The Perfect Destiny - Chapter 146

Illusory Reality [11]
With the exception of Zhou Chun’s little episode, everything about this trip was perfect.
Zhou Yi’s travel plan took care of every little thing. Chen Liguo followed after him without needing to bring his brain, his appearance becoming more and more like a little idiot.
Sometimes Zhou Yi would look at him and find it humorous. He reached out to poke his forehead and said, “If I leave you here you won’t be able to go back.”
Chen Liguo was in the middle of feeding pigeons. Hearing his words, he said, “If you leave me here wouldn’t you have to come and find me.”
Zhou Yi thought about it and felt that it really made sense.
Like this they traveled on one road and another, playing around everywhere and only returned to the country when school was about to start.
The university was not in their city, so Zhou Yi had already gotten plane tickets ahead of time.
When all was said and done Chen Liguo’s mother was a little reluctant to part with her son. When she dropped Chen Liguo off at the airport her tears fell despite her usual appearance of wanting Chen Liguo to leave quicker.
Chen Liguo hugged his mother and told her to be well.
His mother said, “Son, if anything happens call home.”
Chen Liguo said, “Okay, I will.”
Zhou Yi waited not far away, giving the mother and son plenty of time.
After saying goodbye Chen Liguo and Zhou Yi entered the security check together.
Zhou Yi only carried a small bag on his body and didn’t bring any other luggage. On the other hand Chen Liguo was stuffed a pile of things from his mother. Although it was a little heavy he still brought it with him.
“Why don’t you want your parents to send you?” Zhou Yi asked. Chen Liguo’s parents had originally wanted to send him to school but Chen Liguo refused.
“What good is there in sending?” Chen Liguo said. “I’m already eighteen.”
Chen Liguo and Zhou Yi spent their eighteenth birthday on their trip this year.
On his birthday Zhou Yi gifted Chen Liguo a key.
At that time Chen Liguo took the key and asked with a confused expression, “Is this key the key that opens the door to your heart?”
Hearing Chen Liguo’s words, Zhou Yi almost laughed aloud. He swatted Chen Liguo’s head and said, “What are you thinking about all day long.”
Chen Liguo scratched his head, a little aggrieved. He asked, “Then what is this key for?”
Zhou Yi said, “Didn’t you want a suite in the third ring?”
Chen Liguo was so frightened he almost kneeled to Zhou Yi. He thought that he would never casually make wishes again because Zhou Yi would take his random nonsense seriously! If he said that he wanted the moon would Zhou Yi actually send him there……
In the end, Chen Liguo did not accept the gift. Although Zhou Yi was a little upset Chen Liguo’s attitude was resolute. He said, “Wife, you can’t make your dowry more than my betrothal gift ah.”
Zhou Yi asked, “Then how much can you afford as a betrothal gift?”
Chen Liguo said, “…… What do you think of me?”
Zhou Yi said, “If you want to gift yourself to me then don’t you need to add some more to the betrothal gift?”
Chen Liguo: “……”
When Chen Liguo passed through the security inspection he took a quick glance behind him and seemed to see Lin Zhaorong in the crowd. Merely, it seemed to be his own misconception because when he looked again, his figure was gone.
Chen Liguo was a little distressed. He wondered if he was too nervous lately, to see every tree or bush as an enemy soldier. These days he felt like Lin Zhaorong could be seen everywhere but every time he looked carefully he seemed to have been mistaken.
As the person had disappeared Chen Liguo didn’t pay too much attention to it. He got on the plane with Zhou Yi and started a new journey.
For the original world’s Chen Liguo, university was an especially wonderful time.
Although he didn’t have the opportunity to participate in all kinds of extracurricular activities like other students as he still had to spend a lot of time working between classes, the university A that he attended had high scholarships and various tuition relief policies to help him. He really was so poor that there was nothing in the pot to eat but could find the school for a loan.
Of course, university A was a place where top students gathered. Wanting to get a scholarship was not an easy matter. Thus, Chen Liguo would often be studying into the middle of the night. Because of this matter of him staying up for so long there were some conflicts with his roommates at the time.
