The Perfect War Story……. - Chapter 87
“Linda….” the man spoke looking at the vast cut out on her dress, which revealed her beautiful back’s skin. “Wow!” he could not help but gape at her back and her curves.
“Austin, listen.” The girl finally turned to look at him and frowned helplessly. “I think this is enough Austin. I have to…” the girl had yet not finished speaking when suddenly Austin quickly sprinted away on the foot path, signalling her to not go anywhere and wait for him.
“Stay here! I am coming!!” he sprinted rapidly at the speed of lightning, straight on the foot path, avoiding colliding with anybody. He was running rapidly as if was just about to miss a flight.
Linda frowned looking at the man’s preceding figure. “What on earth just happened? Did his wallet or phone just get stolen? But I did not see it happening.’ She spoke looking at the man, who was still running on the foot path, crossing several shops and cafes. Every person who was walking on the path also turned to look at the man. The man dressed in impeccable suit was running so rapidly, as if forgot to wear his jogging suit before jogging!
Linda could no longer spot the boy, who seemed to have entered a shop. “What is he doing? Everyone is staring at him!” the girl tried to find the boy but she could not see him anywhere. “Did he elope? Should I also go? But he told me to stay here. If I go, will I appear to be too rude?” the girl was busy talking to herself, when she suddenly she spotted the man’s head.
The man was now running back towards her and was pretty much out of the breath. He was running crossing the every passerby and suddenly Linda’s mouth fell open. Earlier she could only see the boy’s head running towards her amidst the crowd, but now she could see the whole of him. The man was holding a gigantic bouquet of roses and lilies holding it with his one hand.
He was rapidly sprinting towards her and heaved a sigh of relief as he saw that the girl had not left. He was catching every passerby’s attention that were now turning their heads to look at him. The man smiled a bit and rapidly ran towards her and halted just a few inches away. He grinned widely and held out the beautiful bouquet to her. ‘Thank you for waiting. I could not see you earlier so I thought that you left. This is for you.” The man was panting heavily and he gave the bouquet to the girl, happily.
Linda was now blushing tremendously as all the passersby were smiling looking at them. She smiled a little and took the flowers in her hand. “Thank you. They are lovely.”
“I am glad you liked them. Sorry to keep you waiting. If you want to leave you can leave now, but of course I would love to spend more time with you if you can manage that.” The man spoke softly, still standing close to her, hoping that she would want to stay back.
Linda blushed again, not looking at the boy now.’ I am sorry. I will have to leave. Maybe, some other time. Bye” She smiled a bit and turned around nervously and sat in her car. She waved at him a good bye and then drove off her car.
Austin too waved back and looked at the car speeding away. “This girl is not going to be so easy to convince. Think Austin! Think!” he whispered and then walked towards his own car and then heading to the office.
Linda drove quickly towards her office, as if she was trying to run away from Austin as far as possible. She drove for a few minutes and then finally heaved a sigh of relief. She had to admit that she was actually touched by the man’s cute action. He was running like a mad man, just to get her some flowers. It was pretty evident to her that the man was desperate in trying to prove his honest feelings towards her. “Oh dear! This is so weird. This man is so confusing. I cannot even judge if he is faking it all or if he is actually in love.” She sighed and then brought the car to halt outside a gigantic building.
She quickly stepped out of the car, handing over the bouquet and keys to the guard. “Please keep it in my office.”
Soon she entered a gigantic reception area, which had a waiting lounge in one corner. Several people were already waiting to meet her. Her profession had been already working out pretty good for her, but from the time she had won the case against Austin and Smith, her profession had hit a sudden boom. Everybody wanted to hire only Linda for their case now. In fact there were now several clients who even shifted from Austin’s company to her company.
Meanwhile…
Austin was now sitting in his office, signing a few documents, while his secretary was standing in the corner waiting for him to sign all the papers. “And boss, today two more clients want to cancel their contract with us. They said that they would rather work with Miss Linda woods, than work with you. Also they said that they have more confidence on that girl now as she was the first one to defeat you.” The secretary dressed in a black suit spoke a bit hesitantly.
As Austin heard Linda’s name, a smile appeared on his face and he looked up at the man. “No problem. Tell them we will cancel the contract. It is no problem, if they want to go to Miss. Linda Woods.” The man spoke politely and then once again lowered his head to sign the remaining documents.
