The Plane Romance - 8 I'sm going to Scream and Shou
“AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!” Raam roared his voice hoarse. He stayed like this for a long while before he started coughing and was forced to stop.
“I hate Mondays!” He threw himself back in bed and tucked himself back in his blankets. He was moments from drifting back to sleep when his phone started ringing.
“I don’t hear it.” It was ringing and after repeating three times it stopped. Raam released a sigh and went back to the comfort of darkness.
Then the ringing attacked again, he rolled himself over eyes still shut and shouted into the phone, “Damn it! Miciah can’t you just let me sleep!”
“Morning to you too!” She was laughing with fake anger.
“What do you want?”
“You have class in two hours, get up and moving!”
“I still got two hours.”
“How long does it take to get to school?”
“No time.”
“Oh really, how?”
“Teleportation.”
“Teach me sometime! For now, get up and ready for school!” Raam groaned into his phone before closing down and rolling onto the floor. This was followed by another groan but he had yet to stand himself up.
He hadn’t slept in his own bed but the couch in the living room. Without his shirt, it was easy to tell what he meant by being scarred. All over his chest and upper arms were discolored spots that were constant reminders of his pain. Each one was a blister and with how his chest was covered in these the pain can only be imagined.
He dragged himself upstairs and to his room quickly changing into new clothes. He could hear the echoes of himself whenever he walked in. He saw himself sprawled out on the bed as his voice was hoarse from screams. The blisters that covered his face as he cried himself to sleep as there was no position of comfort. His head was covered, his arms, legs, chest, back, feet, hands, his whole body was at a point of being shot may hurt less. He wears pajamas out most days because those were the only clothes he was comfortable in for a year. The loose clothes didn’t adhere to his skin like everything else.
He stared at the bed before he closed the door behind him, “Can you see your emotions in the stars? Can you see your life when walking out of a room? Can you understand the past when you run into the future?”
He took his keys to the motorcycle but on his way out of the garage he stood in place and stared at the car covered in dust, Mustang 06.
He burst out into tears, his whole body overcome with emotion. He saw his younger self with a bright smile laughing at the speed and sound of the car. The small things in life right? Those uncensored moments to where no matter what was happening, that sound of an engine and the blowing wind at over 100mph were euphoric. He tried to rush out one day in his car in hopes of it like every other time lessening the pain. He didn’t make it out the driveway before losing out.
“Sir, would you like to take the car today?” His driver asked.
He wiped away his tears and without turning back answered the man, “Thank you but I’ll take the bike again.”
Raam never made it to school. He pulled off the highway and to an abandoned mall. He made his way up and through to the roof. He had expected to be the only one there but there stood Miciah, staring out at the horizon the wind blowing her hair back.
“I had a feeling you would end up here.”
“I’ve never been unique in my habits.” He joined leaning over the railing his gaze similar to hers out at the horizon.
“You done enough running?” She questioned not bringing her gaze to him.
“Not till it is all behind me.” He looked down at her himself forcing a smile.
“It was never behind you.” Her gaze matched his.
“Then I will never stop running.”