Chen Liguo and Zhou Yi got to know each other because they were in the same class in high school. Later, Zhou Yi slowly got to know Chen Liguo and after learning of his situation, proposed that Chen Liguo live with him. He would be responsible for all the rent and living expenses while Chen Liguo would be responsible for cleaning and washing clothes.
Naturally, Chen Liguo did not agree at first. However, later he was convinced by Zhou Yi’s hard and soft tactics.
Because he could only return to the dormitory at a late time every day, his roommates’ rests were affected no matter how quiet he tried to be. It was okay for a short period of time but as time went on even Chen Liguo himself felt a little embarrassed.
At that time Chen Liguo had already developed some unspeakable thoughts about Zhou Yi. However, he was clear minded from beginning to end. Even if he lived with Zhou Yi he didn’t have a single sliver of wild hope.
Zhou Yi was too far away from him. Chen Liguo didn’t even dare reach out to him.
This world was different. Chen Liguo and Zhou Yi were in the same department and class. They were even in the same dormitory.
Chen Liguo was on the top bunk and Zhou Yi on the bottom.
When setting up the bed Zhou Yi said that they should rent a place outside in their second year if the school allowed it.
Chen Liguo questioned, “Isn’t it pretty good in the school?”
Zhou Yi said, “It’s not convenient in school.”
Chen Liguo asked, “What isn’t convenient?”
Zhou Yi cast a very meaningful look at Chen Liguo and said, “Of course it’s not convenient for the livelihood of husband and wife.”
Chen Liguo: “……” Why did he feel that Zhou Yi was becoming more and more yellow.
Chen Liguo basically couldn’t remember any of his fellow students from university. After so many years Chen Liguo had completely forgotten the appearance of his classmates. However, his current class was not the same as his previous one.
On the first day of school Zhou Yi sat on the floor, not moving.
Chen Liguo asked, “You’re not going?”
Zhou Yi propped up his chin and said, “Too troublesome, don’t want to go.”
Chen Liguo exclaimed, “Yi, you actually find something troublesome too.”
Zhou Yi said, “Everything except things pertaining to you are troublesome.”
Like a good for nothing Chen Liguo’s face turned red.
Only after becoming familiar with Zhou Yi did he find that this man actually had a bit of a temper and would sometimes be lazy. He was not a perfect person. But it was because of these shortcomings that Zhou Yi seemed even more alive. Chen Liguo felt that meeting Zhou Yi really was the best thing of his life.
After class in the afternoon Chen Liguo did not go eat with Zhou Yi but went on a trip alone.
Zhou Yi asked him what he was going to do.
Chen Liguo said that he was going to meet a friend he used to play with before.
Zhou Yi asked, “You still have friends here? Go on then, come back earlier.”
Chen Liguo said, “Okay okay okay.”
Zhou Yi said, “En, good.”
Then Chen Liguo rushed out like an energetic rabbit. Zhou Yi looked at Chen Liguo’s appearance and wondered if he pulled Chen Liguo too tightly. He should let him out occasionally too.
Chen Liguo went to the student union office.
Before he walked in he heard the clear laughter of a girl from inside. Chen Liguo knocked on the door and heard a ‘come in’.
Chen Liguo pushed open the door and stepped in. After entering he came across a face that he had not seen for a long time.
“Do you need something?” The girl had short hair and wore a T-shirt with a bunny printed on it. No matter how one looked she seemed cute. She sat next to a tableand was in the middle of gluing together paper flowers.
Chen Liguo softly called her ‘sister’ in his heart.
This girl’s name was Xu Shulian. She was Chen Liguo’s senior but was younger than him by two years, so she recognized Chen Liguo as her older brother.
The two met each other in the student union and later their relationship became better and better.
If it were said that the orphan Chen Liguo experienced the feeling of love from Zhou Yi then Xu Shulian taught him what kinship was.
“I would like to know when you recruit new members.” Chen Liguo inquired with a smile. “I particularly want to join you guys here.”
“Ah?” Xu Shulian exclaimed. “So it turns out you came to recommend yourself?”
Chen Liguo answered, “That’s right.”
