Grrrraaa!

“Ena step back! Go hide somewhere safe!” As soon as Mars saw how this streak of red lightning did not vanish after landing but instead changed shape into a creature his face darkened.

“Um! Mars, be careful!” Ena knew she would be a burden if she got in the way. So she quickly left.

Elementals are beings formed purely from elemental energy. Once the worldly energy from a single element reached a high enough concentration, Elementals would naturally be born! These life forms were only condensated energy and their behaviour would completely depend on the nature of their own element. While a light elemental might be friendly A lightning Elemental would be extremely fierce and destructive towards anything within its sight.

These lifeforms did not possess solid bodies either and the only way to destroy them was by exhausting their own energy. The problem was elementals usually resided in places where elemental energy was abundant!

The Lightning Valley for example, once this elemental ran low on energy, it could rapidly recharge itself with the use of the falling lightning. This elemental had a body formed from red lightning alone. Sometimes its body had a humanoid shape, the next second it looked like a beast. Because its body had no definite shape, physical attacks were completely useless against it!

Mars guessed that this elemental had a power level over 50000 maybe over 60000! Due to its strong fluctuations and lack of physical body, an elemental could not hide his power level. Thanks to these factors Mars made a quick judgement.

The Lynx was hesitating more than ever. He had a power level of over 9000! It wasn’t even close to matching this elemental.

Rumble! Rumble!

Mars immediately unleashed his aura and activated all his power. The elemental who was about to attack suddenly felt all its energy go out of control. Its body which was formed from red lightning started to alternate between red and blue.

Grrraaa!

“Good! Although this creature is far stronger than me, the suppression effect is far stronger than on regular demon beasts.” Mars analysed the situation and was pleasantly surprised. ‘What is my true origin how can I posses such a great ability?’

However even with all the suppression, the elemental still had a power level of over 12000. In the Lightning Valley, Mars could at most battle against opponents with a power level of 3000 and that’s thanks to the support from lightning. He would have to rely on the Lynx in order to survive!

Growl!

Suddenly the Elemental made an enraged attack! It transformed into a streak of lightning and shot towards the Mars. Although it could sense the Lynx was a far stronger opponent, since Mars aura assaulted him first, it decided to attack Mars first as well!

“Fudge!” Mars did not have time do dodge before the elemental stroke him!

Bang!

Mars just felt a strong current go through his body and was sent flying away. The Lynx saw how Mars was attacked and thought the attack would kill him instantly. However the suppression was not lifted from the elemental so Mars should still be alive. Knowing that he would die soon if Mars suppression was gone it decided to attack the elemental.

The lightning arcs appeared around the Lynx and in the next second a powerful lightning bolt shot from his forehead straight at the elemental. However the elemental just ignored the attack.

Splash!

After the impact, the lightning strike was flawlessly absorbed by the elemental. The Lynx instantly felt despair. It clearly knew physical attacks would be useless so it didn’t even try those. However it did not think his own lightning would be absorbed just like that! However just as it started to plan how to escape he heard a voice from behind.

“You… cat! come over! Although this creature is very strong, it can only perform lightning attacks. These attacks have minimal effect on me!” While Mars was regretting not giving this Lynx a name, he called it over. But before the Lynx could get close to him, the elemental became enraged when it saw Mars was not dead yet. Making a wild screech the elemental attacked again using the same method as before!

Zap!

“Damn you!” Mars once again felt a current go through his body before he was flung far away. Rumble! This time his body was smitten with stronger force and he shattered several rocks on his way before finally landing.

However as the distance between the elemental and Mars increased the supression began to weaken.

The Lynx immediately noticed and was scared out his wits! Instantly it ran towards Mars. However before he could get too close, a lightning bolt stroke his back making fly away while spurting blood all over the place.

It was injured! Luckily part of the suppression was still active so he didn’t’ die. ‘Heavens! That was close! Almost died there! What was I thinking when I decided to tag along?!’ While his heart twisted in regret the Lynx rapidly stood up and ran towards Mars.

