The Nine Lords Of Order - Chapter 38

“No wonder the Bluecloud faction got exterminated Just the overwhelming aura had us paralyzed. If I’m not mistaken there must be a rank 6 elemental leading that swarm” Mars had previous encountered an elemental and although he was almost killed back then, he never feared the creature for a second. This time however the number of elementals was just too much. Even though he knew he was going to be safe, their aura of destruction and their number were so great that he was left shaken.

Mars realized that his fingers were still shaking and he bit his lips while lowering his head. He thought feeling fear was something humiliating. He must always be strong and the strong should not be afraid of anything.

“Mars, some elementals clearly noticed us, why did they not attack us?” Eanred finally recovered a little and asked.

Mars started to bandage his arm once again and responded, “This is something I discovered when I first entered the red lightning area several months ago. As you might know, an elemental’s body is made purely of their respective element. I realized that elementals did not fight against each other or against other demon beasts which resided in the red lightning area. However they did attack me and persian who also possess the lightning element.

“So I assumed that they will not attack creatures which own the same type of energy as them. This does not mean they will not attack anyone who posses the lightning attribute. If they detected a lightning source which is weaker, like the blue lightning, then they will try to devour this source. However if the source is just about the same level as theirs then they will leave it alone. Since I can unleash a red lightning aura then they probably think that I’m just like them. Elementals are not intelligent after all, they only act on instincts.”

Mars knew that his theory might not be entirely correct, but that was not too important. What mattered was that his method worked.

Eanred contemplated his response and nodded. Although he still had some questions, it wouldn’t be polite to ask about Mars’ secrets.

Taking a deep breath Mars smiled at Eanred, “See, I told I could deal with these situations. There was nothing to worry about. Since I have proven to you that I can protect myself, then there is no need for you keep delaying your ascension towards the floating islands. You told me you wanted to go to the Loftycloud palace right? Let’s go, I’ll scort you towards the outskirts from the valley.”

“Scort?” Eanred lips twitched. “I’m stronger than you, alright? Don’t speak to me like that!” That was the most dangerous encounter he had ever faced in his entire life! The whole situation was beyond dangerous. Just as he was going to try to once again convince Mars that staying in this place was not a good idea… the ground below them started to tremble.

Rumble! Rumble! Soon the trembling of the earth became stronger and it almost made them lose their balance

“Um?” Just when Eanred was wondering what was going he saw Mars expression changing into one of shock, “What is it?”

“Golem! It’s a Golem! Run NOW!” Mars had once experienced the ground tremble like this when he saw a golem several kilometers away half a year ago. However he could now tell this trembling was intensifying which meant the golem was probably heading in their direction!

Grooowl! Soon enough a creature made of stone and lightning appeared walking behind a mountain! This golem was as tall as the mountain and just by stretching his hand it would be able to touch the clouds above. Mortals might think this creature was a divine titan capable of shouldering the heavens and destroying the earth. What was shocking though was that this Golem seemed to be running away from something!

Roaaar! Soon the roar of a dragon traversed the lands. Just the sound wave created by the roar left Mars and Eanred in dizziness! They felt as if everything was spinning and their visions darkened. Ena who was weaker than them could not resist the powerful roar and immediately fainted.

“Ena…!” Luckily Mars managed to react and took her into his arms before she fell to the ground. When he saw she had just lost consciousness he sighed in relief.

“Persian… take us away from this place!” Still in a state of dizziness Mars gave the order.

But to his discovery Persian was actually lying in the floor unconscious while foam leaked from his mouth. ‘What happened? He was just fine a second ago… Could it be that the roar poses a greater effect on demon beasts?’

Whatever happened, there was no time to waste. Mars turned his gaze to Eanred and said, “Eanred you carry Persian! Let’s get out from this place!” Persian was actually in his normal form so carrying him was not so easy. Mars could only ask Eanred to carry him on his back.

“Got it! Let’s get out of here!” Without hesitation Eanred picked Persian and started running away with Mars.

Eanred wanted to check the situation behind them so he took a peak towards the golem. This was the first time he had seen such a majestic creature so even though the situation was dangerous he still held some curiosity. However this was a decision he would later regret…

Crackle! Boom!

A sudden flash of light illuminated the whole sky and for a few seconds the night shined several times brighter than the most resplendent day.

A black thunderbolt descended from the clouds with an aura which could exterminate everything! If it landed on the earth, this thunderbolt would be able to turn countless mountains into dust. If it landed on the sea, countless aquatic lifeforms would instantly die!

Eanred who had turned his gaze towards the golem saw this lightning descend and suddenly felt his eyes burn. “Ahhh!” He screamed in pain and he rolled on the ground while covering his eyes.

The golem who was trying to run away growled when it saw this thunderbolt. It tried to dodge to the side however it still failed to avoid the attack and the black thunderbolt easily tore a hole through its chest. The Golem stumbled for a few steps before the light in its eyes disappeared and its body started to fall to the ground.

Boom! The lands shaked as if doomsday was coming. Even the mountains in the surroundings started to crumble after the golem landed.

Mars who was running couldn’t maintain his balance and quickly fell to the ground. He could see countless cracks splitting the ground apart.

Touching his head he felt dizziness. After the powerful crackle of thunder he was feeling some blood was streaming out from his ears. He turned his gaze towards Eanred and saw that he was screaming while holding his eyes.

‘What is going on?” Mars was starting to realize how dangerous the situation was. Eanred had been screaming for a while however the previous thunder had damaged his ears so he did not hear him scream. He just felt something was buzzing inside his head.

“Eanred! Eanred!” Still feeling a bit dizzy Mars called out. However Eanred also had his eardrums damaged and could only hear the same buzzing inside his head. He also felt that his eyes were burning.

After a few seconds Mars felt the ground vibrating again. Turning his gaze towards the golem. He was surprised when he saw this golem was lying on the ground without moving.

“Wh what happened? Is it dead?” Soon Mars saw a claw covered in blue scales descending from the black clouds. What was shocking was that this claw was as big as the golem. Who knew how big the creature behind this claw actually was?

The claw slowly approached the fallen golem and dragged him up to the sky. Soon both figures disappeared above the dark clouds. Mars could only tremble before such sight. He only knew he was less than an ant before this powerful divine beast.

The vibrations in the ground kept getting stronger and stronger which woke up Mars from his daze.

Screech! Suddenly a Lightning Eagle flew above Mars and quickly disappeared in the distance. Mars could tell this eagle possed a rank 5 power! Luckily it was also fleeing and it had ignored him.

Turning his head Mars soon saw a cloud of dust lifting up in the horizon. Considering the ground was continuously shaking he reached a conclusion in no time.

“An stampede” His face quickly turned a shade paler. If he was not mistaken, there would be countless rank 5 demon beasts running within this stampede. Mars could already imagine the consequences of getting caught inside such stampede!

“Damn it! Eanred let’s go!”

“I can’t I can’t see! That lightning the flash burned my eyes! I can’t see!” After a few moments the buzzin inside his ears had already reduced considerably and he could barely hear Mars yelling at him in the distance. However he couldn’t see! After he opened his eyes there was only darkness!

“You can’t see what now…” Mars clenched his fists. He could tell the situation was deteriorating by the second.

Ena and Persian were unconscious, Eanred couldn’t see and an stampede was coming.

Mars was now regretting coming here. He didn’t know how to deal with the current situation. Eanred had given him many warnings before, but he didn’t listen.
