The Pirate Djinn - Chapter 19 New Member

Sasaki was lost in thoughts as he contemplated on what Nate just said, his dream of becoming the strongest swordsman who wields the true Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū can still be achieved while being a pirate.

“Fine. I will join your crew but under a condition.” said Sasaki “I will not hesitate to leave your crew if you hurt innocents with your pirating.”

“That’s fine. You can stop me if you think I will be hurting innocents with my actions.” said Nate

“Welcome to the crew.” said Rin

“Hmm.. That reminds me where is your ship?” asked Sasaki “This island is filled with Marines, although corrupted they will still hunt down any pirates if they see one.”

“We don’t have one yet. We have been using a broken boat so far.” scowled Rin while staring at Nate.

“Hahaha… It will be alright guys” said Nate while laughing.

After successfully inviting Sasaki to the crew, Nate and the crew went to have some breakfast much to Rin’s delight.

While those three were devouring through plates after plates of food, the Marines were frantically searching for a swordsman. Most of the streets was crowded with soldiers as they went around interrogating the citizens. The head of the Marine Base on this island was a Captain know for his tyranny and cruelty, he used be an officer on the Grand Line who got transferred due to an injury that he received on a battle against some pirates.

Although his strength has dropped from what it used to be, here on this weakest of the he could undoubtedly reign as supreme. When he heard that someone actually dared to kill his subordinates who he sent to collect taxes, he was furious beyond belief. He ordered his men to find and capture that swordsman so that he can publicly execute him as an example of those who oppose him.

After the three had their fill, Rin decide to continue shopping and stock up on the food supply since there is an extra mouth to feed now. They decided to meet up on the harbor by noon or so. Nate paid the innkeeper for the food and accommodation and left with Sasaki hoping to buy some new clothes.

“You know, I told you about my dream but I haven’t heard about your’s yet.” said Sasaki while walking through the streets.

“I haven’t?? My dream isn’t something so grand like One Piece, although the entire world is searching for One Piece to become the Pirate King, what’s the point in that.. for a title?? Or some treasure that we don’t know about?? I want to enjoy a life filled with adventures so great that even The Pirate King hasn’t. This world is filled with mysteries and suspense, isn’t it just a waste to not explore it.” said Nate dreamily.

Sasaki was stunned by Nate’s words, ‘Exploring farthest reaches of the world isn’t something grand?!’

While the two where chatting they were interrupted by a group of Marines who were staring at them with hostility.

“You are under arrest for assaulting and murdering!!” shouted one of the Marines as he pointed his gun at Sasaki. “You will be judged by Captain Salazar for your crimes.”

“Although my dream is simple, it’s not an easy feat to accomplish it.” said Nate as though he hasn’t noticed the Marines surrounding them. “To live up to your dreams you need be strong, strong enough to trample through anything that bars your way.”

Just after that Nate vanished from where he was standing followed by a flash of lightning that struck all the marines that surrounded them. Sasaki stood there shocked as he saw the marines being knocked in an instant. He saw Nate standing in front of him while beaming at him, he also noticed that his body was surrounded by arcs of lightning.

“Y-you are a devil fruit user?!” asked Sasaki while calming down.

“Something like that.” said Nate, while deactivating Bararaq Kauza. He planned to explain his Djinn Equips as some kind of Zoan devil fruit in order to reduce suspicions.

“I just had an excellent idea!!” said Nate laughing “Since this island has a Marine base, they will also have a ship or two. Wouldn’t it be fitting for a pirate crew to have a Marine ship as their vessel.”
