The Night Rose - Chapter 24
Arwin couldn’t get the image of the ship out of head for even a second. Because of this, she aimlessly walked out from the guild. She also failed to remember what the Guild Master had told her after introducing the airship. Add to the fact that she didn’t realize how the people who once were mocking her now was whispering her name in exited manner as well.
When she also got outside, she just walked past the nervous Timothy, who was waiting for her patiently. Earlier, when he realized that he didn’t know where Arwin went, he decided to wait for her outside of the main exit.
Finally, when he saw Arwin, he waved at her and tried to call her name. After so much effort, he just ran towards her and stopped her.
“Don’t you recognize your first friend anymore? I tried to call you, but you just kept walking.” Timothy said while trying to sound sorrowful.
“Oh, Timothy! I was looking for you, actually, as I will need your help. I was just daydreaming, so I didn’t see you. Hehe.
I need your help. Let’s first get back to the doctor’s house, and I will tell you about it.” Arwin said while smiling towards the puzzled Timothy.
“O…kay? Let’s get back there then, I guess?” Timothy said while still being confused about the situation. He was not sure why she needed his help instead, especially when a big guild was inviting her to join them,
‘Does this mean, Arwin accepted my offer?’ Timothy asked himself.
Arwin chuckled as she looked at him, amusedly, “Don’t look so confused. Let me tell you at the doctor’s office. Come on, let’s hurry before I forget the things in my head,” She said playfully before t hurrying towards the office.
The doctor’s office was just close. However, Timothy tried to guess what Arwin needed from him during the entire journey.
“Hey doctor, we are back, and do you have any paper and ink?” Arwin shouted while clearing the table just enough that a paper sheet could fit on it.
“I’m not deaf, even when I’m old. I can hear fine even without the shouting.” The old man grumbled before giving Arwin a blank paper and ink bottle with a pen in it.
Arwin took the pen and started to draw the layout of the guild’s warehouse. She began to draw the docking bay from her memory as clearly as she could.
Once done, she was already completely exhausted as it was a mentally draining process.
When Timothy saw the layout, he was surprised. “Don’t tell me you plan to rob the place? No, no, you cannot be that crazy, right?” He asked while looking at her suspiciously.
“Yes, my friend, that is what I’m planning on doing.” She confidently answered, before continuing, “I remember the doctor saying that you need an airship, and this Silas whoever he is, owns one. However, it would need repairing, and we don’t know how long the parts take. In this way, we can sack up the warehouse while getting a perfect getaway ship. So, either you are in, or I have to do it myself. If I will have to do it myself, can you at least tell me how the outside world as I need to escape plan.” She then took the cup of water that the doctor had offered, then drunk from it.
“Mark! Come here and see this drawing! Isn’t this way a better idea than Timothy’s? This is also a good way to pay back for those that have wronged us, right?” The doctor asked Mark with a grin. At this time, Mark was also looking at the drawing carefully.
“What is this hatch or something at this position?” Mark asked while pointing at the drawing, “How long it does take to reach from the warehouse to the docking bay and how quickly you could prepare a steamship to take off from the ground?”
“When I was in the warehouse, I saw something on the roof about five meters away from this door. It is in the middle of the warehouse. I am assuming that it would be a hatch as I didn’t see anything else on it. However, I would have to go and investigate further and see where it leads to make sure. This could easily lead to nothing or to a room upstairs.” Arwin started to explain.
“Otherwise, I think it took about five minutes or less if hurrying to reach the docking area as it was just a straight walk without any turns. For the airship since its steamship, it would need fuel. I don’t know where we can get that, but I have a way to carry around sixty liters of it.” Arwin continued as she excitedly told her plan to Mark, who was listening seriously.
“For the fuel, we can easily steal it from Silas and do a delivery to the guild. While the delivery is ongoing, we can place a wood near the ships,” Mark suggested.
“I think the next delivery should be three days from now. We still have that much time to explore the area and see can we pull through this plan.” The doctor added to this.
Timothy, who was flabbergasted by the doctor and Mark’s actions, asked in disbelief, “You guys cannot be serious, right? You know that angering the guild would be even more dangerous than just angering Silas? So you cannot be serious about her plan, right?”
“Hehe, Timothy, I haven’t told you yet that Mark and I have some bad blood flowing between us and with the Northguard. If this means we can get even with them, we will do it! You also have to admit that this plan sounds better than yours, you know. They have an airship that is ready to fly at any time!” The doctor said. Timothy listened to this silently as he was thinking things through.
