The Nine Lords Of Order - Chapter 35
After Persian heard Mars’ order it meowed once and then it transformed into a blue streak of lightning which travelled all around the battlefield. Every place the streak passed blood would fly. In the blink on an eye, every enemy had a hole in the middle of their chest and vacant expression on their faces. Even the most powerful middle aged man was not spared from this attack.
Fa-thuds!
The sound of bodies falling immediately startled all the members from Brittany’s squad. They fighting for their lives just a few seconds ago, but now all their enemies had died in an instant. Feeling how unreal the situation was they turned their gazes towards the full sized Lynx which was now elegantly sitting besides Mars while wagging his tail.
They had seen this little cat before but they had never imagined that this cat was actually a demon beast holding so much power.
Everyone immediately turned respectful and subconsciously lowered their heads a bit. Even if they were fully recovered they would still be far from enough to defeat this lightning Lynx.
Noticing this Lynx was very respectful to this youth and considering he just used a World technique, the idea that this person was actually an important descendant from a big family was reinforced. They knew they couldn’t afford to offend him.
Brittany took a deep breath and took a step forward while bowing, “Young master we thank you for your assistance. If it wasn’t for you, we would have died in this place.”
She grabbed a spacial bag from her waist and offered it to Mars. “Here is what we promised” Then she took another look at Mars calm face and then at the Lynx which was acting nonchalantly after killing so many experts. She gritted her teeth and moved her hand towards her waist, she was going to offer Mars another bag with the rest of the Turinium.
“This enough, you can keep what’s yours” Mars took his reward and glanced at its insides. However he was slightly disappointed that there was only half a fist of Turinium. This was far from enough to craft a weapon.
On the other hand Brittany sighed in relief. She even thought Mars was kind and magnamious. Many of her squad members had died for this piece of Turinium. It would be a pity if all was lost.
To forge a weapon from Turinium would be the ideal thing to do, however with her current strength it wouldn’t be long before someone tried to steal the Turinium from her. Not to mention she had several squad members under her and she had the responsibility to split the benefits. Her goal was to exchange her piece of Turinium for Merit points, she guessed she would obtain more than enough merit points to ascend one of the islands!
Mars looked at Brittany and asked, “Where did you find this? Do you think there is more Turinium where you found it?”
“This to be honest we did not find it, but it just fell from the skies.” Brittany organized her thoughts and proceeded to tell Mars how she obtained the Turinium.
It turned out that she had been working with another squad in the Lightning Valley in order to search for treasures. When they were heading back they saw a flash of light falling a kilometer away from them.
This turn of events took them by surprise and they thought it was meteorite. After they closed in, they saw a few pieces of Turinium lying in the middle of crater enveloped in arcs of electricity. Afterwards Brittany’s squad was ambushed from behind by the squad they were working with and a fight for the Turinium broke out. They barely managed to escape along with the Turinium and a few hours later they meet him in this place.
“My guess is that the Turinium comes from Lightning Valley. Several months ago the amount of lightning strikes increased several times in the Lightning Valley and many natural treasures started to appear. Since the Turinium we found was still enveloped by a few lightning currents we guess it must be related to the recent phenomenon affecting the Lightning Valley.” Brittany quickly analyzed the situation and said to Mars.
Mars frowned at her response. This woman in front of him looked quite upright and he was almost certain that she wasn’t trying to deceive him.
He thought he might be able to search for more Turinium but it seemed things might not be as simple as he initially thought. However since he was heading towards the Lightning Valley, he thought it wouldn’t be a waste of time even if he spent some time searching for more Turinium. If he could get craft a sword from Turinium his lethality would increase several times!
“Alright, that’s enough. I have to get going on my journey so this our farewell.” Mars realized he wouldn’t get any more useful information from this woman so he decided it was time to resume his journey.
“Yes, of course! I apologize for interrupting young master’s journey and we thank you for your assistance! I hope young master has a fruitful time traveling!” Bowing her head one more time Brittany sincerely bade her farewells as well.
Mars gave Brittany one last look before he grabbed Ena’s hands and quickly left.
A few minutes later Brittany saw Mars and Ena disappearing inside the forest.
“We should get going as well. We barely escaped calamity this time and many of our comrades died in this trip. Also Don’t mention a word about what happened. That guy must be someone important and with great force backing him up. It’s better if we don’t mess with him in any way possible.” Her gaze was serious as she said this.
A few minutes later Eanred passed through this open field. He soon found the signs of battle and several corpses lying all over the place. He noticed many of the corpses had lightning remnants in their wounds. The Lightning attribute wordly energy in the area had also been stirred not too long ago. ‘Did Mars had a fight here? He obviously crushed these fools He probably left a few minutes ago. I should be fairly close to them if that’s the case.”
With some doubts in mind he soon got going as well.

“Mars, the technique you used back in the open field, was it actually a World technique from legends?” Even though Ena was used to Mars numerous techniques, she had also been stunned by the attack he used when he exterminated his enemy.
“Yes, it could be considered one.” Mars said.
“But the texts in the palace said only rank 6 beings can use them” Ena responded
“Ena, we often use the star rank just as a method for classifying the quality of our paths of power. However you should understand the reason owning a path of power of higher quality provides greater training speed and greater strength is because the higher the quality path of powers are closer to the truths and laws from the world. A high star ranking path of power aligns and interacts to a greater extent with the world. A better interaction with the world allows people to perform more wonderful arts and techniques with their energy.
“A World technique is basically a technique created when this interaction with the world is taken to another level. The texts say only rank 6 experts can use them, however those texts are based on experts who own 5-star paths of power. Since I own a 7-star rank path of power I can interact with the world in ways those experts can’t.” Mars finished his explanation with his signature calm smile.
“So in a single sentence… you can use a world technique only because you own a 7-star path of power?”
“Well! You can think of the star rank as a permit which allows a person to interact with the truths and laws from the world. The higher the star rank, the more you can interact with the world. Because I own a 7-star path of power I can interact with the world more easily and don’t need so much energy to launch a World technique. Someone with just a 5-star path of power will need a lot more energy to affect the world and launch a World technique. They need so much energy they actually need to become rank 6 beings before forcefully unleashing a World technique”
“Oh” Ena finally understood. It looks like the difference in star ranks wasn’t as simple as she had originally thought. However she was sure this information had not been taught to them yet within the palace. She guessed Mars must have made some research on his own.
After walking for a few minutes Ena remembered other matter, “Mars, do you think we’ll find more Turinium? I heard father owns a sword which is made from this metal. Uncle Hemarc said that common weapons would just split in half after clashing with a weapon made of Turinium even if the user possesed weaker strength.”
“Yeah, I did not think we would actually find Turinium in this place. In fact we are too weak to own Turinium. If news spread out, the Ascending Devils faction would not be the only ones after us.” Once Mars thought about the Ascending Devils faction he smiled in contentment. They thought they were so great and tough but in the end he had cornered them and caused countless members to leave their faction. He was even feared by them.
Soon they heard a fierce gust of wind coming from their behind their backs, When they turned around they realized it was Eanred who had been dashing towards them at full speed.
