally decided to take on Maena. Since Maena didn’t want to cooperate, she had no choice but to take her on.
Almina stored back her Ice Elemental Sword inside her Cyber Storage. After storing it, only the Fire Elemental Sword was left in her hand. She then held the hilt of the Fire Elemental Sword with both hands.
Even knowing that the Ice Spikes were coming down at her at a speed faster than raindrops, Almina stood straight while closing her eyes.
There was strange calmness around her as she did it. After closing her eyes, the Fire Elemental Sword burst out with more flames.
At that moment, the Ice Spikes were already above her. In a split second, they would surely hit her. But, at that instance, Almina drew her sword upward in the blink of an eye.
Flame Wave!
A massive amount of flames engulfed the Ice Spikes. In the next second, the Flame Waves and Ice Spikes disappeared at once.
Like Maena, Almina also gasped for breath. “Damn, that was so draining,” she murmured as she shifted her gaze towards Maena.
Looking at the exchange of high-tier abilities, the leader of the black clothing people in the plaza nodded in satisfaction.
He tapped Bob’s shoulder and said. “Be glad, kid. Those two beauties just saved your life.”
After saying it, Bob sighed in relief. But soon he froze again at the leader’s next words. “However, it doesn’t mean you’re literally safe. If someone here tried to act against us, your skull would be the first to burst.”
‘Oh no. Why does it have to be me!?’
If only there were no hostages around them, Bob would have already retaliated even though there were about 20 of them at the moment. He believed he was capable of taking two or three of them.
Looking at these people, Bob believed they weren’t full-blown magicians like them, who trained and studied in the academy. Aside from the person they called leader or boss, it was the person who was aiming a gun at him, the others seemed to be genetically modified. It was a process to instill the hollow cell in a normal person.
However, Bob didn’t hear good things about that experiment. Based on what he heard, those people who were genetically modified weren’t near as strong as the real magicians. They were only capable of activating a magic-based weapon. They couldn’t even use real magic abilities like them.
Sitting beside Bob, Chloe and Yana and Rea were obediently quiet. They avoided making a single noise.
Suddenly, they heard the leader of the group say, “Right. All of you, surrender your System Deity!”
“The heck!?”
Everyone was astonished upon hearing it.
