The Perfect War Story……. - Chapter 89
“Delivery? Umm… ok please bring it in.” Linda looked at the man and suddenly gaped at him in shock. The man was holding the most gigantic heart shaped bouquet the girl had ever seen and walked inside the office looking at her happily. The bouquet was made of red colour roses entirely, and their pleasant fragrance filled the entire room instantly.
As soon as Olive looked at the gigantic bouquet his smiled dropped down and he had ȧssumed that the lady was probably already committed or engaged to somebody who is definitely very rich to have ordered such an extravagant bouquet.
Linda was looking at the bouquet in surprise, not knowing who could send her such a beautiful gift. The secretary placed the flowers on a table besides the previous bouquet and handed over an attached card to her. ”This came along with the flowers madam.” He smiled giving her the card.
Linda nodded her hand and smiled a bit, still confused about the sender of the flowers. She took the cards in her hand, which had a beautiful couple printed on it with several hearts. She opened the card and was stunned to read the message inside it.
‘Nothing less than this beautiful bouquet for a gorgeous girl, like you.
Hope you like them, and they make you feel that I am not just pranking with you.
You admirer from past 5 years
-Austin.’
Linda blushed a bit reading the card and immediately placed it near the bouquet looking back at Olive. “Sorry about that. Yes, so where were we?”
Olive smiled a bit lightly and could not help noticing Linda’s blush and a slight hint of happiness on her face after looking at the flowers. He just had a mini heartbreak too, looking at the girl’s red cheeks. He was wondering looking at her in sadness, that why should a girl this pretty, has to be committed?
Linda was now finding it hard to concentrate on Olive and she looked at him trying to act normal. “Yours is a simple case. And we will have no problem in dealing with it. I would recommend you to stop all sorts of conversations with your wife for the meanwhile and do not send her any text messages which might prove to be a strong evidence. Rest we can handle. Please provide your details, like your phone number, address and your wife’s details to my secretary.” She smiled ȧssuringly.
Olive smiled back at her with much gratitude. Thank you so much madam. Your confidence is really promising and I already feel very relaxed. Thank you for your time. Have a nice day.” The man with blue eyes and curly hair got up from his seat and left the room.
Linda who was earlier checking out the client was now only concentrating on the flowers besides her. She had not expected to see this side of Austin. All she knew was that he was crude and a selfish man, who only thought about his work and money. She was now debating whether or not she should thank him for the flowers out of general courtesy and then quickly took out her phone to type a message.
‘Thank you for the flowers. They are lovely’
She pressed the send buŧŧon and heaved a deep sigh. Never ever could she have imagines talking to Austin again. Instantly, the girl’s phone buzzed and she opened to check the message. Austin had once again instantly replied to her message.
Austin-‘you can thank me with a dinner date maybe?’
Lind thought for a while, in confusion and then typed a message not sure about what she was feeling.
Linda- ‘let me think about it.’
Austin- ‘you have all the time… I can wait all my life for you.’
Linda looked at the message in surprise, not knowing what to type next and she decided not to reply to him. She needed time to think before actually going to a formal date with Austin, the man she had always hated from past 5 years in contrast to Austin’s liking for her.
The girl was about to leave the office once again looking at the bouquets placed side by side, thinking about Austin, when suddenly her secretary knocked again.
“Yes please come.’ Lind nodded her head in approval.
“Mam, I had to remind you. Tomorrow we have a meeting for that new liquor company case, regarding their license issue. Lawyers of both the parties will be meeting and shall try to settle the solution out of the court.” The man dressed in a black suit spoke in a formal and polite tone.
“Ah yes, I had read their file. The company seems really fraudulent and has infected over a thousand people from which a hundred are still very critical.” Linda spoke in a pensive mode. “We will make sure the company does not get its license at all. I will need the statements of the people who are critical but are in a position to give an interview. We need enough evidence to prove that the infection was indeed caused after drinking that alcohol. And by the way, who is the lawyer fighting in favour of the liquor company?” Linda asked looking at the man.
“It is once again Mr. Austin Tuner from ‘The equity supply’ firm.” The secretary spoke politely handing over the papers to the girl.
The girl was stunned to hear the lawyer’s name and looked at him in surprise. ”Hmm… Interesting. Thank you so much.” She nodded her head and the secretary left the girl’s office.
Linda smirked in disgust looking at the documents in front of her, which clearly mentioned that Austin was in fact fighting for the company’s license. “What a jerk he is. And to think, I had actually for a few minutes trusted his intentions thinking, he might have changed and liked me with honesty.”
