The President’s Man - Chapter 365
…
After leaving the room to Xiao Lei, Han Ye rushed to the kitchen to get the remaining of the other dishes ready. He then carefully brought everything out to the garden where a huge round table, and a smaller one, had been set up.
In the middle of each of the tables was a lazy Susan that had a built-in heating function, so they did not have to worry about the food getting cold while waiting for everyone to arrive. Han Ye put down a huge bowl of soup in the middle of the table that he would be sitting with while a servant helped with the dishes on the other smaller table, which would be where the younger kids would be sitting at.
He then quickly jogged back into the kitchen to bring out the remaining dishes. Once everything had been set up, Han Ye saw that he was right on time.
It was already almost 7 p.m, with 15 minutes left for him to prepare. He took a glance at the middle of the garden where the servants were putting up the presents from everyone in the shape of a Christmas tree. Even those who weren’t here tonight, such as Quinn’s two mothers and Caleb’s parents who had something important to attend to, had sent over their gifts in advance.
With a smile, Han Ye thought to himself, “I hope she would be happy with all these…”
He then quickly went into the mansion and told everyone that he could find to go to the garden. He also asked a couple of servants to inform those who are on the second floor.
“Master Han, I’ve brought you the set of clothes you asked for,” a servant suddenly said as he ran toward Han Ye while holding up a suit bag in his hand.
Han Ye, who was speaking to a man in the foyer, turned around to look at the servant.
“Thanks,” Han Ye said to the servant before looking back at the man he was talking to. The man’s muscles were bulging out of the pilot uniform that he was wearing, and the way the lights in the foyer bounced off the man’s head made Han Ye want to laugh slightly. However, he still managed to control himself so as to not offend this guy who would play an important role later. “I’ll count on you, Marshall.”
The man named Marshall grinned and said, “No problem, Mr. Han. Leave this to me.”
Han Ye nodded before turning around to take his neatly-pressed set of suit from the servant. Since he knew that Xiao Lei would be using his room, he had asked the servant to keep his dinner clothes for him until he asked for it.
Once he got the suit, he quickly ran to one of the empty guest rooms to change.
Han Ye looked at his own reflection in the mirror as he restyled his hair to something that would best match the navy slim-fit suit that he had on. He had gone all out tonight, including wearing a grey waistcoat.
“She would like this, right?” Han Ye thought as he stared down at himself. He was debating whether or not to remove the waistcoat when he finally shook his head and mumbled, “That woman loves good looking men who are fully suited… Argh, I should be fine then!”
He took out his phone and saw that he had a message.
[ Mr. Han, Ms. Xiao is still in her room… ]
Han Ye quickly put the phone back into his pocket before heading toward the East Garden, where everyone was already there.
“Hey, looking good, Han Ye,” Kai Xin said when she saw Han Ye walking out of the mansion. She then glanced at her husband who was holding a fork high so that Little Monkey, who was seated next to him, could not play with it and said loudly, “How about going out on a date with me?”
Crack!
The poor fork that DX was holding was now bent in half, and DX was now glaring at Han Ye with a “what have you been doing behind my back” look.
Han Ye gulped and quickly said, “P-please don’t joke around like that, Madam President Du!”
He then pulled Luo Guangying, who was chatting with Old Madam Zhen and Callum, over and said, “You can play with Madam President Du.”
Under Kai Xin’s amused glance, Han Ye then ran off to sit with the teenagers first. He then looked around and frowned slightly. “Why are they all fully suited?!” he groaned. He wanted to be the only one who was fully suited, but now that all the men in the house were dressed to kill, he would have trouble standing out.
It wasn’t that he was bad looking, but when he was standing next to those guys, it would be hard for his brilliance to shine through.
He then looked at the twins and asked, “Didn’t I tell you to tell your Dad to wear something less formal? And why are you guys in suit as well?”
All the teenagers had dressed up in suits of various colors and designs as well.
Lyle nodded. “We did.”
Jack then added, “But Dad said it wouldn’t be fun to do as what you said. So…”
He glanced at his father for a second before continuing, “He did the opposite and told everyone else to suit up as well. He even prepared one for Zhihao.”
Han Ye’s lips twitched upon hearing that. “So this is all President Du’s prank…” he mumbled to himself as he sighed loudly and facepalmed himself. Even after the man was married, the one that he pranked the most was still his poor secretary.
Shaking his head, Han Ye looked at Xiao Zhihao. The teenager was chatting with Quinn, who was seated between him and Jack, and there was a smile on the teenager’s face as he listened to Quinn drone on about something that happened when she was in London with her mothers.
Upon seeing Xiao Zhihao in his relaxed mode, Han Ye could not help but sigh in relief. He was glad that the teenager had slowly opened up to everyone and was now behaving more like a well-adjusted teenager.
He was about to say something when his phone vibrated in his pocket. Taking it out, he saw a message from the servant that he placed outside Xiao Lei’s room.
[ Ms. Xiao is on the move! ]
