The One Luna - Chapter 39 Elven Race
As soon as they got to location, Luna was still shocked. Despite the fact that it was mentioned before, it was still quite a sight to see a huge mass of land moving like that.
As if sensing Luna’s arrival, it accelerated even further. If Luna stayed north, it would have taken much longer for it to move closer, but being so close, it was as if it was a lost ship, finally seeing the beacon it had been searching for.
It stopped just before the shoreline, before thick tree roots popped out from underneath, startling the soldiers, and causing them to be even more wary despite already being in defensive positions.
Luna stepped forward to investigate getting a feel of the roots, which surprisingly enough, were much harder than most metals he has seen before, similar to the adamantite walls. Just then, a silhouette appeared on the other side of the force field covering the landmass. It was the Elf Elder.
Casting a spell that would help him communicate through his intent, the Elder began speaking.
“Greetings. My name is Aran. May I ask for a bit of your time? I promise you that we come in peace and only have intentions of working with each other.”
Luna was pretty wary, especially after using on the old man and seeing that his level was unknown. Luna was already level 49, so this meant that the old man was at least level 65. So why would this old monster need his help? Regardless, if he wanted to harm him, the best he could probably do is flee, so he might as well find out what he wanted.
“Very well then. My name is Luna, the leader of this nation, where shall we talk?”
Sura and Maxene were concerned, as they received the message from Luna to run should he call for it.
“Thank you. Now give me just a second. This thing should be weak enough now.” Right after saying that, he stretched his arm with two fingers pointing forward, as a tiny ball of what seemed like concentrated lightning formed on the tip of his fingers slowly moved forwards the force field.
What followed next was an explosion as it cracked the dome open, what was revealed after was a sight to see. There were tall, thick trees that had tree houses that looked like they came straight out of a fantasy book. It was a huge contrast the gloomy atmosphere that surrounded them.
Right on top of the houses were Elves, they all looked astoundingly beautiful. Each and every one of them despite the Elder could have been the previous world’s top model. Even then, one could tell the the Elder must have been incredibly good looking in his prime.
The Elven Elder, Aran looked towards Luna, but was shocked when she saw the woman and the child beside him. He flew down and landed a few meters in front of Luna.
“I would never have expected that I’d meet a legendary Asura in this world. My apologies for not noticing you any sooner. ” Looking at Maxene he asked as well “You are the daughter of his planet, yes? It is an honor to meet you as well.”
The Elder was so surprised that he’d meet such individuals right after leaving the dome that he almost forgot about Luna’s presence. Sensing his mistake, he quickly apologized. “My apologies, Lord Luna, it wasn’t my intention to be rude, it’s just that…”
“There’s no need to apologize.” Just as he was about to continue, he received a message from Boni.
“Luna, bro, we might need you to come help. I need your help asap! Not much time to explain. Come back quick!”
“I have something to attend to, so if you would like to come with us so we can talk after our business is taken care of.” Without saying another word, he made a mad dash towards the port. It should be known that Boni was already at level 44. After putting the 40 points he gained at level 40 to Strength, there wasn’t many that could match him in strength, much less have him experience a sense of urgency despite him having 185 base points in VIT.
True enough, as soon as he got there, Boni and Mabini were both struggling to defend against what looked like a giant Metoposaurus, that somehow got over the walls. Every time it struck with it’s tail Boni and Mabini had to support each other.
In normal circumstances, they could have taken care of this creature with help from Apple, Maria, and Clara, but the three were doing their best to hold off the other sea creatures. It would have boggled his mind prior to the new world to see so many familiar mainly aquatic creatures turning amphibious. But in this new world, very few things made sense.
Just as Luna was about to charge in, he heard the Elder’s voice from beside him. He was quite shocked, this old man definitely appeared out of nowhere. He was already trying to think up of solutions in case this old man turns on them.
“These creatures getting scared is our fault. You have my apologies, Lord Luna. Allow me.” After reciting an incantation, numerous tiny sparks of electricity appeared above the water and above the two Metoposaurus that Boni and Mabini were fighting.
“Boni! Mabini! Get down!” After seeing how the Elder destroyed the dome, he knew how strong a blast those seemingly weak sparks could make. But, the explosion he expected did not come, the moment it hit the two amphibians, their bodies immediately got electrocuted but there was no explosion. Soon after, they fell over. Dead. No other creatures crawled out of the water as well.
“Lightning is indeed extremely volatile, but as long as someone has the correct degree of control. Even lightning can be controlled to some degree.” Aran gave a wizened smile befitting that of an Elder, towards Luna.
“You have my thanks, Elder Aran. Shall we talk?”
“Of course, Lord Luna.”
After some time, Elder Aran called over the same young lady and middle-aged looking man that he spoke to previously. “Ah, Lord Luna, Lady Sura, this is my Son, Arbane, and his daughter, Alea. We are the Qibalar family. We have been our tribe’s leaders for generations.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Lord Luna and Lady Sura. I can’t believe I’m actually in the presence of someone from the Asuran race.” Alea greeted them, as Arbane gave a simple greeting as well.
“We’re glad to have you as well. Come, let’s head to our residence, so we can talk peacefully there.”
The moment the gates for Luna’s residence opened, the three elves gasped. Elder Aran was pointing forward with his whole body shaking. Arbane and Alea had shocked expressions on their faces as well.
“Life… L-life Tree. That, please tell me that is a Life Tree, Lord Luna!” After managing to get the words out of his mouth, Elder Aran dropped to his knees as tears started pouring from his eyes.
Luna, similarly shocked as well, but towards their reactions on the Life Tree could only answer their question. “Indeed it is.”
What was the secret behind the Life Tree? Why did this Elder who was extremely powerful, burst into tears at the mere sight of it?
