The Nine Coloured Paragon - Chapter 3
Alicia had been posted in the garden for a thousand years.
The day she ascended to Godhood was the day she had been sent here.
There were many occasions on which powerful mortals broke through the barrier to enter the garden, however, she used simple mind tricks to send them off, which was her vow to the King of the Gods. Although she lived in a paradise, using the natural resources to increase her strength, a thousand years was not a short amount of time even for a God.
A silver-white crown rested lightly on her violet hair.
She lay in a fine white silk dress on her pristine white bed inside the heavenly palace constructed for her.
Her arms were placed neatly by her side as she slept quietly.
Alicia did this quite often to pass the time.
While her eyes were closed, she inspected the garden through her Divine sense.
Even from her palace she could count the spots on a ladybird from one hundred kilometers away.
In spite of the fact that she would normally be doing such things, she had a strange foreboding since this morning.
She had scanned the garden over multiple times, finding no anomalies, even after going in person. Abruptly, the energy in the garden became chaotic as the animals and insects all prostrated themselves towards the center of the garden as if a supreme existence was being birthed there.
‘The lake of life essence!’, Alicia realised she had overlooked the most important part of the garden, thinking it impossible for any being to infiltrate such a secure location without alerting her.
The lake of life essence was what allowed the very existence of a place such as the garden.
There was no time to reprimand herself as Alicia pounced off the bed, utilising spatial laws to teleport directly to the boundary of the life essence lake.
From here she had to proceed by flight.
There were many shields and traps which were impossible for her to pass through with spatial laws.
She took off from the grassy plains outside the protective measures, using Divine energy to carry her through the air at inconceivable speeds.
‘Pang’, the sound barrier burst as she entered super-sonic levels of speed.
A frown distorted her immaculate face.
There was two possibilities for a disturbance within the life essence lake, either there was an intruder or the lake had given birth to a Spirit of Nature.
If it was the latter, it would be Alicia’s ticket straight out of this god-forsaken place and she would likely regain her freedom as well as other enticing rewards if she played her cards right.
If it so happened that it was the former however, well needless to say, it would end badly for her
Alicia proceeded swiftly through the mystical barrier of trees surrounding the lake, soon arriving at the other side. A large empty pit greeted her eyes.
With her eyes widened and her mouth gaping she looked at the former lake, completely flabbergasted.
Thinking to herself, ‘Even the most powerful Spirit of Nature could take at most ten percent of such a large deposit of life essence isn’t this a bit too exaggerated?’
She suspiciously glanced around the surroundings realising she had overlooked something in her shock.
Her blood boiled and her pupils contracted to slits as she glared at the old man in the wooden cabin. Noticing the green haired little girl which he had laid on the scruffy bed, her breathing quickened.
“S- Spirit of Nature! Bastard! Who do you think you are!?”
Alicia threw open the spatial dimension where she stored her items, withdrawing a long silver halberd which was a meter longer than her body.
Her long white silk dress began to contort forming silver armour plates around her vitals, shoulders and arms.
Finally she took a battle stance facing the old man.
The silver-white crown began to transform on her head, wrapping her long violet mane within, as it formed a silver helmet which protected her face giving her a fierce and Godly appearance.
Her violet pupils swept up and down the old man’s body through the gaps in her helmet, not daring to underestimate an opponent who managed to get here without being detected.
Jianyu smirked lightly knowing by the woman’s gaze that discussion was futile.
Even with a glance he could read the thoughts of an irrational character such as her.
An incomprehensibly long lifespan allowed Jianyu to truly understand humans extremely well and very few people could surprise him with their thoughts and actions, after all, human nature remained unchanging.
He sighed and looked at the woman seriously.
“I do not wish to fight you, however if you attempt to disturb my daughters recovery I will not show mercy”.
Jianyu’s gaze suddenly became much sharper as something stirred within his gaze. Alicia, looking into his eyes felt as if she was being sucked into a bottomless abyss, as if his soul alone could suffocate her.
She managed to stutter out, “Daughter? That is an anomaly birthed from nature itself. You claim to be it’s Father? Don’t kid yourself!”
Jianyu reached into his robe drawing the black dagger once more.
He murmured under his breath with his aged voice, “Erebus, I call upon your power once more old friend.”
The dagger then began to emit an eerie black light, in fact rather than light it would be better for it to be called the opposite.
Absolute darkness in its purest form.
“Yessss Masssster”, a raspy voice sounded in Jianyu’s ears, one he had not heard for a long time.
Seeing this, Alicia was not idle, releasing her Divine energy, a swirl of silver light burst around her.
She lunged towards the old man, her blood-thirst ignited once more after almost a thousand years.
The Golden halberd pierced through the air without resistance.
Jianyu’s eyes flickered and he raised the dagger in a casual manner.
The absolute darkness emitted by the dagger swirled around Jianyu protectively.
Harrumphing coldly, Jianyu stabbed out swiftly with the dagger causing the surrounding space to contort and ripple.
Alicia’s eyes widened as she clenched her teeth bracing for the collision, however the expected clash never occured.
Instead, the pure darkness swept through her Divine energy, consuming it directly.
Without hesitation she retreated backwards hurriedly feeling the situation within her body, her face paled.
All of her Divine energy was consumed, leaving her only physical strength, which was not dissimilar to taking a broom to a sword fight.
This old man was far too mysterious.
She was like a lamb waiting to be slaughtered in her current state.
Her shock turned to decisiveness as she reached into space, swiftly withdrawing a strange gold medallion with the symbol of an azure crown on it.
Crushing it into dust in her hand, a gold beam shot through the bright sky.
“Crap!” Seeing this Jianyu was very surprised, not expecting her to have such a treasure.
Once shattered, it sent a long distance message directly to someone, most likely a God more powerful than herself.
These Gods were the most powerful beings Jianyu had encountered since his arrival.
With his cultivation weakening over time he had to retreat or fight to the death, the only problem was if he were to flee with Xiaoling she would very likely die after the Soul Transition.
The body was incredibly feeble and weak after the process has been completed and hence she must be kept stationary for a short period.
If he were to fight in his current state it would further damage his decrepit body, even with the assistance of a Soul Weapon like Erebus.
Glancing to Xiaoling in the hut behind him he wondered to himself, ‘Is it destined that we are to be separated once more?’
