The Possessed Cheater - Chapter 6 Why
“Wait.” I stopped him.
“What was with that insincere apology? Why did he even do that? I have no reason to accept your apology.”
He looked back at me, saying: “He’s mentally ill. You can’t be so petty as to be mad with an ill man, can you?”
That’s his excuse? I was almost raped, and this is what he has to say.
Ah, whatever. I can’t really be that petty, can I?
“Yeah, you’re right. I accept your apology.”
After hearing this, he thanks me and leaves.
Oliver, you really would be a great boyfriend if you didn’t cheat. But, I’ll never give you another chance. You never change. I don’t know why you’re like this, but it really hurts.
I love you.
Closing my eyes, tears started to come down. I cried for a while, and went down to the river to wash my face up.
I then went home, without letting my parents see me, and went to bed.
The next morning, I didn’t wait for Oliver and went to school by myself.
Strangely, I don’t see him, and until 10 am, no news came.
Unexpectedly, what came is of shocking news.
A woman, in her forties, with her hair cut in a Bob haircut, and her eyes were puffy and red. Wearing a long, pleated, black skirt and a black coat, came in to speak.
“I’m Oliver’s mom. I’m sure a lot of you know him. Yesterday, I don’t know what happened, but he had four girls in our house. After he kicked them out, he started writing something on a piece of paper. I don’t know what he wrote, but he went out and came back without it. When he came back, he silently went to his room without saying anything for the whole night. ”
With tears starting to roll down her face, she continues:
“This morning he didn’t wake up to go to school, so naturally I was worried. What I saw was my son and a white bed dyed in red. It was his blood. He… Commited suicide. My boy is dead!” she started to break down mentally, she was shouting and knelt down to cry.
The whole class fell silent. Many girls were in tears, and a few guys as well. I was pale, and my tears fell down unwillingly and I started to sob.
It took us 30 minutes to finally stop crying, and we sent the mom off.
Before leaving, she invited us all to her son’s funeral.
I left school early and went to me and Oliver’s secret place. It isn’t far away from our houses, but not many people knew of it.
I went there with tears in my eyes and went to our tree.
Now, I’m standing right before it.
Oliver, the letter you wrote, was it for me?
I can’t believe you’d do something so stupid as to end your life. How could you? Who let you? I still haven’t received your apology, you bastard.
I start to dig and look everywhere for that letter, in hopes to find it.
I finally find it after some time, and reading it, I start to cry even more.
