The Porter is Secretly an SS-Level Hunter - Chapter 62: This is not the End
A weapon appears in Mother’s hand when she attacks Neban. He blocked it with Siren, only for his hand to get pushed back from the force. His chest was open as Mother was getting ready to slice it.
But Neban used [Shadow Travel], moving a few feet away from her. She smirks, not saying anything as Neban felt like she was getting ready to appear in front of him.
He used [Shadow Web x2] on the ground, then switched to copy a Mage as he filled the floor with a bit of water.
Mother disappeared when he started to use those moves, only to reappear right in front of him. She was close to stabbing him in his shoulder when she slipped from the water. The web even caught her heels.
Mother stumbled before quickly catching her balance. Neban moved back some more as the woman growled when she realized that her heels were stuck on the web.
‘Haha! I wished I had recorded that.’ Siren laughed when they saw that the woman almost slipped.
Neban did not react nor reply, but he did find it a bit amusing.
Mother took off her heels, her feet touching the web as it started to dissolve; even the water began to boil. Neban was still in the water’s area, and when he felt the water beginning to burn him, he moved again using [Shadow Travel].
Neban was near the left staircase, and before Mother could turn around, Siren switched to a bow. He quickly put the weapon in position before pulling back the string and letting it go.
Four arrows appeared out of the bow as they soared towards Mother. The woman looked at her heels with a sigh before swiftly turning around, grabbing the arrows that she felt coming towards her.
The arrows were melting in her hand, never hitting the floor as what she did cause no pieces to be left.
She looked towards Neban, bringing her body forward as she was preparing to rush him. Neban was already pulling back the bow’s string, releasing more arrows.
Mother ran towards him, moving in a zigzag pattern as she dodged the arrows coming her way. He kept trying to hit her as she was getting closer and closer.
When they were two inches apart, Neban quickly yelled for Siren to turn back into a sword as she gave a wide swing.
Mother turned her body around Neban, dropping her weapon to the ground as she grabbed the man from behind. Her hands were on the back collar of his shirt as she lifted him.
Neban felt his body getting lifted as he brought one of his hands down, getting ready to tap back into copying a Mage.
“I got you in my grasp human, what do you have to say now?” Mother spoke, although her gaze was on Siren like she wanted to take the weapon back.
The sword shuddered, showing that Siren was sensing Mother’s thought, trembling.
“It means nothing,” Neban spoke before using [Fireballs x3] on the woman.
Three fireballs came out of his hand as Mother quickly blocked it with her arm. Her arm started to burn as she threw Neban to the side.
Neban hit the stairs, grabbing the railing as he pushed himself to a standing position. He saw the fireballs did not have that great of an effect on Mother. Her arm had a small burn, like someone dropped warm tea on it, before healing completely.
Mother laughed at that, putting her arm down, turning towards the human. Neban was already up, while Siren turned into a spear as he swung at the woman, trying to catch her by surprise.
The spear hit her across her face, causing it to move to the side. There was a small trail of blood that came down from the corner of her lip. The woman started to laugh silently.
Neban was a bit surprised that he hit the woman as Siren was begging for more. They wanted to beat Mother before killing her. So, Neban pushed back his surprise as he was going in for another attack; this time, he would use the spear’s sharp part.
Mother did not move from her spot as Neban attacked her. He thought it would connect since the woman was standing like a statue, but the spear went through her. Then, her image disappeared like it was an illusion.
Neban backed away, quickly looking around as he used [Absolute Sense] to look for Mother. When he felt an incoming attack from behind him, it was too late.
Mother appeared from the shadows, standing behind Neban as she picked up her foot, kicking him from the back. Neban flew, hitting one of the seats in the lobby. It was near the closed dungeon entrance as he slid to the ground.
His back was in pain as he coughed up blood. ‘You better not die on me, human.’ Siren said, trying to hide the bit of worry in their tone.