Before Xu Shulian spoke another student said with a laugh, “Pretty good pretty good, we need brave students like you here. What department do you want to go to?”
This was their first time seeing someone coming to recommend themselves before they started recruiting.
Chen Liguo did not have an impression of this student. He figured that they were the head of some section. Chen Liguo pointed at Xu Shulian and said, “What department is she in?”
Several students fell into an uproar. Xu Shulian’s face was a little red as well and did not say a word. Other students answered, “Xu Shulian is in the propaganda department, you want to join too?”
Chen Liguo said, “Anything is fine, I am a decathlon.”
“Alright.” One of them said. “We recruit after national day. You must come ah.”
Chen Liguo promised.
However, Xu Shulian’s character wasn’t as straightforward as it was in Chen Liguo’s original world. When she looked at him she would inexplicably blush.
Chen Liguo didn’t think much of it. He chatted with them a bit more then turned and went back.
Zhou Yi waited for Chen Liguo in the dorm. Seeing that Chen Liguo had come back he invited him to go eat together with him.
When they went out Chen Liguo asked Zhou Yi if he wanted to join some clubs.
Zhou Yi asked, “What are you joining?”
Chen Liguo said, “The student union.”
Zhou Yi said, “Alright, I’ll join with you.”
After Chen Liguo finished saying this he felt a bit of regret. In his original world Zhou Yi didn’t join any club and seemed to be busy since the start of freshman year.
Chen Liguo said, “Don’t force yourself ah, I’m just joining for fun……”
Zhou Yi’s expression was gentle. He said, “En, I’ll play with you.”
The courses that freshmans had were relatively more than the other grades. Chen Liguo did not need to work, so he wholeheartedly threw himself into studying.
Sometimes Zhou Yi accompanied him. Sometimes he did his own work. The two had an extraordinary tacit understanding.
Chen Liguo’s relationship with Xu Shulian became much better as well. Only, he vaguely felt that the attitude of the Xu Shulian of this world towards him was somewhat different from his original world.
Chen Liguo didn’t understand at first. Later, Zhou Yi dropped a sentence on him. He said, “That girl likes you.”
Hearing this Chen Liguo was stunned. He asked, “Ah?”
Zhou Yi was a little anxious about Chen Liguo’s EQ. He found that this little child didn’t know the least bit about his own charm. He said, “Xu Shulian has a crush on you. What about you?”
Chen Liguo declared, “I just think of her as a sister ah!”
Zhou Yi said, “Then I suggest you pay attention to boundaries.”
What else could Chen Liguo say? He could only agree. If he liked girls then Xu Shulian may have been a good choice. However, he was gay and was also secretly in love with Zhou Yi. Thus, he could only distance himself from Xu Shulian a bit.
Xu Shulian invited Chen Liguo out several times only for Chen Liguo to not come out at all. She asked him if he had any opinions about her.
Chen Liguo thought about it and told her the truth. He said, “Sorry, I like men……”
Xu Shulian’s entire person was dumbfounded. She said, “You like men? You don’t like me?”
Chen Liguo: “…… Sorry.”
Xu Shulian asked, “You wouldn’t like your roommate would you?”
Chen Liguo asked with horror, “You can even tell this?”
Xu Shulian said, “…… I’m not blind.”
The two fell into a confounding silence. Finally, Xu Shulian sighed and said, “Forget it forget it. All good men either have girlfriends or are gay.”
Chen Liguo: “……”
Xu Shulian said, “Since you can’t be my boyfriend then be my sister I suppose.”
Hearing this Chen Liguo wanted to cry a little. In his original world they were still brother and sister. However, in this world the gender changed.
Xu Shulian was evidently even sadder than Chen Liguo and left with a sigh.
Zhou Yi’s goal was achieved. The time that Xu Shulian came to find Chen Liguo was instantly halved.
To be honest, ever since they entered university Zhou Yi felt as if he had become a dragon guarding its treasure, wanting to get rid of all these people trying to steal it. However, the treasure he was guarding wasn’t the least bit aware.
Chen Liguo really had no idea. Never once did he think that so many people would like him.
Thus, when he was first confessed to he thought that the girl was joking. The second time he was a little flustered.
