The One Luna - Chapter 26 Returning Home
The moment everybody saw Buencamino on the ground and the women who were thought to have left on their own accord, glaring at him like they wanted to rip his throat out, everybody already had an idea as to what happened.
Luna walked up in front of the crowd, then he spoke. “Everyone, my name is Luna. You might not have heard of me before, but I’m sure you’ve heard of the I’ve founded. The .”
The moment he mentioned that, everyone, including the soldiers looked at him with shock. During the past few days, they had all received the notification of a that has been blazing through this new world. To think that they would see the leader of that very same nation here. Some found it hard to believe.
“Yesterday, some of your fellow evacuees made their way to our territory. A certain Hans Garcia and a woman by the name of Gabriela Silang. The wife of Diego Silang, who was murdered by Buencamino’s men.”
“Diego? I thought he left with his wife? He’s dead?”
“Hans, isn’t that one of the soldiers who tried to stage a coup d’etat?”
“Are you all stupid? Look in front of you, those are the very same women who disappeared! Use a bit of common sense and you’ll figure out that scumbag Buencamino has been lying to us this whole time!”
Luna signaled for everyone to quiet down, then pointed towards the women who were sexually abused. “Correct, these women were found, in chains, while Buencamino and his men abused them on a daily basis.” Looking towards the women, Luna nodded his head, after which, Sura handed each and every one of them a pair of Itak Tagalogs. “The justice you seek is in your hands.”
Buencamino, seeing his fate tried to beg for his life, to no avail. “No no no! Please! I was wrong! Forgive me! NO! AUGHH!!!” The women were planning to butcher him until he was unrecognizable. As his life was ebbing away, Luna went up and dealt the killing blow. He could always use more VIS after all, the more his nation had, the more he can invest in their safety.
Most of the people in the crowd couldn’t handle it and started puking. There were a few who endured it, especially since some of these women were the ones they admired as well, they were filled with hatred. Even when Buencamino was already dead, some of them kept hacking at him still.
Luna stepped in and stopped them. “Enough.” hearing this, the women finally came back to their senses.
“You are all welcome to join the , as long as you abide by our rules and our requirements. If you want to stay here, that’s up to you as well. We leave by the next morning. Let this all be a lesson to everyone. This new world is unforgiving, pretty soon these walls alone will not do anything. The reason why Buencamino thought he could get away with his deeds, was because the Philippine Government has collapsed. There will be no one coming to save you after this day. Only you can control your fate now.”
One of the victims stepped forward and knelt down towards Luna. “Lord Luna, you’ve saved this life of mine, if you’d allow it, I’d like to join you. I wish to become strong, so that no one, man or woman can ever control my fate ever again.”
With that said the rest of them swore their allegiance. After all, besides Luna having saved their lives, they were all still incredibly weak. Being chained in that basement, they had no opportunity to level themselves.
“Very well. As long as you remain loyal to me I will treat you well.” After explaining his requirements of his citizens, Luna formally invited them into the .
One of the soldiers couldn’t help but speak up. “Excuse me, sir Luna, but isn’t what you’re doing basically going against the Philippine government? Creating a nation on Philippine soil?”
Luna walked up to the soldiers, causing them to be wary. “What is your name?”
“Eduardo Rusca, sir.” The man was quick to respond.
“Mr. Rusca, I see. Which Government do you speak of? The one who abused these women? Or the one who abandoned these people, which resulted in Buencamino abusing these women?”
“This…” He didn’t quite know how to answer, so he looked towards his comrades for an answer, but they didn’t have anything to say either.
Seeing that these men didn’t have any answer, he continued. “Those officials of yours might have abandoned these people, leading them to suffer, but I will not. You can make for Manila, if you wish, assuming you can get that far or you could protect the people that are here now. If you decide to join me, then come talk to me by tomorrow.” after saying that, Luna walked away, knowing that they would need to talk among themselves. The only person he was sure would join, was General Leman.
The next day, everybody finished preparing their things. Boni, whom Luna messaged through communications, which was only possible when one purchased a communication center through the shop for 1,000,000 VIS, which fortunately was self-maintained.
This allowed members to use something similar to the system in MMORPGs where you could either use voice comms with people, add them to your contacts, send them a message in text form, or if you were either the leader, like Luna, or high enough ranked, you could contact people within your nation immediately. The only way to contact someone outside your nation using this system, is if you were officially allied with their nation and they had a communication center installed.
Boni, along with the other elites despite being in civilian outfits, looked imposing. Even the soldiers were stunned. Truth is, the shop had a lot of things in it that one could purchase, as long as you had the money for it.
One of them was basic armor, which could also be upgraded. It’s just that Luna knew that time was of the essence, so he went to take care of Buencamino first, thus saving the women, and at the same time achieving vengeance for those who wanted it, making them more inclined to serve him, as well as earning the trust of everybody in the evacuation center.
Elise was with them as well, Boni had informed her that Luna met her father already. She ran towards her father at full speed, recounting her experiences and how she and her friends were saved. Elise was very mindful as well, she made sure to speak loud enough so the soldiers nearby could hear. This would inevitably affect their decision of wanting to join the or not.
As soon as everybody got in the vehicles, it was time to return home.