Neban was getting ready to tell the weapon he was not when Mother was already next to him. She grabbed Neban by his neck before throwing him at one of the pillars.
Neban kept a tight grip on Siren, not wanting to let the weapon go as his back hit the pillars, causing them to crack before breaking. He was on the ground again, coughing up more blood.
The pain in his back spread around his body, causing it to feel numb as he tried to hold back more of his coughs.
Siren said something to Neban, but he was already ignoring it as Mother walked in front of him. She grabbed him by the arm, making the man stand up.
Neban stumbled when Mother let him go after making him stand. He used the broken pillar to balance himself.
Mother laughed, “How boring, and here I thought that there was something to you. You have killed the ones that challenged you while wielding my magnificent weapon.
“But in the end, you are nothing worthy to stand before me.”
She looked like she was getting ready to reach for Siren, to snatch them back. The weapon was trembling, their toughness leaving as they started repeating that they did not want to go back.
Neban decided to push himself to the limit as he used the two exhausting moves from before: [Shadow Ghost x3] x [Sub-Zero Rain x4].
The icy rain came down. Anything that the drops touched, instantly iced over. Neban was transparent as the rain went through him as it did not have anything concrete to grab.
When the drops touched Mother, ice slowly appeared on her body, surrounding it. The woman let out a growl mixed with an angry cry as she grabbed the ice, peeling it off her body.
But each time she pulled the ice off, more of it would appear again because the rain was still going.
Neban was breathing hard, leaning against the broken pillar as his coughing fit started again. When he looked at his transparent hand, he saw drops of blood in it before wiping it away. His expression did not give any reaction away.
‘I swear if you die on-” Siren did not finish their sentence as Neban cut them off.
‘I will not die.’ He still had a son to return to because he promised. Neban will not die here.
Siren snorted, getting ready to comment before a scream resonated in the area. They both looked up, staring at Mother, who let out a scream before looking at Neban with fury in her eyes.
“You insignificant little human, you think you can hurt me? Even kill me! Well, guess again, I will show you who is at the top of everyone in the world.” Mother screamed.
After she spoke, the room started to heat up, causing the rain to stop as the ground began to shake.
Neban held onto the pillar behind him with one hand while the other kept a firm grip on Siren when he almost dropped the weapon.
Everything around them began to crack as pieces of the wall and stairs started to break off. The heat came to an all-time high before the fire started to enter the room.
Even though Neban was transparent, he could feel the heat of the fire as his body started to sweat from it.
The fire reached the dungeon’s entrance, burning the door as it made its way outside. Neban could hear the people, who were still outside the dungeon, screaming.
Mother began to crazily laugh at the chaos she heard outside and the one that was happening here.
The dungeon broke down some as Neban fell to his knees as the fire was getting closer to his area.
Mother looked at him before flicking her wrist, causing a portal to appear in front of her, “It would be fun to watch you and the others burn, but I have to get my people to prepare to come here. Because once this dungeon is down, this country is ours.”
She disappeared.
Neban put Siren back into his sub-space as he looked at the surrounding fire before zoning in on the spread that reached outside. Even though the dungeon pieces were coming down, he could still hear the people outside screaming as no one could stop the fire.
Siren was getting ready to complain about being put back because the human was close to death since fire surrounded him.
But Neban told them to quiet down as he put both of his hands on the ground. His health was low while he was already exhausted, but Neban thought about his son, parents, and the group.
So, he was getting ready to make another move that will take too much of his energy. Even though he barely had any.
He looked forward before saying in his mind: [Ice Prison].
The fire instantly froze over as the ice even stopped the dungeon from completely falling. The ice reached outside, causing the fire to stop there.
Then the ice began to create a barrier surrounding the dungeon. It reminded the people of a small prison. Neban was relieved that the fire and dungeon falling was over as he slipped to the ground.
His last thought was on Theo, ‘I’m coming home,’ before his eyes closed, and he met with darkness.
