The Nine Lords Of Order - Chapter 42

Currently there was a demon beast lying dead a few meters away from the group. This demon beast was actually very strong and even under Mars suppression only Persian was able to deal with it. They had been very careful but they still encountered a few demon beast around this level as they travelled.

Mars looked around and said while sighing in relief. “We should be close to the outskirts I recognize this place, I bet we will be out from the valley after a few hours of travelling.”

“Mars Persian is acting strange” Just as Mars was looking around Ena suddenly said.

“Acting strange?” Mars was startled and realized that Persian was looking around with narrowed eyes and was crouching on the ground.

He immediately realised something was wrong so he quickly unleashing his aura of suppression once again and raised his guard. ‘Is it another demon beast?’

Rumble!

For a few seconds Mars and company could only hear the sound from the thunderstorm.

Rumble!

“Careful!” Just as another thunderbolt echoed through the valley Mars also saw an arc of lightning suddenly streaking towards Persian from the corners from his eyes. If lightning had a weakness, then it would be that a loud crackle would follow after it was used. Apparently the ambusher was using the thunder from the valley to cover the sound from his own attack.

Persian quickly reacted and managed to dodge backwards at the last second. However his front paw was still graced by attack and some blood flowed from his injury.

Hiss!

Suddenly a large snake covered in lightning appeared before them blocking their path. The snake stared at Mars provocatively. It then hissed and unleashed its powerful aura. What was terrifying that this snake actually possessed a power level above 7000! This was considering the fact that this snake was actually under Mars suppression! Mars guessed this demon beast would be able to easily deal with them if it were not for the suppression.

If Ena had not noticed Mars about Persian’s behaviour then this ambush would had been lethal!

Taking a second look at this snake Mars narrowed his eyes. He wasn’t completely sure but he guessed that this was the same snake he had fought inside the fissure! He thought it would soon die after it fell into that abyss, but it had actually managed to survive! Moreover, it was completely healed…

On the other hand, greed flashed on the snake’s amber eyes. After it had been thrown into the abyss, it had thought it would soon die. It had landed in an underground river and was carried away, even though it had not died from the fall, if nothing unexpected happened, it would soon bleed to death. However the snake soon realised that its body was recovering at an incredible speed and its own bloodline was changing!

Confused the snake carefully thought about its previous encounter and then it remembered that it had biten a chunk from his enemy’s flesh before being caught and split apart! It was the blood and flesh from his enemy which had suddenly triggered some sort of profound change on its body. The bottlenecks which had held it back for so many years suddenly loosened and not only did its body recover, but its strength rapidly increased as well!

After a couple of days the snake completely recovered from all its injuries. Thinking about the huge benefits eating that this enemy of his would bring to it, greed and desire flashed before its eyes. As a hunting type demon beast it had remembered the scent of blood from his enemy. After a few days of searching, it had finally found Mars.

However the snake did not dare to attack. It could tell there was a strong demon beast guarding his enemy. It did not know how strong this demon beast actually was, so it had decided to follow Mars and check out the strength from this demon beast after they left the cave. In the end it had realised that this demon beast wasn’t that strong, however it still wouldn’t be able to deal with it under Mars suppression.

Hiss!

The snake amber eyes suddenly turned blue and several tens of snakes suddenly crawled below rocks and crevices. Soon they had surrounded their preys. Although the snake was not strong enough, with enough help, it was confident enough to deal with his enemy!

“Damn!” Looking around Mars could tell there were almost a hundred snakes surrounding them. Although none of them were as strong as the bigger one which was blocking their way, if all of them attacked together then they would have a hard time protecting themselves and would soon be killed by them!

“Mars” Ena noticed the severity of the situation and took a step closer to her lover.

Hundreds of thoughts flashed through Mars mind, in the he gritted his teeth and ordered, “Persian, protect me and Ena for 10 breaths of time! Also, leave Eanred with us!” The situation was bad and Persian wouldn’t be able to exert all its strength if it was carrying Eanred. Mars also had a plan, but he needed some time!

