The President’s Man - Chapter 352
BAP!
There was literally the sound of a microphone being dropped as a reporter looked at them with his mouth wide open.
“Of all people…” someone murmured. It was obvious what everyone was thinking about. Of all people, she was with someone whom they had never suspected.
“President Du’s secretary is having a secret liaison with an unknown actress! This title would sell like a hotcake!” someone murmured under his breath.
“Oh my god! We’ve heard of presidents and actresses, but not many secretaries!” another reporter gasped. That was why no one ever bothered to look at the secretaries. After all, how many secretaries out there who were as powerful as Han Ye.
Han Ye wanted to roll his eyes at them, but to protect his image, he merely cleared his throat and said in a warning tone, “Now that everything’s clear, I’d appreciate it if none of you write sh*t about Ms. Xiao, or I won’t hesitate to take legal actions.”
He then turned around, taking Xiao Lei’s hand in his, as they both walked into the set.
“This is really… unexpected…” the director murmured as he looked at Xiao Lei and Han Ye. However, he did not think too much into it since it did not concern him nor did it concern the movie, and so, he quickly walked in as well after telling the guards to disperse the reporters.
…
“Han Ye, what are you doing here?” Xiao Lei asked as she looked at him, ignoring the gaze of everyone else. The last time they saw Han Ye, he was scolding her… and now, they were holding hands?
The workers as well as the cast members were shocked by this development.
“To see you,” Han Ye said. He then raised his hand that was holding the bag and said, “And I brought you lunch. I made them myself.”
“Oh,” Xiao Lei said with a slightly guilty expression. “I’ve eaten though.”
“Not as if you can’t eat more…”
“I’ll get fat from that.”
Han Ye smirked and leaned down to whisper in her ear, “If you do me as how you did me last weekend, I don’t think you’d need to worry about that.”
“Ssh!” Xiao Lei immediately raised a hand up to cover his mouth. She then glanced around to make sure that no one was looking at her weirdly. Once she felt safe, she lowered her hand and frowned at him. “I’m a big shot actress now. Please keep it in your pants, Mr. Han,” she said in a low voice before lighting hitting him on the abs.
“I know you like my abs, but please your hands to yourself, Ms. Xiao,” Han Ye retort jokingly. “Anyway, are you free to eat now?”
Xiao Lei sighed and shook her head slowly. “The reporters made a mess out of the schedule, so we are still filming the third scene of the day.”
“Is it a fighting scene?” Han Ye asked as he put the bag down on a table. He saw Vivian Siew looking over at them and asked, “Is she giving you any trouble lately?”
Xiao Lei followed his gaze, and when she looked at Vivian Siew, that woman just turned her eyes away haughtily. Xiao Lei then looked back at Han Ye and shrugged. “Nothing I can’t handle.”
“I hope that after today, she would stop with her little tricks. It’s annoying, just to hear about it,” Han Ye said with a slight frown as he turned back to look at Xiao Lei. “By the way, please tell me that you are using your stunt double,” he said with a brow raised.
“Yes, Mr. Han,” Xiao Lei replied with a roll of her eyes. “The stunt double did most of the action scenes.” She stretched her arms out as she continued, “Actually, once we wrap up the third scene, I should be able to leave.”
“Is he here?” Han Ye asked.
Knowing who he was asking about, Xiao Lei shook her head. “He doesn’t have any scenes today.”
He nodded. He reached out, wanting to wipe the dirt on her face, but then he realized that she needed the makeup. Even if he wiped it off now, they would put it back on her again later. So with a sigh, he placed his hand on her shoulder. “Well, it’s good then.”
“All actors get ready for scene 3, take 18!”
Han Ye and Xiao Lei both looked at the director’s assistant who shouted the words earlier.
“Well, I have to go and get ready,” Xiao Lei said as she looked at Han Ye. “Are you staying?”
“Of course,” he nodded and said with a gentle smile, “Don’t worry about me, just focus on your work. Let’s go home together.”
Xiao Lei smirked and nodded.
…
“Ok, all actors in position…” The director looked at his actors and actresses before yelling, “Ready… action!”
…
The woman, bloodied and with a broken leg, stared at her ex-husband and his mistress, who were both on their knees as they groveled. She held a gun in her hands, which she leveled on them. With tears falling down her eyes, she cried, “The day you took away my son, you took away my reason to live… You took away my humanity…”
She then c.o.c.ked the gun as her ex-husband yelled while he pushed his mistress in front of him.
“It’s her! She made me do it! It’s her fault! I didn’t want our son to die! Do you think it doesn’t hurt knowing that he’s gone?”
“You!” His mistress glared at him. She then looked back at the woman, her ex-bestfriend, as she pleaded, “It’s all his fault! He came between the two of us! He wanted to kill you, and because of that, your poor son was accidentally shot as well! And he still didn’t stop going after you!”
The woman swallowed as she wiped her tears off quickly. Her ex-husband did not stop in his attempt to kill her. If not for the unknown man who took her away from the hospital before her husband’s next hired assassin came for her, she would have been unable to take revenge for her son.
For a year, she went through grueling training, turning herself into an assassin while avoiding the men that her ex-husband kept sending after her. The unknown older man turned out to be the leader of a small gang, and he secretly took her in so that he could use her against his enemy. And her anger served him well.
The woman looked at the bickering duo in front of her, and the images of her young son started to play in her mind… and the image of him lying dead in front of her almost drove her crazy in anguish. Her eyes turned red as she thought about the cause of all these… Her ex-bestfriend. She could forgive her for stealing her husband, but what she couldn’t forgive was that she knew that the woman purposely leaked the information to her son, which caused the boy to run over to her apartment on that tragic day.
Without any warning, she released a shot in the woman’s head.
BANG!!!
