The Nine Lords Of Order - Chapter 47
As soon as his blood touched the ring Mars could feel there was now some sort of connection between them. Raising an eyebrow he injected some of his energy into the ring and this time he was able to see what lay inside.
Just the space here was several hundred times greater than all his spacial bags combined. Mars made some quick calculations and guessed that there were probably several square kilometers worth of space inside this ring.
He was not sure how expensive this ring was but he guessed it was extremely valuable. Guessing that this ring was awarded to him because he did great in the test Mars smiled.
After looking around for a while he discovered there were only five items inside this ring; A book, a stone, a blue combat uniform, a whistle and a blue token which had his name on it.
He decided to take a look at book first. The cover was white and decorated with golden linings. After flipping through a few pages he realised that this book contained all sort of information regarding the three palaces and this world. The first couple of pages held information regarding the history about the three palaces and the mainland.
The continent he was living was divided in four major areas. The northern, southern, and central territories were considered part of the mainland. Far away in the east and several hundred kilometers into the ocean there was a place called the the Fallen god’s Archipelago. That place pretty much consisted of several hundred scattered islands.
However it was not always like that. Twenty thousand years ago those scattered islands were still part of the mainland. However everything changed after an event which is referred as the War of the Fallen God. Twenty years ago a mighty deity pierced through the boundaries of this world with a divine charriotte and ended up landing in place which was once called the Eastern Reaches. Unfortunately this deity was injured and soon died.
This deity wore divine equipment and mighty weapons of destruction, after the deity died people grew greedy for his treasures. War soon broke out and the most powerful warriors of the world fought a long bloody war to obtain these treasures.
After tens of years of war an army of demons joined the battle for the treasures. They came from a land which was located farther away in the eastern ocean. This land was located several million of kilometers deep into the ocean and the people of the mainland referred to it as the Demon continent.
The forces belonging to the demon race were not as great as the ones in the mainland but they were united. They swept and massacred countless forces in the mainland with great momentum. Billions were slaughtered and even the rivers turned red from all the flowing blood. After seizing several divine treasures the demons began to settle and establish their own foundations in the mainland. After this they continued to expand their territory through plunder and slaughter. However as they grew in power, the unity between them began to fade.
The war lasted for hundreds of years. It was a dark era for the world and every living creature lived with fear and anguish. However in this era of darkness countless heroes appeared as well. Many of them rose and fell as they defended the mainland. Among those heroes were the ancestors of the five great clans and three palaces.
As they fought more and more their strength continuously increased. After several hundred years they managed to breakthrough rank 9 and united the remaining forces of the mainland.
The war quickly intensified and after countless more conflicts they finally managed to push the Demon race to the Eastern reaches. There the final fight took place. The lands and mountains twisted and collapsed. The skies cried and where there was land before, new oceans appeared. In the end the the mainland forces managed to deal a heavy blow to the Demon race and won the war. The Demon race fled through the oceans and they disappeared from the mainland since then.
Unfortunately the Eastern reaches were destroyed in the final battle. Vast areas of land were decimated and ocean water soon filled those gaps. Only a few pieces of land survived and became islands. Several hundred years later that place became known as the Fallen god’s Archipelago.
After the war ended most heroes went their separate ways. Some of them went to the south and some to the North. Among the war heroes eight came to the central territories and founded the three palaces and five clans.
Several thousand of years have passed since then and now the three palaces stand as the dominating force in all the mainland.
Mars took a deep breath after reading this. Even though he lived as noble back in the kingdom of Lugasta, this was something he had never even heard about. He was sure this was not information anyone could obtain. Unfortunately this history segment was very brief and many details were missing. He still had many questions and doubts, he guessed he would discover more about these events in the future.
Flipping a few more pages he discovered that the palace rules were also inscribed in this book. There were rules like ‘No fighting outside the arena’ but nothing too eye catching. Mars also found a map of Loftycloud in the book along with the description of several facilities and schools within the island.
After flipping several more pages Mars put down the book and took out a round shaped stone out of his spacial ring. Apparently this was the communication stone the 13th elder spoke about. Thinking initiating a communication with her by accident would be terrible turn of events Mars quickly placed this stone back into his ring without hesitation.
The next item was the blue combat uniform. This uniform had and round insignia on the right chest area. This insignia had a mountain and a cloud along with the words ‘Lofty’ and ‘Cloud’ inscribed on it. However the insignia was the same color as the uniform so it wasn’t too noticeable. This uniform had long sleeves and a simple yet elegant design.
Without hesitation he quickly changed and put on the uniform. He wasn’t sure what this uniform was made of but the material was soft and resistant. After throwing several kicks and punches he confirmed that he had enough mobility and nodded in satisfaction.
“Not bad” Looking at himself Mars carried small smile. If there was a mirror nearby his slight narcissistic nature would erupt and he would probably waste some time admiring how good the uniform looked on him.
The next item he took out was the token. This token was not too different from the insignia on his chest. The main difference between the token and the insignia was that the inscriptions were drawn with black lining. Turning the token around was his name ‘Mars’ imprinted.
Storing the token Mars soon took out the last item which was an ancient looking whistle. After inspecting it for awhile he placed it on his lips and blew on it.
Hwiiiiiis
The sound of whistle was very loud and it echoed through the forest.
Looking around he noticed absolutely nothing had happened. ‘I sure as hell hope this is not a joke’ Scratching his head Mars was about to continue inspecting the whistle when he heard the cry of a bird coming from above.
With loud flappings a giant eagle quickly landed a few meters away from him while causing a dust storm.
“So this is how I get out of here” Mars quickly mounted the Giant Eagle and flew off the island.
The structure of the Loftycloud island was not too different from the regular kingdom. There was the palace and an area similar to a city around it. The core of the island was obviously the Loftycloud Palace which was divided in an inner and outer palace. However only elder level figures were allowed to reside inside the palace. Normal members usually resided in the facilities around the palace. There were several plazas located all over the island which were surrounded by training facilities, libraries and arenas. Pretty much it was like a city which was specialised in training and nurturing warriors.
Currently far away from those structure, in the border of the island near one of the landing platforms was a handsome black haired young man. This young man was humming a tune with his eyes closed. Within his fingers was entangled a thin silver chain which was less than half a meter long. And at the other end of the chain was a beautiful silver pocket watch.
Suddenly the young man stopped humming his tune an slowly opened his eyes. Silver pupils were revealed and he glanced at his pocket watch.
“It should be about time” The young man mumbled some words and a confident smile appeared on his face.
After a few seconds dust started to fly around and the loud sound of wings flapping filled the area. Soon a giant eagle landed on the platform.
Mars quickly dropped off the eagle and landed on the ground. Looking around he immediately noticed a black haired young man with silver eyes staring at him while he played with a pocket watch.
Mars did not know why but he suddenly felt that this person was incredibly dangerous. His path gem appeared on his chest and his energy quickly began to circulate all over his body.
Surprised Mars quickly entered into a battle stance. This was the first time in his life that his path gem had activated on his own. He could even feel his fighting spirit raising.
Suddenly the young man before him chuckled. “I’ve been waiting for you Mars”
“You how do you know my name? Who are you? You are obviously not here to welcome me, so what do you want?!” Mars wariness increased by the second. He could not tell how strong this guy infront of him actually was, however he could tell he was far stronger than him!
“Oh, how rude of me! I forgot to introduce myself!” The young man chuckled and said with a smile on his face, “My name is Ludokai! And I’m here to offer you a deal!”
In case you don’t remember Ludokai made his first appearance in chapter 25.
