The Porter is Secretly an SS-Level Hunter - Chapter 82: The Conla Clan (3)
Neban and Siren rushed through the battlefield, cutting down monsters with ease while saving other hunters.
There was no hesitation in Neban’s movements as he wanted to get rid of most of the monsters before running towards his home.
Siren had a vicious smirk on their face, covered by the hood, as they rejoiced in the blood flying everywhere. Some splattered on their face and clothes. Siren would lick the blood off their face before continuing.
Their movements were becoming more aggressive and faster than Neban’s.
Neban did not think of calming down Siren’s nature as he wanted to finish with the monsters quickly. After he cut down two more monsters, kicking their icy bodies to the ground, Neban looked forward.
These monsters were nothing compared to the others they fought.
Seeing how Siren and Neban were fighting, the other hunters had renewed spirit as they started to push the monsters back.
The humans were now on the winning side as the monsters started to decrease at an accelerated rate.
Neban shook the blood off his sword, looking around to see that the numbers looked good. He was ready to go to his house and check on his family.
“Siren,” Neban called as he saw that Siren gave up their weapon and started ripping monsters with their hands.
He pushed back his disgust at the mess; Neban swore that Siren loves bathing themselves with blood.
Siren ripped a monster’s head off, throwing it to the ground before facing Neban, “What? Are you ready to go? I was having fun.”
“I can see that,” Neban muttered as he stabbed a creature that tried to attack him from behind. “Let’s go to the house.”
Siren shrugged but made their way to Neban’s side.
Walking to one of the hunters, Neban told them he was going somewhere else. They nodded, telling him and Siren, ‘thank you for the help.’ (No one thought Siren was suspicious since some hunters cover themselves.)
He waved his hand before grabbing Siren and disappearing with [Shadow Travel].
Once they reached his home, he let go of Siren and stopped short. Before Siren could ask why he stood there, they saw a movement at the front door.
At the house’s entrance was the Conla Clan’s leader. The woman’s body moved left and right as she stood in front of the door. She smirked at Neban, showing off her fangs that hit against the sky that started to turn dark.
The snake that she wrapped around her neck was not there.
Neban gripped Ice Queen in his hand as fury appeared across their face. “Why are you here? Did you do something to my family?”
The woman hummed, “Your family is fine. But if you want to sssee them, you have to go through me. I told you that we would meet each other very sssoon.”
Gritting his teeth, his knuckles began to turn white due to his tight grip on his weapon’s handle. If looks could kill, he would have repeatedly taken the monster to hell and back.
Neban did not speak any words as he rushed forward, letting red cloud his vision. The initially sluggish feeling he had in his bones wholly vanished.
He wildly swung at the woman, aiming for vital areas on her body. The woman caught the weapon with a smug expression hitting her lips. But Neban did not look in distress as he quickly kicked her side with most of his strength.
The clan leader let go of the weapon as she flew to the side, hitting a pole. Her back slammed against the thing, but the impact did not faze her as she looked fine.
She clicked her tongue, her eyes falling towards Neban, “I am going to enjoy eating you, human.” The woman moved.
But she did not get far when Siren entered her view. He had three blades in each hand as he threw them at the woman. The clan leader abruptly stopped before leaning back, dodging them.
Due to her distraction with dodging the blades, she did not notice that a sword appeared in Siren’s hand. They sliced towards the woman’s bottom half.
The scales on her body were tough to cut through as they left a shallow wound.
Feeling the cut, the woman quickly slithered away, stopping in the street. She was a few feet from Siren and Neban.
Siren licked the tiny drops of blood on their sword off before speaking, “I hope you did not forget that I am here too.”
Neban walked away from the house’s entrance, even though he wanted to go inside to see if his family was okay.
But he had to get rid of the leader first.
He appeared next to Siren, staring the clan leader down with fire in his eyes. Neban pulled out his whip, holding it in his other hand.
Rushing towards the monster once again, Neban struck his whip out. The woman dodges the attack, causing the whip to strike the ground instead. When she saw that what the whip hit started to melt, she knew not to let the weapon touch her.
The clan leader spat out a few poisonous needles from her mouth. They were thin and hard to see unless someone flashed a light on them. When Neban started to attack her again, she silently threw them.
Neban did not notice the needles coming towards him as he aimed for the woman’s arm this time. He wanted to cut her limbs off one by one.
A smirk started to grow on her face as she saw that Neban did not notice the needles. They were close to striking him.
But it dropped when Siren appeared in front of Neban, pushing the man away.
Neban stumbled from Siren’s push before balancing himself. He was getting ready to ask why they did that when he saw needles impaled in Siren’s chest. He noticed that they had liquid covered on them, which meant that they were most likely poisonous.
“Siren,” Neban eyes widened a bit.
Siren rolled their eyes as they pulled the needles out; blood and the liquid dripped down as they mixed. They dropped them to the ground with a flick of their wrist, “Don’t worry; this poison cannot harm me as it can do you.”
Neban let out a sigh of relief before it turned into anger at how Siren let themselves get hurt. It did not matter if the poison cannot hurt them; what if the needles struck their heart? There is no going back from that.
He was getting ready to yell at Siren when the woman attacked him during his distraction. Neban swiftly turned, blocking the woman’s attack with Ice Queen.
They were at a standstill as Neban held her back while keeping his feet planted to the ground. The woman laughed before letting her impossibly long fork tongue out.
The tongue was utterly wet as saliva slid down it, dripping to the ground. When Neban saw the liquid hitting the floor, he noticed how it started melting.
Once the woman moved her tongue towards him, Neban quickly lifted his hand with the whip. He was going to melt it off before it could touch him. But Siren was faster than them both.
A knife entered the woman and Neban’s view before the color red came after it. The clan leader let out a scream as she slithered back, holding her hand to her mouth—blood seeped through the cracks of her fingers.
Siren cut off the woman’s tongue as it fell to the ground, moving. Neban backed away, so the blood or the thing couldn’t touch him.
Stepping on the tongue, Siren laughed at the blood splashing out.
Neban looked at the woman, seeing how she kept making noises, trying to get her tongue to stop bleeding. Doing one twirl with Ice Queen, he threw the weapon at the distracted monster.
The clan leader noticed the weapon coming but did not have the time to block it as it struck her stomach. She laughed, forgetting the pain as the sword could not go further in. The woman grabbed it with her bloody hands, getting ready to pull it out when she noticed the ice.
Neban watched as the woman started to freak out as she quickly pulled Ice Queen out, throwing it far from her. But that did not stop the ice as it began to take over her body; the process only sped up.
The woman tried to make the ice stop, but she knew that she couldn’t. She looked at Neban with anger in her eyes as she let fate take her. But she knew that it would only be the beginning for Neban as she smiled at him.
Neban and Siren looked at her bloody teeth and mouth, wondering why the monster was smiling even though she was dying.
It only took a second for their question to get answered. Something broke through the ground, under the woman, swallowing her body along the way.
Neban grabbed Siren, using [Shadow Travel] to move away from the area. If it was something huge, he did not want it near the house.
As they stopped at a good spot, they looked at the thing that came out of the ground. Neban’s hand tightened on his whip as he gazed at the monster.
It was an actual basilisk.