“Cough! Cough!” Mars removed some ruble away from him and stood up in a sorry state. Blood was dripping from the corners of his mouth. Although the lightning energy from the elemental would not cause his death instantly. If too many attacks kept accumulating, he would eventually die.

However as Mars saw the Lynx approach him he immediately jumped on his back.

Hiss! The Lynx was startled and enraged by Mars’ actions and prepared to shake Mars off. But before it could do anything it received a fierce slap on the back of his head!

“Shut it! Wanna live or what?” Mars was very displeased with this uncooperative creature. “Listen! You are cat alright? So you are very fast and agile. Within my field of suppression that Elemental is just slightly faster than you. Your job is to get me close enough to that thing! I have a technique that can potentially send that thing’s energy into complete chaos for a few seconds. I don’t think we can kill it even after that… however we can use the opportunity to escape.”

The Lynx which was displeased with how Mars was treating him after all the things he did for him, calmed down after he listened to him. ‘Good! He has a plan! I almost thought of ditching him! If I had done that, I doubt I could had escaped with my life later!’

Meow!

Mars heard the cat meow. Apparently it had agreed with the plan. Previously he did not have the time to react before being smitten by the elemental. However if he could place his palms on its body then he would be able to use his art ‘electrical disruption’ to send the elemental’s energy into chaos.

Boom!

A sudden red arc of lightning fell in front them. The Lynx immediately jumped back and barely avoided the attack.

The elemental gave a wild screech and kept throwing a barrage of attacks.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Tens of lightnings fell all over the area. Some could be avoided, some others stroke Mars and the Lynx. After a few minutes many rocks were coated with red blood. Some came from Mars and some from the Lynx.

The lynx was running all over the place, dodging as many attacks and trying to get close to the darned elemental. However their injuries were accumulating. They didn’t know how much they could hold on.

Boom! A fierce arc of lightning passed just a few millimeters away from Mars head. However after this attack, the elemental stopped attacking. The elementantal’s body had suddenly dimmed in brightness and started absorb lightning from the clouds.

“Brother cat! Go! Go! Go!” This was the opportunity they had been looking for!

The Lynx saw the opportunity as well and with his fastest speed, it quickly dashed towards the elemental!

Scrrar!

The elemental noticed his enemies approaching and several lighting strikes flew towards them.

“Fudge! This thing is cheating!” Mars saw the incoming attacks and couldn’t help but curse. However the Lynx was not willing to wait for another opportunity to appear. The both of them were already injured, if they waited for another opportunity, they would probably die before that opportunity came to them.

Gritting his teeth the lynx covered his body in arcs of lightning and dashed straight through the attack.

“Brother cat!” Seeing the fierce attacks about to fall on the Lynx cat grew worried.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Blood flew everywhere! The Lynx forcefully broke through the barrage of attacks and closed the gap between them and the elemental. However before he could reach any closer, he felt his vision start to blurry. The Lynx made a quick decision and threw Mars from his back straight towards the elemental.

Mars quickly reacted as well. Now he was right in front of this elemental. Since it was weakened and it had just performed a fierce barrage of attacks it couldn’t react on time. Mars made a claw gesture and fiercely grabbed at the elemental!

Grrrraaa!

The technique ‘electrical disruption’ instantly activated. The elemental’s energy turned completely chaotic and red lightning arcs started going berserk. One of the red lightning arcs hit Mars on the shoulder and sent him flying back while spurting blood all over the place.

After landing, Mars felt he couldn’t stand anymore. “So troublesome!” Mars also felt dizzy but he knew he couldn’t lose time. Ena who had been watching close by this whole time suddenly ran from her hiding spot. She quickly grabbed Mars and placed him on her shoulder. However as she prepared to leave she heard Mars’ feeble voice.

“Wait!… The Lynx! Take… him… with us!”

So you guys might have noticed that the tile has suddenly changed… Recently I’ve been working on the outline for this novel and was deciding which direction I would develop the story. I believe this new title is more suitable since it aligns with the future development of this story.
