The Perfect War Story……. - Chapter 86
Linda sighed removing her hand from her bag. “I do not feel anything about you Austin. Spending one night together does not suddenly erupt feeling or change your perspective about feelings for a man. I have seen the ruthless side you. I have seen people going out of your office in tears, while you yourself knew they were innocent. I have seen you changing facts for money and buy evidences against poor and helpless victims just to win the case.” She spoke in disgust looking at the man, under whom she had worked once.
“That is my profession Linda. You cannot judge my nature based on my profession or my working style. This is totally unfair.” He spoke in his defence feeling a bit hurt.
“Of course I would. A man’s work ethics tells a lot about his character. Ethics are everything to me Austin and I do not see even an inch of it in you.” Linda’s nose flared up in anger as she was reminded of the days, she was working under him. “You only live for money Austin, and I have seen all this with my own eyes.” Linda’s nose flared up a bit more in anger as she looked at the man, who was feeling a bit helpless and was constantly shaking his one leg a bit.
“I have done this to bring my company to the top most companies in the nation. This is how our profession is. Did you not get Sheryl to seduce Smith? Would you call that ethical?” he spoke up trying to control his anger.
“An eye for an eye, is what I would call that. I would have never done that had it been somebody else, but to deal with you I knew, I had to be manipulative and clever just like you.” She shrugged her shoulders and let out a deep sigh as if she was already tired of this conversation.
Austin could make out that the girl was now in a hurry to leave. “Just what do I do to make you believe that I am a good man? “He spoke in much anguish looking at the girl he had dreamt of for five long years. The more he looked at her, the more he realised how badly he wanted to convince her.
“It’s no use Austin. You will never sacrifice money for ethics. And, I will never sacrifice my values for money.” She spoke letting out another sigh.
“fine.” The man shuffled on his seat a bit feeling restless. “If I do not compromise on my ethics, will you give me a chance?” the man smiled a bit, feeling a bit hopeful.
Linda looked at the man in surprise,, this was not something she had expected out of him. “wh.. what are you saying Austin?” she frowned a bit in confusion.
“You heard me.” The man smiled, looking at the pretty girl who was confused as to what to say to him. He quickly brought his face a bit closer to her inhaling the fragrance of her perfume. “What if I do not give you any reason to reject me?”
“It is impossible.” She looked at the man straight in his eyes, their faces just a few inches apart.
“Are you so sure Linda? Then why are you nervous?” the man smirked a bit, looking at her luscious glossy lips. “Oh I would do anything to kiss these lips again. Just anything.” The man whispered coming closer to her, looking at her lips in hunger.
Linda blinked several times, and immediately got up from her seat feeling a bit nervous. The man was simply too attractive and she had to admit that yesterday night was actually fun. She would want to do it again but at the same time, she also knew that the man was a jerk and had no ethics. She did not want to be just another toy in his life. The girl got up and looked at Austin in anger. “I don’t know what is wrong with you, but you are acting too weird.” She quickly bent a little to grab her bag, placed in front of her on the table.
As soon as she bent, Austin’s gaze fell upon the girl’s cleavage and a surge of hormones erupted in is lower body as flashes of her nȧkėd body started to appear before his eyes. He instantly held the girl’s hand, pulling her a little towards himself, across the table, making the girl bend a little more. “Are you nervous Linda? Maybe because, you too want to do it again? Or are you nervous that you will not be able to reject me?” he whispered coming close to her ear, and smirked a bit.
“Nothing like that.” the girl lied trying to free her hand from his grip. But the boy refused to let her go and brought his face closer to her ear. He then planted a quick peck on her ear and smirked. A shiver ran down the girl’s spine and she quickly jerked away her face from the man looking straight in his eyes. “I have to go.”
“Ok. I will wait for you to accept me. Till then I will keep trying.” The man smiled leaving the girl’s hand and he winked looking at her notoriously.
“Good bye Austin.” Linda spoke softly and then immediately walked away taking deep breaths feeling extremely nervous. This was the first time any guy had intimidated her like that, probably because the girl found him really attractive or this was the first time she had spent night with a guy besides her ex- boyfriend.
