The Nine Coloured Paragon - Chapter 24
Entering the large tower Jianyu was greeted by the strong scent of tea leaves and incense.
As Peregrine led him to the centre of the construct Jianyu noticed the floor was similar to a flowing ocean, the water coalesced each time he stepped out, supporting his body above the liquid.
Arriving at the middle of what seemed to be the throne room Peregrine kneeled as a spherical platform congealed from the sea-like floor.
Peregrine waved his hand dismissing the Elders and Carmaelis causing the group to stutter before leaving reluctantly.
Peregrine had the final say in all matters in the Pluivium clan, after all even if the entire clan rallied against him, he could crush them with a single finger.
This was the power of laws.
Jianyu and Peregrine faced each other, an intricately carved blue table and cup set formed form the watery floor.
Then the Patriarch pointed at the wall, a tiny stone leaf came to life, before splitting into two and entering the mens cups.
Soon the strong smell of a refreshing brew of tea swirled into his nostrils, soothing his body and soul.
Despite the peaceful scene Jianyu was still alert towards Peregrine, although there was not much Peregrine could do to him it was still a foreign world with endless possibilities…
“Ah, much better.”, Peregrine took a sip of tea his body relaxing completely.
“Now elder Song, what is it that you would like to talk about.”, the tea cup clinked as he placed it on the table gazing respectfully towards Jianyu.
“You may have already guessed, but I am a newcomer to this realm.”, Peregrine nodded in response, such a powerful expert would not go unnoticed in the Great Plains.
“I would very much appreciate any information on the factions and rulers here, also races such as yours intrigue me greatly.”, Jianyu gestured towards the large feathered wings nestled behind Peregrine, before adding, “Of course, in return you may request one thing of me.”
The Pluivium clan Patriarch’s eyes brightened hearing this.
Such a powerful expert owing him a favour would be greatly beneficial for his clan, equivalent to a guillotine hanging over their enemies heads.
Stopping himself from choking on his saliva, Peregrine cleared his throat before beginning his explanation.
“I presume senior knows of the Hierarchy of Realms,- pff what am I saying of course you do.”, Peregrine shook his head rejecting the idea, taking a sip of tea he pondered on where to start.
“What is the Hierarchy of Realms?”
“Pffft-“, Peregrines tea spurted from his mouth, unable to believe his ears he looked at the puzzled expression on Jianyu’s face.
“Then you have come… from the Endless Abyss?”, Peregrine questioned, unable to believe such an impossibility.
Jianyu was completely lost…
Noticing Jianyu’s confused gaze Peregrine reluctantly began,”Then.. I’ll start at the beginning…”.
Jianyu listened closely, something resonated with him when he heard of a Hierarchy of Realms.
“Legend has it, at the beginning of time the Great Primeval Titan floated in the lonely darkness of the void, he was born from nothingness, lived in nothingness and would die in nothingness.
His thoughts brought him many places inside his own gargantuan mind, soon he grew tired of life in isolation.
His imagination was the beginning of many holy existences, such as Gods, Devils, Demons and Immortals, but the void’s climate was harsh and all he created soon vanished. Soon the Great Titan was alone once more, pondering the many possibilities, the Almighty steeled his heart.
From the depths of the void he used his great powers drawing an outline in the void, cutting a sword from the fabric of the void itself. This sword was known as the almighty’s greatest creation, the Primordial Void Slaying Blade.
For the sake of all creation, the almighty drove the great blade through his heart resulting in the void, himself and the blade exploding into trillions of fragments.
While his body was dead, the Great Titan’s mind lived on.
The remnant fragments from the explosion were similar to wet clay before a master potter, the Great Titan used them to mould the containers for his creations, known as realms.
Similar to a puzzle, the Great Titan’s mind assembled these realms into a Hierarchy, three thousand realms were formed into three divine rings containing the Earthly, Heavenly and Titan Realms.”, Peregrine looked at Jianyu closely before continuing, “But at the centre of these three great rings was a black mass where the Great Titan stored the unstable fragments. This area is considered a forbidden land in the Three Rings, it is known as the endless abyss and no matter how great the expert which enters, none return alive.”, at this stage Peregrine gazed disbelievingly towards Jianyu, very much doubting his origin.
It was far more likely he was an expert from a more powerful realm playing a fool than being from the Endless Abyss.
Jianyu’s eyes glazed over as he pondered his long life of cultivation.
‘If what Peregrine says is true then the numerous Omniverses reside within the Endless Abyss and the mysterious spatial tears I chanced upon are gateways to higher realms.
Then someone has taken Tian Fei to one of these realms.’
Eventually coming to this conclusion, Jianyu’s world was turned upside down but he retained his calm appearance.
Turning back to Peregrine, “Then what realm is this?”
Slightly impatient, Peregrine explained, “This is the Great Plains, one of the thousand Earthly Realms. Despite being the lowliest tier of Realms, the Great Plains ranks in the top five realms out of the thousand. This is mainly because of the Divine Phoenix clan living here.”, Peregrine explained, his expression souring as he mentioned the Divine Phoenix clan.
“Then how does one ascend from the Earthly realms or even transfer between the thousand realms?”, Jianyu asked with a fervent gaze.
‘Why didn’t you just state your true intentions earlier?’, Peregrine was greatly displeased about Jianyu’s roundabout way of squeezing information from him, however he didn’t dare say it.
Of course this was because he believed Jianyu wished to return to the Heavenly Realms, where he thought Jianyu had come from.
“One has to meet a certain strength requirement before they can enter the Heavenly Realms. This is not because of some arrogant buffoon, but those under this level of strength would die instantly in the harsh climate. To explain more clearly, the Endless Abyss was created at the centre of the three rings, then the Earthly realms form the inner ring, the Heavenly realms form the middle and finally the Titan realms form the outer ring. The further in you go, the more mellow the conditions, but this also makes the denizens weak.”
Jianyu nodded, ‘So that’s why the gravity here was many times stronger than the Omniverses, or the Endless Abyss rather.’
‘Then Tian Fei must be in the Earthly realms! I am getting closer.’
“Thank you Patriarch Pluivium, I will grant you one request in return.” Jianyu said as he rose from his seated position, flicking a talisman to white robed Peregrine, “Contact me with this when the time comes.”
Departing the tower Jianyu gazed at the violet sky in wonder.
His previous ‘peak of cultivation’ was nothing more than the summit of an anthill… yet instead of feeling smaller, he realised how much more room he had to grow.
For some unknown reason Jianyu burst out in a beaming smile, becoming a light chuckle, until it evolved into an uproarious laugh sounding across the Pluivium clan.
In truth, Jianyu is the strongest cultivator ever produced by the Endless Abyss.
Jianyu was itching for a fight to vent his grievances from being fumbling in the dark for a trillion years.
He wanted to see how strong these Earthly realm ‘experts’ really were fortunately, he was in luck.
A group dressed in blazing red colours sauntered through the skies, arriving at the Pluivium clan gates the youth at the lead boomed, “Peregrine Pluivium, roll out here for me!”