Hiss!

Crackle! The biggest snake gave some sort of order and immediately every snake in the encirclement turned into a streak of lightning and attacked!

Hiss! Persian who also knew how to hiss unleashed its lightning to release and area of effect attack. Persian was much stronger than all these demon beast but the attack could only send them flying back without many injuries.

There were just too many of them! Although Persian was strong, sometimes quantity will win over quality. His attacks would be able to cause these demon beasts to step back, but it wouldn’t be able to injure them! After this cycle repeated several times, it would soon run out of energy.

Fortunately Mars already had a way out of this situation! He raised his palm towards the clouds and made a grasping motion, soon several lightning strikes began to gather in his hands.

He was preparing to unleash his world technique and kill all these snakes in a single blow! Soon Mars felt his hand vibrate with energy and with a motion he sent a lightning strike back into clouds!

Rumble! Rumble!

The clouds were stirred started to move in a spiral. Giant arcs of electricity streaked across several hundred kilometers and gathered on top of Mars. The thunder roared and crackled and a powerful aura of destruction suddenly overwhelmed every creature below the clouds!

Several thousand kilometers away, in an enormous cave, the breaths of a gigantic creature could be heard. Just the air breathed out from this creature was enough to create tornadoes and storms. It was impossible to imagine how powerful this creature actually was. Suddenly this creature opened its eyes and stared into the distance.

“That aura feels familiar”

Eanred couldn’t see but he was also shaken by the aura.

Feeling the enormous power in his control Mars smiled. “Persian! Return!” Then he dropped his arm and pointed at group of snakes.

“Fall!”

Boom! A flash of light illuminated the lands and instantly the tens of snakes turned into dust! Some of the stronger snakes tried to resist but their efforts were futile. They were able to hold on for more than a breath, but soon the overwhelming power destroyed their bodies.

Fu! Mars suddenly kneeled down and gasped for breath. This time he had used all his energy to unleash this attack and he was completely empty now. Even the energy from this overcharge gem was used.

Although it would be difficult to unleash this technique in a normal battle, since he had Persian’s protection, he was able to do it.

“Did we win?” Eanred did not know what the hell was going on but since he was fine and an awkward silence made its presence after the last roar of thunder, he assumed they had probably won.

“Yeah, we won” Mars tiredly smiled. “Let’s get out here before more trouble arrives.”

“Um” Eanred who was standing beside Mars moved in front of him and extended his hand to help Mars stand up again. Although he couldn’t see, he could tell where Mars was from his voice.

Mars was about to grab his hand when…

Crackle!

A sudden arc of lightning appeared below the rubble flying straight towards them.

Everything happened so fast nobody reacted in time.

Mars just felt this arc of lightning grace his cheek and then it landed behind him.

Turning around he realised it was the big snake who had a power level over 7000. It had actually survived the previous attack! Only that now its body was badly mutilated and its aura unsteady. That attack was probably the last thing it could do under its current situation.

Hiss! Persian quickly dashed towards this snake and with a bite in chopped its head off. Without a head it was killed beyond all doubts.

Feeling cold sweat on his back, Mars thought if the attack was slightly more accurate he would have died right there.

“Mars Eanred he” Ena trembling voice came from his side so he quickly turned around.

“Wh This” Mars carried a shocked expression as he realised that there was now a bloody hole on Eanred’s chest. He could even see through it

Pu-thud!

Puh! Eanred suddenly fell to his knees and with trembling hands he reached towards his chest while he coughed a lot of blood.

At this moment Eanred opened his blind eyes and looked up. Even though he couldn’t see, Mars could feel his gaze on him.. He raised his right hand and placed it on Mars’ shoulder. Making one last helpless smile, he then closed his eyes and his body slowly fell on the cold soil…
