The Princess With The Jet Black Hair - Chapter 53 Chapter 6
“In about five months time, are we going to discuss about our marriage?”
Beck almost choked when he heard that, “…What?”
“Have you forgotten? It’s a custom for both Rosavale and Oliver family to do this. Your parents didn’t not do it, but let’s not break the custom further.” She explained, before looking straight at him, “I know you’re engaged, but it doesn’t matter. I mean you don’t love her, right? So, after about five months you two can just call it off and be on your own ways.”
The table went absolutely silent.
Suddenly, Mary stood up, “I’ve had it! What the hell is wrong with you? Why are you getting between the two of them? What makes you think you’re better? Compared to you, Emily is so much better than you. Not only her heart, but also her looks is so much better .”
Everyone else, who were at their own tables, turned their heads to see what the commotion was all about.
Isabella shot up to her feet and retaliate, “Who do you think are you? You’re just someone whom the king and queen picked up by the gutter. You’re not a noble of any sort. So, why is someone like you trying to tell me these things. You’re just a nobody.”
Hearing that, Mary scoffed, “Nobody or not, at least I have morals, knowing where’s my place and what’s my limits.” She then gave Isabella a smirk, before mocking sarcastically, “Keep up these shameless acts, I’m sure your Father will be proud of you, Miss Rosavale.”
Emily’s eyes widened in shock and she would be lying if she said that she had the urge to drop her jaw. Of course, she did not because Yukiko said it was ‘unladylike’. “I didn’t know Mary could say such things. Even so, we are attracting way too much attention.”
Isabella remained silent, even though she was clearly offended. Eyeing down at her fists, Emily noticed that they were clenched, “She’s probably really angry.”
“Now that I think about it, you’re actually a nobody who was lucky enough to be born in a rich family. Without your Father, you’re literally nothing. So, you should really try to keep that position, otherwise you’re going to be like me, a nobody.” Mary snorted which fuel her anger.
In a split second, she swung her hand, going for Mary’s face.
Emily immediately stood and took that for her friend.
That slap was so hard that she stumbled slightly to the side, causing her grab onto the table to support her body. Hanging her head lowly, she shook her head a little to prevent herself from passing out, “Ow. That hurts.”
“What do you think you’re doing?!” Mary scowled as she glared at Isabella, before checking if Emily was okay.
Blood trickled down Emily’s jaw and then onto the table cloth, “Damn, why are her nails so long?”
“It was an accident. I was going for you, she just happened to stand in front of you.” Isabella explained without a sense of guilt.
“What? Are you kidding me? Your arms aren’t long enough to reach me. If you wanted to slap me, you would have walked closer! But, you didn’t. You knew Emily was going to stand up, so you did it from there, right?!” Mary then took a step forward, before continuing, “You’re jealous, aren’t you?”
Isabella bit her lips in anger, she then grabbed a nearby glass of iced water. This time, she attempted to threw water on Mary.
Unintentionally, Emily stood in front of Mary, “Mary, it’s fine. It’s just an–” Before she could finish, she felt the cold liquid made contact with her face, before dripping down to drench the dress that she was wearing, “–Accident”
Without feeling guilty, Isabella giggled, “It is an accident. I didn’t ask her to be there, she is just… well, there.”
Emily stood there for a moment. Her heart was pounding faster and faster, as if it was about to explode at any second. Her breathing was irregular. Her chest tightened, making it hard for her to breathe and the persistent whisperings definitely were not helping her at all, “…I need to get out of here.”
Without taking her purse, she just rushed for the door. Just as she past by her father, he grabbed her arm, “Emily, are y–”
“…Let me go.” She immediately interjected, without looking at her him, “Please.”
The king turned to his wife for her opinion. She did not say anything, instead she just nodded, telling him to let their daughter go.
He did let go, releasing his daughter.
Upon release, she just rushed for the door and left the ballroom.
“Wow, I didn’t know the Fiore’s princess was afraid of water.” Isabella scorned as she placed the glass on the table before continuing, “That’s sad, I still needed to ask her about breaking the engagement between Beck and he–”
She could not find the words to continue when she felt cold liquid running down her face, afterwards her whole body. She looked up and saw a glass that was emptied, since its liquid was already on her.
“Whoops, it’s an accident. I didn’t meant to do it. As you can see, I tripped.”
(Spoilers, she didn’t trip)
Isabella was shocked once she realised who did that to her, it was a girl with white hair…
Yumemiya Yukiko.
Yukiko smiled innocently at Isabella as she withdrew her hand and held the glass between her palms.
“You did this on purpose!” Isabella yelled as her initial charming image was slowly shattering, “You didn’t trip at all, did you?!”
“Who knows?” Yukiko replied as she continued smiling, “…But, it’s refreshing isn’t it? No wonder you did that to the Fiore’s princess.”
“How dare you do this to me?! See what will happen if I tell this to my father!” She threatened, “You will be punished!”
“Really? That’s bad, isn’t it?” Yukiko folded her arms and tapped her cheek a couple of times before speaking, “Hmm, maybe I should lock you up here, so your message will not reach your father? Or… Should I just eliminate for good?”
Yukiko’s words just sent chills down Isabella’s spine, “She looked so innocent, but why do I feel like she mean it. Those icy blue eyes… They scare me.”
Whipping her head around, her eyes darted from left to right, looking for Beck for protection. However, he was not next to her. Instead, he was standing next to the king, “I’ll go look for Emily.”
The king nodded, excusing him to leave the ballroom.
Now that Beck was gone, Isabella felt vulnerable.
She started shaking as she looked at the approaching Yukiko. She immediately shouted, “S-Stay away!”
Yukiko did not.
She went closer to Isabella’s ear and whispered, “…I’m kidding, Miss Rosavale.”
She then backed away from her and gave her an innocent smile.
“Alright, Miss Rosavale, I’ll be going now. Have a good evening.” Yukiko winked before returning to her table where her family members were, leaving to the startled girl shaking in fear.
