The Optimistic Heroes - Chapter 1 Part 4
The Optimistic Heroes
Chapter 1: Big G and Dash
Part 4, 3000 – 4000 Words
Although Big G was sighing, he could barely stop himself from instantly finding a mirror to gaze at himself.
I failed at trying to sing, what should I do now?
“God has blessed me with such talented hands, I am sure there is something for me to do.”
Big G had always been very satisfied with his hands.
Looking at his thin, long, powerful fingers, he suddenly remembered tales of martial arts that had been circulating for years: “There was a young hero who had come across hard times, and was trying to make some money street performing, when by chance a well known hero and his charming daughter came across him, and were won over by his prowess in martial arts.”
Of course they married and lived happily ever after, becoming a well known tale among martial arts circles.
“Of course, what about making some money by doing street performances? Who wouldn’t be impressed by my kung fu? ”
Big G was so happy that he forget about being hungry. He merely blamed himself for not thinking of this brilliant idea sooner.
It was already dark, but the streets were still bustling.
He started to think, maybe I should have some type of opening speech.
But what should I say?
Big G knew how to talk, he was really good at making inappropriate remarks sound smart and funny. But when it came down to saying something appropriate, he didn’t know where to start.
“Whatever, I don’t need to say anything, people are here to watch me perform. I just have to show off my skills, as if people are not going to gather around me? ”
Big G rolled up his sleeves, tucked in his shirt, and started to perform his proudest kung fu moves.
His fists were like fierce tigers breaking free, his kicks were like plunging dragons, a fury of flying fists representing nothing less than True Kung Fu.
But instead of people coming closer, they kept their distance. There were a few brave spectators, but they merely peaked out from the corners to get a quick look.
“This guy just started punching furiously in the middle of the street, what’s wrong with him?”
Big G was quite impressed by his performance, when he started to feel that something wasn’t right.
It was a good thing he suddenly realized what was wrong.
“This is True Kung Fu, not some fancy martial arts gimmick. These common people don’t know how to appreciate the real thing, fine, I will give them something to look at.”
With this in mind, quicker than a sparrow hawk, BANG, he suddenly punched a big hole through the wall behind him. With a single kick and another loud crash, he knocked down the stone post used for tying horsesof course, his pants were also ripped by such a ferocious kick.
With shouts of panic, people started to run in every direction. Some shops even boarded up their front doors, thinking that some crazy guy in the streets had taken the wrong medicine.
This was Big G’s attempt at street performing. He showed off his amazing kung fu, a deadly sweeping leg kick, and all he had to show for it was ripped pants.
Why didn’t his story sound as amazing as all of those other dejected heroes?
What could he do really? Many things in this world sound amazing, but in reality, there is nothing special about it.
That night, with an empty stomach, Big G slept on the altar of an abandoned temple.
Of course, he could have went to an outstanding restaurant, eat first, stay in a high-end hotel, sleep first, and worry about paying later. Although Big G was a little confused at times, he definitely would never act shamelessly. He would rather die than act disgracefully.
“Even if he wanted to be a bandit, he would be infamously dreadful, not some shameless little crook. ”
On the afternoon of the second day, he suddenly realized that the life of a bandit might not be so bad.
He had no idea where this thought came fromperhaps it had something to do with the incessant rumbling of his stomach.
“Being a thief wasn’t that bad. Many famous bandits robbed from the rich and gave to the poor; these kind of tales had a way of winning repute all throughout the land.”
Therefore, Big G decided to be a bandit, of course he would be a righteous thief, a king of thieves kind of bandit.
This time he had to be successful, he couldn’t afford to fail again.
“To be successful, you have to start with a good plan.”
Who kind of plan did you need to be a thief?
First, obviously you had to find a good target. Someone with money, someone corrupt, a dirty official would be perfect.
If you stole from someone like this, people would clap and cheer, who could blame you?
Big G was getting excited, he looked around everywhere he went, eventually finding a good target.
A villa on the mountainside, really big, a magnificent piece of construction.
The owner surely had a lot of money.
The villa was far from the city, very secluded. The surrounding area was desolate and uninhabited; the closest thing to this villa was a cemetery.
This meant that the owner was certainly not an upright man of integrity. There is no way a righteous person would live in this kind of place.
It was perfect, now he just had to wait for the perfect time to strike.
Night, of course was the best time.
But Big G was getting impatient, around dusk he came charging in.
The first thing he saw was a bed.
Other than this, he couldn’t see a thing.
This villa was huge, magnificently built. All together there were about 30 rooms, and the biggest room could easily fit ten dinner tables.
But with all these rooms, except for this bed, and this person, there was nothing else, not even a desk or stool.
Big G was confused.
