The Nine Coloured Paragon - Chapter 11
‘Where to start?’, Jianyu thought whilst avoiding his Mother’s discerning gaze.
He couldn’t bring himself to tell her that her son had died, his soul returned to reincarnate and Jianyu took over his body.
“I have been born blessed with the memories of my past life.”, he spoke slowly.
Ding Wei nodded slowly, ‘as expected’ she thought.
“However, my previous self was not an average person, I achieved the pinnacle of martial arts and lived for countless ages, if I were to claim to be the second strongest, no one would dare claim to be first.”, Jianyu announced proudly.
“I lived in a distant realm, far from this World so my name wouldn’t have spread to here. In the end, I came here to complete the final goal of my life and partially succeeded until…”, Jianyu sighed lightly.
“No matter what you are, or your past you are still my son and I am your mother.”, Ding Wei smiled at him compassionately.
“I suppose you want to know about the World you are born into then.”, she stated with a look of reminiscence.
Jianyu nodded excitedly wanting to learn about this uncharted territory.
“Your father was Lin Yun, a rogue cultivator who wandered the lands in pursuit of the way of the sword. He gained the name ‘Sword Immortal’ from fellow cultivators for being invincible against people on his own level and achieving unprecedented mastery of the sword. We met at a decennial martial arts tournament and fell in love. We married under the smiling eyes of our ancestors.”, she beamed with happiness retelling this to her son before her expression darkened.
“Roughly half a year after I got pregnant with you, disaster struck and war broke out between the different sects. The Black Poison Sect was considered an evil sect meddling with poison arts, hence it banded together with the other devilish sects against the orthodox sects within the surrounding Kingdoms. Our Black Poison Sect came under attack from the surrounding orthodox sects and receiving little help from our allies suffered great losses. Our Black Poison Ancestor stood strong against an onslaught of orthodox sect heads, buying time for our escape however our path of retreat was cut off.”, Ding Wei recounted with a solemn expression.
“Your Father and I fought through a sea of blood together before our Ancestor finally fell. Under the assault of numerous pinnacle Divine Core Elders, your father paid the ultimate price for you and I.
He opened a gap for me to escape through the net of the orthodox sects. I ran without turning back and fled into this Zhejiang Kingdom where in my weakened state was captured by the conjoined efforts of the Divine Spirit Sects head and the Zhejiang Kingdom’s experts. Shortly after they decided not to kill me, torturing me for information on stragglers from the defeated Devil Sect alliance, but I gave them nothing before I was thrown into the dungeons to rot. Months later, you were born, reigniting my will to live, bringing us to our current dilemma.”, she sighed before looking at Jianyu lovingly.
Indifferent to the thought of his fathers death, he still would not allow his prestige as an expert to be trampled upon.
Jianyu decided that he would wipe out the Divine Spirit Sect and Zhejiang Kingdom if it was convenient.
Jianyu looked up to see his mother regurgitating a lump of glowing metal into her dainty hands.
His eyes brightened as it began to levitate forming into a black and white sword.
“This is something your father left for you and I have hidden well for these past months.
It signifies his hopes for his child to pursue the way of the sword. I know you will not disappoint him.”, his mother clarified, handing him the sword.
It had a sleek design with a small gemstone at the hilt, feeling cold to the touch, it was easy to wield even when held in his tiny hand.
It was half black and half white containing the properties of Yin and Yang.
Jianyu’s eyes lit up in surprise seeing the fusion of Yin and Yang, such a treasure had to be a pinnacle Spirit level Treasure at the least.
Seeing her sons intrigued expression Ding Wei nodded to herself thinking, ‘If only he was here to see this’, hints of her endless rage boiled up as she thought of the orthodox sect alliance before she suppressed it back down to the depths of her heart.
Sending his God energy into the sword, Jianyu bound it to him before a suprised and ancient voice entered his mind.
“Finally after all these years a new Master who can bind me successfully?”
‘As expected’, Jianyu thought to himself.
Magical Treasures had different rankings in his memory.
Normal Body Tempering cultivators were unable to use magical treasures however each realm afterwards had a level of magical treasure in accordance with their cultivation.
These were namely, Houtian weapons, Xiantian weapons, Earth weapons and Spirit weapons.
Of course there were realms past this, along with cultivation realms in accordance with them.
When a weapon reaches the Spirit level, it gains sentience allowing it to communicate with its master and coordinate both the master and weapons energies more proficiently resulting in shocking power.
The voice sounded once more, “Only Nascent Soul Grandmasters and above would be able to bind me, seems like your soul is exceptionally powerful.”
Jianyu approved of the weapon spirit’s observations before storing it inside Mo Tu’s spatial ring.
Seeing this Ding Wei turned to the old man.
“This old demon Mo Tu is the Fourth Elder of the Blood Devil Sect in Zhejiang Kingdom, the nemesis of both the Divine Spirit Sect and the Zhejiang Royal family and where I planned on fleeing to. Hence, an enemy of our enemy can be considered a friend.”, she explained to Jianyu before using her Spiritual energy to rouse Mo Tu’s consciousness.
He sprang to his feet taking a defensive position, seemingly forgetting where he was.
Looking at Ding Wei and Jianyu standing before him passively, he coughed lightly before placing his arms behind his back.
“I suppose the disrespect shown towards my mother can be forgiven, that is if you show us to your Blood Devil Sect and treat us as Guest Elders.”, Jianyu said in a commanding tone.
Mo Tu was enraged hearing this however, this kid had the strength to back up his arrogance.
“That can be arranged, considering Ding Wei can be considered an ally of sorts…”
All cultivators respected strength and previously Mo Tu had underestimated this mother-son duo, leading to him being in his current disheveled state.
“However..”, he added, “After two months in the annual outer disciple assessment, you must enter the sect as an outer disciple, considering your talent, you should easily rise through the ranks.”, Mo Tu smiled proudly, thinking of the potential genius he had recruited to the sect.
“Done”, Jianyu replied indifferently.
While he didn’t like being a show off, if he made a name for himself it would be smoother sailing than if he didn’t.
“Good!”, Mo Tu shouted jovially, “Then let us depart!”.
Both Mo Tu and Ding Wei were Divine Core experts, hence they could utilise the dense spiritual energy from the cores within their bodies to achieve flight!
Jianyu’s mother placed her hand on his back causing him to levitate.
Mo Tu then led them through the winding passageways of the cave out into the snowy mountains which surrounded the mouth of the cave.
They soared through the skies at a fast pace travelling away from the Zhejiang capital where Ding Wei and Jianyu were imprisoned.

Days passed by as they stopped only to regenerate spiritual energy.
After travelling for half a month a large structure entered Jianyu’s vision.
Upon a large volcanic mountain, black steel towers and dorms lay scattered across the mountainside.
Finally there was a large building at the peak, towering over the surroundings.
“We have arrived”, Mo Tu announced before pointing towards a reasonably sized building near the peak of the mountain.
“That is where you two will be staying, it is the Guest Elder residence and is currently empty.”, then Mo Tu turned to them, “I must report your arrival along with my recent breakthrough to the Sect Head. He will be overjoyed! Farewell little one, kekeke”, Mo Tu said to Jianyu before shooting towards the building constructed on the peak of the mountain, cackling in the distance.
He held great expectations for the kid.
While Mo Tu was a vicious old man, he was truly loyal to the Blood Devil Sect.
Ding Wei then looked at her son, “You must make your father and I proud in the assessment at the end of next month. Practice hard!”, she said before descending towards the Guest Elder building Mo Tu pointed at with Jianyu in tow….
