The Nine Coloured Paragon - Chapter 6
Hearing the young girls scream, the carriage came to an abrupt halt.
Gaius pounced off the front of the carriage spryly sprinting around the back only to hear the silent weeping of a girl.
He slid open the coarse curtains to a sight he would never forget.
A little girl of roughly four or five years shook the stiffened body of a wrinkled gaunt old man.
The silent weeping and pitter-patter of her tears made his heart strings snap, akin to a knife being twisted in his chest.
Standing there, Chiron the physician arrived at his side, rushing past Gaius seeing the old man’s state.
Drawing silver needles from within his robes he began acupuncture treatment, expertly guiding the tips of the hair thin needles into the mans acupoints, injecting his qi through the needles attempting to replace the dying man’s vital energy.
Closing his eyes, Chiron immersed himself in his practice as he investigated the old man’s body with his senses however, something was interfering with him, preventing from seeing within the man’s body.

Within Jianyu’s Soul Chamber, the place where the soul resides there was a group of four figures seated around a round table with nine chairs.
The surroundings were covered in misty black fog, unable to make out anything further than this table. Each of the four figures was a different version of Jianyu, each with youthful features.
There was the golden haired God, the red robed grey haired Devil, the pure white Immortal and the red eyed purple haired Demon.
Each one was quiet as if waiting for something.
Suddenly the surroundings in the Soul Chamber brightened, and three figures could be seen emerging from the mist.
A skeleton in a black robe clattered its way to the table, on the other side a Jianyu who was glowing green with life force took a seat and finally, a monstrous presence followed, one which made all the other Jianyus tremble in trepidation.
A man with flowing nine coloured hair joined the meeting, the others rose from their seats in salutations.
The nine coloured Jianyu waved his hand finally seating himself.
“I have news from the true soul. The death of his body has roused him from his slumber.”, the nine coloured Jianyu stated coldly with a grim expression.
The other Jianyus faces paled hearing this.
They were each fragments of the true soul, and even combined they were a speck of dust before the true soul.
They were merely puppets left controlling the body whilst the True Soul healed its injuries from the skirmish with the Omniverse.
Suddenly a deep rumble from the depths of the Soul Chamber caused the table and chair to vibrate and the other soul fragments teeth to chatter, whether it was from the vibrations or fear no one knew.
Shortly after a figure became visible.
This depiction of Jianyu was devoid of any extraordinary aura or energy, with normal pale and refined features, those of a noble and dark black hair he gazed nonchalantly at the Soul fragments before him.
Suddenly one of the fragments flew from its seat, the Devil, seeking to hide in the depths of the chamber, despite knowing the futility of the action.
Seeing this the other fragments shook their heads.
The True Soul sighed lightly before breathing in sharply.
The fleeing fragment vanished as a red coloured wind entered the True Soul’s mouth.
Shutting his eyes, he re-opened them with a red tint in his formerly hazelnut coloured iris’.
He muttered a few words before the group, “We need a new body, assimilate with me.”
The fragments then flew into his body leaving him alone in the chamber.
He looked up sighing lightly, “Xiaoling”, he muttered to himself.
“I’ve failed you once more my love”. Thinking of that person his eyes glowed with determination once more, a flame of desire was sparked once more.
He sensed a presence approaching in the distance.
“Soon, we will be re-united as a family, like you always wanted.”
His wife’s visage faded into his memories once more.
For now he must look after his daughter first.

Within the carriage, the physician Chiron sighed dejectedly at the corpse before him. The heart had stopped beating and all signs of life had vanished.
Xiaoling was curled to the side weeping quietly while the Principal felt the connection to his Master fade.
In their moment of despair they failed to notice the black colour creeping through the corpse’s lifeless locks, the wrinkles fading from its emotionless face and its gaunt outline inflating.
As if a zombie, the corpse sat up stiffly gazing around the carriage.
“Xiaoling”, a stern but gentle voice called her, one she would never forget.
“Father!”, she excitedly dove into his embrace holding onto him as if he would dissapear.
“Silly girl, I will never truly be gone, no matter what.”, he whispered wiping the tears from her face.
He looked towards Gaius and Chiron, “You have both done a great service for my daughter and I, while I cannot repay you as I am now, I will watch over your descendants in time to come.”
The Principal nodded and replied, “It was only what any other person would have done, nothing worth mentioning.”
Meanwhile Chiron was flabbergasted by the man sitting before him. A medical miracle had just occured before his very eyes. The formerly ancient looking body before him not only resurrected but restored its vitality.
Seeing his old friends shocked expression the Principal revealed a knowing look, “My Master cannot be judged by normal means, as a being beyond Godhood he can perform many feats beyond our comprehension.”
While it eased Chiron slightly he was jolted by the fact he had attempted to save such a profound existence with his meagre knowledge of medicine.
Jianyu swiftly turned to face Xiaoling with a sombre look,”Ling’er, I don’t have much time. Take this trinket, it will allow me to know your situation and it is a one way communication device, so you can talk to me at any time, however I will be unable to respond.
A kind auntie will come and take you to a safe place soon.”, finishing his instructions he hugged his daughter tightly before his body began to disintegrate, turning to dust in the carriage.
Xiaoling’s body shook lightly understanding she would be unable to see her father for an unknown period of time, however she rejoiced knowing he was not truly gone and was watching her from afar.
The two old men gazed at the girl, bewildered by the events taking place, but also filled with respect towards the brave girl.
Truly a tiger father would not birth a dog daughter.
Xiaoling looked up to see a ghostly image in the corner of the carriage, one only she could see.
It was her father smiling gently at her.
She smiled back, before her father raised his head towards the roof or the carriage and vanished from sight.
He was gone.
But she knew it was only temporary, as who could hinder her father?
Her smile brightened feeling reassured.
Sorry for the long period of absence, I finished my final exams and went on a long holiday thereafter.
This however has given me time to refine my ideas and hopes of where this story is going and will continue to.
Will try to be as consistent as possible with chapters,
