The President’s Man - Chapter 358
The next day,
The staff at Du Mansion was busy running about while setting up the place for the party later. Even though Han Ye planned for a small birthday party, there would still be quite a lot of people as all their friends and their families would be there.
DX was in the garden with Kai Xin and their youngest, while the twins, Tian Le, Quinn, and Caleb were playing with Little Monkey in the pool.
“I don’t get it. This is my house, right?” DX asked in an annoyed tone as he watched his wife feed their baby son.
“Oh, come on, DX…” Kai Xin rolled her eyes as she put Wyatt over her shoulder and gently burped him. “Han Ye has been a great help to you. Of course we have to help out a little.”
“I don’t mind helping out. Heck, I would just let him rent a hall at the Imperial Hotel for free, and I’d even throw in one of the best rooms for him.”
“Yeah, I know my husband is the best and the most generous boss in this world,” Kai Xin mumbled as she gently rubbed her palm on Wyatt’s back in a circular motion.
“Burp…” Wyatt burped out loud shortly after. He then giggled and rest his chin on his mother’s shoulder.
“Good boy,” Kai Xin said with a smile before slowly lowering him down and placing a kiss on Wyatt’s chubby cheeks. She then placed Wyatt down in his pram before looking at DX. “You can offer any hotels you want, but I want him to be here… We are his only family now. This is the first time he’s bringing his girlfriend home, so we need to support him.”
DX sighed. It wasn’t that he did not like Han Ye here, he just wanted to have his wife’s attention on himself only.
“Besides,” Kai Xin said as she picked up Wyatt’s teddy bear and played with him, “with all the paparazzi out there, it’s better for us to celebrate Xiao Lei’s birthday here. She’s somewhat a celebrity now, and it’s better if we don’t push our luck. And also…”
She looked up at DX and said in a soft voice, “I don’t feel as comfortable out there as when I’m at home.”
DX looked at her, and after a few seconds, he reached over and cupped her chin with his broad hand. He then kissed her on the lips. After lingering there for a few seconds, and when Wyatt protested at being ignored by making crying sounds, DX finally pulled away from his wife.
“You’re beautiful… Don’t care about what others would say,” DX said with a gentle smile as he gently caressed her cheek with the back of his hand. Kai Xin was still carrying some baby weights, and she had been feeling a little conscious about it even though she did not say it out loud.
Unfortunately, someone took a photo of her during their last outing and posted it online with some mean remarks. Of course, DX acted fast and took down those photos before making sure that the culprit was punished severely.
Even so, Kai Xin was affected… even if she kept saying that she was fine.
DX did not know how to tell her that the reason she lost the baby weight so fast when she gave birth to Little Monkey was that she was in a coma, and that she was actually doing great at the moment. DX knew that Kai Xin was still a little upset over missing the first few months of Little Monkey’s life, so he did not want to bring up that scary period of time.
After all, that was why she was so protective of Wyatt and that she could barely be apart from him most of the time. She did not want to miss out on any other things anymore.
“You’re always beautiful to me,” DX said, “even when you were 9 months pregnant with our little demon here.”
“Hey!” Kai Xin laughed as she slapped DX’s thigh with Wyatt’s teddy bear. “Don’t call our son a little demon.”
DX scoffed, “He’s always crying whenever I’m with you, even last night!”
He had been waiting for his wife to be in the mood, and yesterday, she was finally in the mood to attack him after a long, long time. All clothes were off, and they were having fun, but just when they were about to get absolutely serious, the baby monitor lit up and Wyatt’s crying came over.
“If that’s not a demon, I don’t know what is,” DX mumbled as he looked at his baby son who had his tongue out at him. He would have thrown the baby monitor away and let the servants deal with Wyatt if not for Kai Xin, who insisted on tending to their son. By the time Wyatt fell asleep, she was already too sleepy to continue.
“He’s just trying to protect his mummy from his big, naughty daddy who won’t let her sleep,” Kai Xin said as she looked at Wyatt, who was smiling at her. His chubby cheeks were so adorable that Kai Xin could not help but squeeze it. “Aren’t you, my little Wyatt? You’re going to protect me from Daddy, right?”
Wyatt’s reply was to reach out with both hands and touched his mother’s cheeks.
“He won’t be able to protect you for long…” DX said in a low voice as he looked at his wife with desire in his eyes. He was going to send the baby to the twins tonight and let them enjoy the fun of being older brothers… as well as to warn them what would happen if they did not use protection.
…
Meanwhile, Han Ye was busy in the kitchen with An Qiyan, cooking up a storm with the older woman’s help. An Qiyan’s boyfriend, Sima Erden, was in there with them, mostly to be their guinea pig.
“The soup’s pretty good,” Sima Erden said when An Qiyan fed him a spoonful of the Chinese Chicken Herbal Soup that Han Ye cooked. “Just need a bit more salt…”
Han Ye nodded and added a bit more salt in the soup. He then prepared the ingredients for the sweet and sour pork that the kids, and Xiao Lei, loved so much. Once he was done, he looked at the plate of fish that he prepared earlier on that Xiao Lei loved. He would steam the fish later on so that it would not be cold by the time dinner started.
He was responsible for only a few dishes, and he made sure to cook only Xiao Lei’s favorite. There was no way he could cook for so many people by himself, so Kai Xin hired some chefs to help him out.
“I hope she loves these…” Han Ye thought as he stirred the pot of soup.
