The President’s Man - Chapter 369
…
Han Ye quickly excused himself instead of staying at his boss’ room for too long. He jogged all the way to Xiao Lei’s room, bumping into the teenagers along the way.
“Hey,” Han Ye said as he stopped in front of them. He quickly put the tiara in his hand behind his back so that the kids would not make fun of him. “I hope you guys have fun today.”
“Meh,” Jack waved a hand nonchalantly and said, “it’s good enough for an a.d.u.l.t party, but we still prefer our own parties.”
“Yeah, with lots of kids and games,” Quinn agreed. “I didn’t even get to meet new people in this party.
“Oh, stop complaining…” Jack groaned.
They started bickering again, leaving Han Ye both confused and flabbergasted. These two could argue just about anything. He shook his head and looked at Xiao Zhihao. With a somewhat shy expression, he asked, “So… Are you alright at spending the night here?”
Xiao Zhihao shrugged. “I would prefer my own bed, but I owe you a b*ttload of money, so it’s not like I can say anything.”
“Of course you can say something,” Han Ye quickly reassured him. “It’s just that you’d be alone at home, that’s why I arrange it so that you can stay here with them.”
He was planning on taking Xiao Lei somewhere far, and they probably wouldn’t return until tomorrow night. Knowing his lover, she would undoubtedly be constantly worried about her son if they were to leave him at home alone, even if there were people next door who could look after him.
“Ah,” Xiao Zhihao sighed. “Do whatever you want. Lyle, Quinn, and I are going to watch a movie at the movie room now.”
He walked with Quinn and Lyle toward the direction of the movie room, but a few steps later, he turned around and said with a stern expression, “Take care of my mother. If anything happens to her, if she even loses so much as a strand of her hair, I would never forgive you.”
“Don’t worry. I wouldn’t forgive myself either,” Han Ye said with a smirk. He then watched the three leave before turning to the other two. “You guys aren’t joining them?”
“Nope!” Jack answered loudly. “Hehehe… I got Mum’s permission to stay past midnight today. Tian Le and I are going to play games until morning!”
Han Ye raised a brow at Jack’s remark. Before he asked anything, Tian Le placed an arm around Jack’s shoulders and said to Han Ye, “We are young; a night without sleep is nothing to us. Go do your big boy stuff.”
He then dragged Jack away while telling the younger boy how he was going to destroy his a*s in every game.
Han Ye sighed before heading toward the guest room that Xiao Lei was in now.
Knock!
Knock!
Knock!
“Xiao Lei, it’s me!” Han Ye called out after knocking on the door.
“Come in!” Xiao Lei’s voice sounded a few seconds later. When Han Ye opened the door, he saw Xiao Lei in a simple T-shirt and a pair of jeans. “How do I look?”
“Ready to kill…” Han Ye said as he closed the door behind him. “Why am I not surprised you chose to wear pants?”
He had asked the servant to prepare a few sets of clothes, which included dresses and skirts.
She shrugged. “You said to be comfortable… Is this alright?”
Han Ye nodded. “That should be fine. It can be quite windy…”
He then walked to her and placed the tiara on her head. “There. Party continues.”
“Why are you so silly today?” Xiao Lei murmured as she took the tiara off. “This doesn’t match my current style at all.”
“Hmm, bring it with you nonetheless,” Han Ye said as he walked to the closet and pulled out two small luggage. “I have packed everything you need here, but is there anything else that you want to bring?”
“No, I’ve got… Wait, what?” Xiao Lei looked at him, confused. “Where are we going? I thought we would just be going for a long drive or something… You know, things that guys always do on dates.”
Han Ye smirked, “I’m not that kind of guy… Come on, pack up your stuff. We are leaving soon.”
Even though Xiao Lei had plenty of questions, she decided to keep them to herself for now and see what he was up to. After all, she had been quite satisfied with his plan so far.
Han Ye looked around, and when he did not see anything that might be important to her, he nodded. “Alright, let’s go…”
He took the two bags and pointed at the door with his chin. “Ms. Xiao, would you please open the door for this poor bellboy? My hands are kind of full.”
“Where are we going?” Xiao Lei asked as she opened the door. She thought she could pretend to be indifferent, but she could not. When Han Ye ignored her and walked out of the room with the luggage, she asked again, “What about Zhihao? Is he coming with us? How many days are we going?”
“Don’t worry about anything,” Han Ye said as he passed the luggage to a servant who was waiting near the room. “Am I a man who would do things without thinking properly? Everything has been prepared, and Zhihao would be staying here for the night. No, he wouldn’t be much of a bother to anyone in this household. We would be going for a night trip, and no, I won’t tell you where. You will know when you get there.”
When Xiao Lei wanted to say something else, Han Ye covered her mouth with his hand and whispered to her ear, “Sssh… You might want to let those pretty lips of yours rest for now. Who knows, you might be unable to rest it later.”
Xiao Lei raised a brow, wondering why she wouldn’t be able to rest it. And when she figured it out, her cheeks turned red slightly, and she tried to slap Han Ye’s shoulder.
Unfortunately for her, the man dodged away, and with a cheeky smile, he said loudly, “What? I meant there would be lots of food there later.”
“That’s not what you meant at all!” Xiao Lei growled.
“Then do you want to tell everyone here what I meant?” Han Ye teased as he opened his arms wide.
Xiao Lei looked around and saw that there were a few members of the staff walking around, cleaning up and whatnot, and she immediately clamped her mouth shut. She then looked at Han Ye and mumbled, “This better be good, or you’re dead later…”
“And I love you too…” Han Ye chuckled as he took her hand.
