The Place Where Everything Begins - Chapter 178: Jeremy's Adventure (4)
After feeling better, the Amorphis suddenly realized it was not here alone as there was still a hateful enemy standing behind it.
Having realized the enemy’s presence, the Amorphis hurriedly rushed tens of meters away before turning 180 degrees to the back to look at its detestable opponent.
As the Amorphis turned its whole body to face Jeremy, looking hatefully at the latter, Jeremy also did the same to it but with a nonchalant expression on his face.
Jeremy could see pretty clearly the Amorphis’ looks and facial skin contracting and expanding continually; he knew the creature felt quite pissed off and dreaded from the pain it had felt earlier.
After the staring contest had been ongoing for some seconds more, suddenly, Jeremy could feel the rocky floor underneath his feet tremble a bit. As for the source, it was obviously generated from the Amorphis that stood almost one hundred meters away from him.
‘At this rate, I might just yawn…’
Jeremy thought in boredom while looking at the giant creature utilizing its skill as seconds passed by slowly.
Meanwhile, the solid ground under Jeremy’s feet started shaking significantly as if there was a small earthquake occurring within this underground hall.
As the quake expanded in size towards every nook and cranny inside the rocky chamber, some pieces of rocks started to fall from above, but Jeremy couldn’t care less about the falling rocks as within his head was another thought entirely,
‘Is the skill it is using now some kind of an earthquake one? Still, an earthquake-related skill should be at least a tier-3 one, so it is improbable for the young Amorphisto to use that. Hmm… I should think about the worst-case scenario if the entire hall crumbles down as that might be quite a big problem for me.’
‘Let’s see; the distance from here to the ground above is roughly five hundred meters. If I ran at full speed, I could still make it in time somehow…’
While Jeremy was thinking idly to himself instead of attacking the monster because he wanted to see what the Amorphis would do next, the entire underground hall promptly stopped shaking.
‘As I’ve thought, it’s not an earthquake skill…’ thought Jeremy as he looked at the dimly-shining Amorphis with some strange-looking runes floating not far from its forehead.
Jeremy didn’t realize what those runes meant, but he knew those things should be related to the Earth element as they shone with a dim brown-yellow light.
Concurrently, the Amorphis’ entire body also shone in brown color as the cracks on the floor, which occurred from the ‘earthquake’ earlier, started to tremble yet again.
The cracked rocky floor promptly detached itself from the ground as if it was magnetized by the Amorphis’ gigantic body, simultaneously moving to cover the earthen worm’s entire body in a swift manner.
As some seconds had passed, the Amorphis’ rocky armor seemed to be thicker and thicker, whereas its body weight also became heavier and heavier from the accumulated rocks on its entire body surface.
‘This skill is extremely slow to cast, but I can’t deny that it looks a bit epic, somewhat like an armored iron man in a certain movie. Anyway, this should suffice for me to test my new technique…’ Jeremy thought to himself as he raised his eyebrows at the weirdness of his opponent’s skill.
After finishing his thought, Jeremy’s three dantians started moving in sync as mana particles gushed out from the three, subsequently moving via countless meridians towards his right hand. At last, numerous mana particles went through Jeremy’s right palm into Anguish.
Simultaneously, Anguish trembled in glee, showing how delightful it felt right now that it could eat the delicious mana of its owner once again. Meanwhile, along Anguish’s sharp edge appeared a bluish layer of mana blade that became thickened at every passing moment upon receiving Jeremy’s pure mana.
At this time, the full-armored Amorphis finally stopped its skill as it looked several times more fearsome than before. However, it looked like the giant earthen worm had never intended to stop just there as its entire body started to shine in the green color induced by the Poison element.
After the green energy appeared all over the Amorphis’ giant body, the energy started moving, retracting, and condensing towards one place, which happened to be inside the Amorphis’ extensive mouth.
Not long after, the green energy went inside the Amorphis’ mouth wholly, leaving behind only its luminous brown rocky scales. At the same time, the Amorphis closed its mouth as it was finally ready to clash with its hateful opponent.
Albeit still feeling pretty fearful of the painful feeling inflicted by the small creature before it, the Amorphis had no other way but to fight back as best as it could. So, it had decided to activate its two ultimate skills; one was a defensive Earth elemental skill, whereas another was an attacking Poison elemental skill.
Simultaneously, even though Jeremy started preparing for his move later than the Amorphis, he was pretty much ready for their next clash by now.
At this time, Jeremy had finally stopped channeling his mana into Anguish.
Right now, Anguish looked unlike its earlier appearance in the least as its shaft shone in the dim light-grey glow while its blade had a layer of condensed blue mana on the entire surface.
‘I hope it works… after all, I have used more than three percent of my mana into this attack…’
Jeremy thought fleetingly as he looked at the giant worm before him opening its large mouth ever so slowly.
Having seen his opponent finally initiate its ultimate attack, Jeremy also postured himself, preparing to swing the glistening Anguish in counterattack anytime.
*Wobbling*
*Squishing*
The wobbling and squishing noises came from the Amorphis’s exterior as its tail-end started contracting greatly. Subsequently, the contraction started extending towards its mid-body, continuing towards its neck area in no time.
