The Pearl Of Vynes - Chapter 31 Onwards To The North
“You’ve certainly done it this time Miles, I’ve never seen so many guards at one time. Who did you piss off this time?” Tane said laughing.
“The Legionnares unfortunately” Miles shrugged. Tane gave a low whistle in amazement.
“You certainly choose the right people to give you an early death” Tane joked.
“Tell me about it” Miles said sighing.
“And you’ve certainly grown a lot youngin’. I nearly crapped myself when you broke the tree in half” Tane said laughing. Alice blushed as she looked at the damaged she had caused.
“We’ll have to head off now, I’m sure the patrols would’ve heard that noise.” Tane said with a serious voice. Miles and Alice strapped in the horse and Tane was already in the back of the cart resting up. Miles and Alice hopped in the driver seat and they were off on their way.
“By the way, you should tell more about this plan of yours. I’m happy to accompany you on one of your usually interesting misadventures” Tane said lying down and making himself as comfortable as possible in between the sacks of grains and food.
“We’re heading north, there’s a couple of people we need to see” Miles said.
“That’s a fair way, think the young one is ready to cross the wastes?” Tane said.
for visiting.
“Well hopefully it won’t have to come to it” Miles remarked hopefully.
“Hey Alice, have I told you the time that Miles and I had to go pig riding in order to win a rare vegetable for a client” Tane said.
“Were you an Brave?” Alice asked.
“Of course” Tane said, rolling back the sleeve on his arm to show a number in the double digits.
“They used to call him The boulder, back in the guild” Miles said laughing.
“What, its only cause I would always rock their world” Tane laughed.
“Can you tell me more about some of your adventures Tane?” Alice asked.
“Sure of course” Tane said, Alice joined Tane and sat in the back of the cart while Tane regaled stories and troubles that the two of them have gotten into. As Alice listened she watched as the stars moved across the sky, the light of the next day breaking over the horizon as they continued to travel onwards. Onwards to the North.
