- Chapter 97 The Same But Different.
As the three continued to talk about even more outrageous things like calling ancestors that were known as sages to the people, while badmouthing them.
Of course Liang Chen only listened and commented while the ones that spoke and introduced said sages were of course Ao Shuang and Chen Xiao.
They made fun of the called sages of the ancient times while drinking wine, while the three disciples swore to never tell a living soul anything of what had transpired here today.
When the three bottles were empty, the three of them stretched and slowly got up.
When they did so, the table disappeared along with the empty bottles and the cups.
The three of them drew their spears and glared at each other.
Seeing this the three disciples immediately retreat, afraid that these three would throw them in the middle and “mistakenly” attack the wrong target.
Ao Shuang lifted his spear and formations were formed.
But these formations were different from the typical formations. It seemed that they did not exist at all, as if the spear could dictate whether they existed or not.
When the spear moved, they would move as well. These formations flickered with strange lights all of a sudden and attacked towards Liang Chen.
Ao Shuang’s spear made its way through space and attacked where Liang Chen had been before he had dodged.
*Slash* *Drip*
All of a sudden a deep cut appeared on Liang Chen’s right shoulder and blood dripped from it.
Seeing this Liang Chen frowned.
He did not understand what had just happened.
He played out the scene that had just happened in his mind, but he still could not understand what had just happened.
This was not because he lacked experience, but because he lacked vast horizons like any powerful expert needs.
“He attacked your right shoulder from the begining. He locked the space around your right shoulder with his formations and attacked it.” explained Chen Xiao, who also had a spear in his hands.
Hearing this Liang Chen frowned and scratched his chin, as if he was in deep thought.
Seeing this Chen Xiao seemed to have understood something as he sighed.
“Think of it like this. No matter where you go, unless you pierce and destroy space around you, he will hit you.” explained Chen Xiao helplessly.
Hearing this Liang Chen looked like he had gained enlightement as he nooded his head fiercely but slowly at the same time.
At the same time his body seemed to have growed endlessly and his aura transformed holy, as he attacked with his spear.
All of a sudden he changed his attack that was making its way towards Ao Shuang and attacked behind him.
*Stab*
Even though he tried to stop the attack, he was too slow in doing so and was stabbed in the stomach.
At the same time he sensed another attack coming his way from Ao Shuang’s direction, it was not as “gentle” as it had been before, but seemed ferocious, as flames appeared in his spear and churned everything into ashes, and then melted those ashes, as the melted ashes gathered on the tip of the spear. This gave it an extremelly fierce aura and appearance.
Seeing this Liang Chen prepared himself to use everything he had to deflect or to at the very least minimise said attack, but the moment he prepared to do so Chen Xiao who had previously stabbed him in the back, appeared in front of him and a domineering aura erupted on his body.
He then lifted his spear and attacked. Immediately an infinite amount of agile Spear Ki made its way nimbly through everything, not leaving any trails behind as they destroyed the attack from the inside.
Seeing this Ao Shuang was surprised and nooded in satisfaction.
Seeing this development, the three disciples shivered.
The three were really different from each other, although not that much in the end.
The three were all straightforward, and did not care about anyone or their opinions, simply doing as they pleased.
But they differed in the way they did so ans acted.
Liang Chen was direct, he would not care if he had to kill or offend anyone if he wanted to take something away. But he would protect his people to the end, killing everything and anyone if they dared to touch them.
Chen Xiao was like a thief. If they did not give it to him, he would just steal everything they owned, and if he was angry even their lives in the process. And like Liang Chen he would protect his own people to the end, but if he had to kill them, he would do it himself, and would neither hesitate to teach them a lesson if necessary, like he had just attacked Liang Chen just now.
But Ao Shuang, unlike Liang Chen, if they did not give him said thing, he would lose his gentle aura and would destroy and kill everything in his path, be them either involved or not. And unlike the two of them, he would take his people and teach them a lesson that they would never forget, only protecting them if they were indeed in mortal danger.
This could be seen in the way they used their spears.
The same but different.