Until the contraction moved past the Amorphis neck, its slowly-opening mouth gradually became fully agape as a big clump of green substance was seen spittled out from its mouth, moving in the air towards Jeremy swiftly.
The green substance should be highly acidic and poisonous as the Amorphis had a Poison elemental alignment. Meanwhile, the substance moved at a pretty fast pace, caused by the tremendous contracting force generated from the Amorphis’ giant body.
‘Well, a type of Poisonous Spit skills that has an attacking power of around high-level of a tier-1 spell…’
Jeremy thought inwardly as the environment around him started to slow down as if time itself had almost stopped moving.
The falling gravels from the quake dropped at a snail’s speed…
The Amorphis’ giant body seemed to stop moving altogether…
The green substance in the air flew in Jeremy’s direction ever so slowly…
Such phenomenon only happened when someone focused their mind to the fullest, yet Jeremy had done so pretty easily, of which a part of that was thanks to his skill, Greater Focus, that helped him concentrate his mind easier and quicker.
As the world seemed to slow down, Jeremy eventually started moving his right hand holding Anguish as he utilized a special mana technique he invented after seeing Anguish’s first ability.
Jeremy raised the mana-coated Anguish above his head before swinging it down in a diagonal dimension in the direction of the green substance and Amorphis.
As the grey spear, Anguish, was swung down using Jeremy full force, the whole process appeared to be blurry as even the Amorphis didn’t know what happened in that split-second timeframe.
After all, the Amorphis could only perceive things from the ‘echoed sound’ as it had no eye or ear.
*Whoosh*
The condensed mana coated on Anguish’s blade promptly detached itself wholly from the spearhead. As the mana wave moved out, its shape transformed into a crescent moon, moving at a speed faster than sound towards the green substance.
As the crescent blue mana blade was almost three meters in height, its trajectory appeared to be able to meet with the green substance very perfectly.
A split second later, the crescent moon mana wave finally crashed against the green substance in midair.
Unsurprisingly, the condensed mana cut through the green substance in half as the latter was dissected into two big chunks moving in two oblique directions.
It appeared that the green substance’s poisonous property was pretty potent as the condensed mana seemed to be a little bit dimmer than before, nonetheless still moved forward at the same speed, untraceable by an average person’s naked eyes.
Unrealizing about its imminent doom, the Amorphis prepared to charge forward, intending to crash with its hateful opponent in case the latter had managed to survive its acidic spit.
Nonetheless, even before the Amorphis could move a single leg and its giant body forward, the crescent mana wave had already arrived before its round armored head.
*Kajikkk*
Instead of the booming noise of an explosion, the mana blade initially cut and vibrated against the Amorphis’ armored forehead with some difficulty, creating strange noise as if a chainsaw was cutting against a hardened boulder.
Not long after, the rocky armored finally succumbed to the sharp mana blade as the latter went inside the Amorphis’ forehead, gradually penetrating through its brain all the way to its posterior part.
As the crescent mana blade was almost three meters in height, the mana blade had nearly cut the Amorphis’ body in half, leaving behind only the earthen worm’s belly touching the rocky floor.
After the toughest part, the Amorphis’ head section, was cut apart diagonally, the blade proceeded deeper and deeper into the Amorphis’ body.
A short one second later, the mana put behind the mana blade seemed to run out of mana from the continuous penetration against the Amorphis’ hardened scales as the former promptly disappeared into thin air, leaving behind only the unmoving giant earthen worm.
As the mana blade had traveled too fast, the pitiful Amorphis ceased its breath without even knowing what killed it…
At this time, those two clumps of green goo finally went past Jeremy’s sides as it landed some meters away from his two flanks, eroding the rocks and creating two big holes on the floor.
‘If that thing hits me, it won’t be funny at all…’ Jeremy thought to himself while staring at the unmoving giant corpse one hundred meters away from him as he started walking towards it.
At this time, Jeremy looked at the dead Amorphis and the area around its body…
Right now, the giant creature’s green blood gushed out from the cut wound unstoppably, creating sizzling noises upon dropping unto the ground.
Meanwhile, the two dissected parts from its head until the mid area of the Amorphis’ body finally detached from each other as the flesh was cut apart by the mana blade earlier, eventually crashing down unto the hard floor beside its dead body.
The thumping noises from the dozen tons of body mass altogether with the heavy rocky armor hitting against the solid floor, almost creating a small earthquake within the underground hall.
To be honest, Jeremy felt the slight trembling even from such a distance of almost one hundred meters.
Shortly after, Jeremy finally arrived before the bisected giant head as he stood some meters away from the tons of green liquid that was now still eroding the ground nonstop.
Currently, the area around the dead Amorphis appeared to be a bit sunken down compared to the surrounding surface from being corroded heavily and continuously by the acidic green blood.
White smoke with a nasty and acrid smell permeated the surrounding area as Jeremy’s mana field projection was automatically triggered from time to time.
‘It should run out of effects soon…’ Jeremy thought fleetingly.
Sure enough, the white smoke gradually stopped as it looked like the green blood had finally lost its acidic property; after all, its owner was already dead.
‘Alright, it’s time to reap my hard-earned rewards…’
Jeremy thought in glee as he looked at the transparent interface before him.
