The Nine Lords Of Order - Chapter 12

After Louis admitted defeat there was a long silence in the arena. Everyone was shocked silly. Wasn’t today be supposed to be a glorious day to say farewell to their chosen? How come he lost? Losing is a soft way to put it He actually got crushed! And who is this mysterious guy? Louis was a peak rank 2 chosen with a five-star path! Although people who weren’t born chosen could also get a 5-star path through effort and lots of luck, it was very rare! At least in the southern territories, there wasn’t anyone like that!

Mars smiled, then he turned to look at the stands were his friends were and then towards the place where the expert from Loftycloud and and king where. He chuckled and reached to his face and removed his mask. What appeared below was the face of handsome looking young man. A few arcs of electricity ran through his hair and it suddenly turned white.

He was revealing himself without his disguise!

“Mars, Chosen from Lugasta, greets the expert from Loftycloud and friends from Bluewaves! I’m glad to be given the opportunity to test the chosen from bluewaves! Surprisingly he made a great opponent and allowed me to showcase my abilities and grant a great show to the people” As he said that Mars looked at the King with a cunning smile.

The King’s face darkened. He remembered saying something similar at the beginning of the match. He had already made some guesses when he saw the arcs of lightning. Who else could wield lightning and also be strong enough to fight Louis? Only the Chosen from Lugasta fitted that description.

From the look of things, this chosen from Lugasta was far stronger than their chosen.

The shady looking youth was shocked as well. A fierce gleam flashed before his eyes.

“So you are the Chosen from Lugasta… I was planning on visiting that place, but it seems you saved me an extra trip.” Suddenly, the soft voice of a young woman echoed in the arena. “I am the 13th elder from Loftycloud Palace. As you might have guessed, I am recruiting Chosen. From your performance, you do qualify to come with me to Loftycloud Palace. Are you willing to join Loftycloud?” The woman smiled at Mars. She was very happy of finding someone who was this outstanding in this backwater place.

Mars smiled. He had already guessed that this person was not recruiting only the chosen from Bluewaves. “Elder, I agree. However, I wonder if I could bring some of my companions along with me?”

“Good. As for companions You can bring one follower with you. Decide fast, we are leaving in three hours. Be at the city gates when it’s time.”

“Only one?”

“Yes, We are traveling on a flying beasts, we can’t afford to bring so many people.” After she said that she gave a last look at Mars and then proceeded to leave.

‘So it’s only one person…’ Mars was suddenly worried. Traveling to Loftycloud Palace was a huge opportunity. He wanted to share this opportunity with his friends but it seemed things weren’t going according to plan.

He looked around and detected many hostile gazes in his direction. ‘It seems I pissed off some people’ After making a signal to his friends he started to leave.

Louis who was in a kneeling position of the floor shook his head. ‘Maybe I’ve grown conceited I should be a bit older than him, but he still overpowered me not in power level, but techniques and skill.’ Quickly patching his wound with ice he stood up as if he was not injured and left as well.

“My King should we follow him?” A middle aged man approached the king from behind and whispered.

“No. There is no point. If we kill him now, we would be disrespecting the Elder from Loftycloud.” The king sighed and turned his gaze towards Louis who was walking away. “I have told Louis to try and make friends with Mars and join forces against the chosen from Redcastle. After all, that chosen is the oldest one among them and he probably already reached rank 3. Even though Mars is strong, he can’t match up against rank 3 beings by himself.” Then the king frowned “How are things going in the Rocky Peaks?”

“Your Majesty, from the last report, it seems the experts from the central territories have lost quite a big amount of people in just by scouting the place. They asked the forces from the three southern kingdoms to become scouts in exchange for benefits. However that place is far more dangerous than we initially thought. Not only have we obtained nothing, we have lost a lot of men as well. However if our scouts find the divine treasure first, then we will bath in many promised benefits. After all, a I don’t think these powerful people would go back on their word”. The middle aged responded.

The king frowned “Contact the Kingdom of Lugasta. Things will be changing in the future. It would be ideal if we found the divine treasure, but if Redcastle finds the divine treasure, then calamity awaits us. The second best scenario is for the Kingdom of Lugasta to find it. We are not in a hostile relationship. It will be beneficial to befriend them.”

Inside the residence they had rented, Mars and the siblings were discussing who else would go to Loftycloud.

“Mars, me and my brother will be returning to Lugasta. Decide who you are going to take among my sisters. We have responsibilities and can’t stay too far away from the Kingdom for so long” Ansfried decided before Mars could say anything.

“I” Mars was also troubled. He knew although Ansfried was saying that, he actually wanted to go as well.

“Don’t worry Mars. Just make sure to come back and visit every so often.” Rowland casually declared. “When you come back you better not disappoint us Mars.” After giving a deep look at Mars, he left the room along with Ansfried.

“Of course! Ansfried, Rowland! In my heart you guys are my brothers!” Mars sighed and looked at both of them leaving.

Then he turned to look at Aila and Ena. ‘What now? How do I chose?’ His gaze moved back and forth among them.

Aila was looking at Mars expectantly, but then saw the look of love within her little sisters eyes and bit her lips. “Mars take my little sister with you She is the youngest one and she” As she was speaking she started sobbing.

Ena also felt teary in her eyes. Out of all the people here, she could be considered the one who was the most attached to Mars.

Mars closed his eyes. When he opened them, he had also made his choice.

He walked forth a hugged Aila. She shuddered and rapidly hugged Mars back. Her blue eyes started to shine ‘Did he chose me?’

“I’m sorry Aila”

Waaah!

Once Aila heard his words she immediately understood. She was not chosen. Although she had told him to chose her little sister, she was still hopeful Mars would chose her. She couldn’t help but collapse on his arms and started crying even harder.

Mars turned his head towards Ena who also had tears in her eyes and gave her a meaningful look. She immediately understood and quietly left the room.

Mars moved his hand and caressed her soft hair. “Aila I promise I will come back soon. I will only be away for a few years. I will come back and marry you! I promise!” He separated from Aila, lifted her delicate chin with his hand and looked at her deeply into her beautiful blue eyes.

When Aila heard his words she couldn’t help but shudder, but then she got angry “Who wants to marry you! You chose Ena and not me! And then you say you want to marry me? Do I look like a fool to y” But before she could finish her lips were sealed tight by Mars. At first she wanted to push him away, but then couldn’t help herself from hugging his neck tightly.

Although he was very close to both sisters, he was closer with Ena. She was also the person Mars spent the most time with. So he chose Ena.

However, when he saw Aila crying, he couldn’t help but feel his heart break apart. He knew why he felt like this. He had long since fell in love with her. With both sisters to be exact. Maybe he just did not want to acknowledge this fact because marriage sounded like a pain.

After kissing for awhile, Aila softened her hug and slowly separated from Mars. She looked straight into his eyes before a red blush appeared on her cheeks. She then turned to look down at her two little feet. She was hesitating about something. Her expression seemed to fluctuate hundreds of times within a second.

‘What’s wrong with her all of the sudden?’ Mars had no idea what was happening with Aila, but suddenly felt his heartbeat accelerate.

After awhile, Aila bit her lips. She had finally decided.

She looked straight into Mars’ eyes, and her hands started to move.

Soon, her clothes fell down to the floor.

I’m very sorry for not posting in so many days!

However from now onwards I will be uploading two chapters every day!

About mature scenes! I’m not sure how I want to do them yet. I don’t want to make something very graphic because thats not what this novel is about. However, I don’t want to avoid writing about something just because it touches a topic I’m not specially comfortable writing with.

Anyways, another chapter will be released in a few hours!