Chen Liguo who was confessed to slipped away and scuttled back to the dormitory. He found Zhou Yi and asked, “How could they like me ah?!”
Zhou Yi was in the middle of reading a book. Hearing Chen Liguo’s words he asked, “What’s wrong? Someone confessed to you again today?”
Chen Liguo said in horror, “That’s right. Only half a month has passed since school began.”
Zhou Yi said, “This is called the one who strikes first gains the advantage……” He seemed to think of something and his expression froze for a moment.
Chen Liguo said, “But where am I good ah?”
Zhou Yi said, “You look good.”
Chen Liguo: “……”
Zhou Yi said, “Good, if you don’t like then refuse.”
Not even in his dreams did Chen Liguo imagine that he could get such treatment in this world. Perhaps because he was too close to people, the number of confessions he got was more than Zhou Yi. In a short half a month there were already three. Without exception all three were senior school sisters.
Later, Chen Liguo analyzed the reasons and felt that it was likely because Zhou Yi rarely appeared in front of the public in this world. Although he participated in the student union like him he would not appear unless the activity was mandatory.
Chen Liguo was so popular he felt a bit overwhelmed by the unexpected favor.
He said to the system, “There’s actually so many people who like me.”
The system said coldly, “That’s right, see how bad their eyesight is.”
Chen Liguo shyly said, “Didn’t you choose me at the beginning too?”
System: “…… Do you have to mention this black history to destroy the few remaining bits of friendship between us?”
Chen Liguo said, “You chose me~ I chose you~ this was our~ choice~”
System: “……”
University really was wonderful.
There was plenty of time to splurge. You could do what you want, read what you wish.
Chen Liguo either dawdled at the library or played basketball. His life was especially comfortable.
Zhou Yi was a little busier than Chen Liguo. He already began to take over some of his family’s industries. Chen Liguo didn’t really understand these things. He just knew that no matter what Zhou Yi did he would still let him know in advance.
After their first year ended and the second year began, Zhou Yi moved out of the school as he had previously planned.
Of course, brought out with him was Chen Liguo.
In this world Chen Liguo had good relationships with his roommates, so when they were leaving he felt somewhat reluctant.
Zhou Yi didn’t give Chen Liguo the chance to choose and directly completed the procedures to live outside for him.
So the two began to live together alone.
In their original world Chen Liguo and Zhou Yi lived together for nearly six years. They had lived together even after graduation. What little habits Zhou Yi had, Chen Liguo knew them clearly.
In fact, this time they began living together a little earlier–They started living together in high school.
It was unknown whether the house they were living in was rented or bought. Its renovations were especially nice. There was also a big balcony that Chen Liguo was particularly fond of.
Actually Chen Liguo liked small animals but he was never in a condition to keep any. Thus he just liked to look at other people’s dogs or cats at most.
As a result, in the second month that they moved out Zhou Yi brought back a small golden retriever.
When Chen Liguo saw the golden retriever his entire person was so happy he practically jumped and ran around the house wildly with the little golden retriever in his arms.
Zhou Yi looked at his appearance, his eyes filled with smiles. He asked, “Like it?”
Chen Liguo said, “Like it to death, like it to death.” That little golden retriever liked him too. Constantly licking Chen Liguo with a wagging tail.
Chen Liguo exclaimed, “Ahhhhhhhhh, so happy ah, so happy ah!”
Zhou Yi’s expression was soft. He laughed, “Let’s keep living like this okay?”
Hearing this Chen Liguo was stunned. Then he laughed foolishly and said, “Okay.”
Zhou Yi said, “En, for your birthday this year I have an important gift for you.”
As soon as Chen Liguo heard the word ‘gift’ he thought of that key and said, “Don’t give me houses anymore ah.”
Zhou Yi thought about it and said, “It’s something even more precious than a house.”
Chen Liguo wondered what would be more precious than a house.
Zhou Yi drawled, “Very very precious.”
Chen Liguo guessed a few times but didn’t guess right. He looked at Zhou Yi’s beaming expression and felt too lazy to guess. In any case, when the time comes Zhou Yi would decipher it for him.
With a dog at home there was another focal point in Chen Liguo’s life. He even had the illusion that this was his life after marriage with Zhou Yi. Aside from not having a sex life everything was perfect–Oh, for the system, this was the most perfect state.
Time passed slowly and a semester went by in the twinkling of an eye.
During winter break Chen Liguo was pulled around by Zhou Yi to see his family’s company.
Chen Liguo stood in front of the building and stared at it blankly, not moving from his spot. He asked, “This is your family’s too?”
Zhou Yi affirmed, “En.”
This was an entertainment company of a very large scale. Even Chen Liguo who wasn’t a star chaser knew one or two things.
Chen Liguo asked, “Just how many industries does your family have?”
Zhou Yi said, “Quite a lot. My dad and his ex-wife split a lot of it when they divorced too.”
Chen Liguo said, “Ah, local tyrant, do you still need a thigh accessory? The kind that went to university.”
Zhou Yi said, “Don’t need any for the thigh, but the crotch is still lacking one. Do you want to try?”
Chen Liguo asked in disbelief, “…… Zhou Yi, when did you learn this kind of vulgar talk?”
Zhou Yi retorted, “Who tells me yellow jokes every day?”
Aggrieved, Chen Liguo said, “It’s my fault.”
It was all his fault for dyeing his snow-white male god into a turbid yellow……
Chen Liguo thought about it carefully. No wonder his boss was so polite to him after he changed jobs and the benefits were so good. Thinking on it, that company he went to was probably owned by the Zhou family. The employees introduced by the boss would certainly have better treatment.
Zhou Yi said, “I’ll bring you to my office.”
Thus, Chen Liguo followed Zhou Yi to his office.
On the way there were people who greeted Zhou Yi. They all called him boss.
Zhou Yi’s expression was light, completely missing the gentleness he had in front of Chen Liguo.
Zhou Yi’s office was on the top floor. Behind it was a huge floor-to-ceiling window. It completely satisfied Chen Liguo’s imagination of high class people. He pressed his face against the window and looked down. He exclaimed, “So high.”
Zhou Yi said, “After graduating, how about coming here to work with me?”
Chen Liguo said, “Then isn’t that me going in through the back door?”
Zhou Yi asked, “Going or not?”
Chen Liguo said, “Going going going.”
Zhou Yi laughed again. He just liked this character of Chen Liguo’s. Even as they got to know each other more and he learned about his family, never once did his attitude change.
Now, contrary to what one might have expected, Chen Liguo didn’t really feel inferior. Although he was very poor, for better or worse he was a man who had driven a mecha and had been a gang leader before. He had even become a god.
Zhou Yi hadn’t seen more than he had.
Zhou Yi said, “Chen Liguo, I’m really glad to have met you.”
Chen Liguo didn’t expect to hear this from Zhou Yi. He was flattered and said, “I’m glad I met you too.”
Zhou Yi showed a gentle smile.
Chen Liguo looked at him and suddenly felt that the Zhou Yi who stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window would spread his arms in the next moment and say to him: Look, Chen Liguo, this is the river and mountains that Zhen has conquered for you.
Chen Liguo: “Hahahahahahaha!”
System: “……” This retard can laugh like this just looking at a window.
Chen Liguo said, “I like Zhou Yi so much ah. How can I like him so much–“
System: “……”
Chen Liguo said, “Daddy, you too.”
The system said, “Silly son, you really are a silly son.”
Chen Liguo said, “Daddy, I really love you.”
The system was slightly touched by Chen Liguo’s statement. Just as it prepared to respond it heard Chen Liguo’s next sentence.
Chen Liguo said, “I really can’t hold it in any longer. Let me rub a bit tonight okay?”
System: “……” It finally knew why Chen Liguo laughed so dumbly. Seeing Zhou Yi standing in front of the glass window this bastard actually got himself hard…… Chen Liguo, are you the reincarnation of a teddy?
If there are no accidents, the secret will be revealed tomorrow.
Thanking you darlings for the mines, grenades, and rockets. Especially dear Diary’s deep-water torpedo. Extremely grateful, kiss kiss =3=
