The Princess’s Doll Shop - Chapter 27
Aquamarine and padparadscha sapphire should be the main choices, while the necklace and the ring should be lighter in color yet still stylishly large, dazzling, and brilliant.
The earrings and bracelets should be a little bit darker yet with a petite and fashionable style.
Good. Madame Rita and the maids shook their hands after coming to an agreement.
“Your Majesty, please stay still. Please don’t move.”
Their vision confirmed, the maids moved around her in a rush.
They applied colored makeup on Kathia’s smooth face that was taken care of for this very day and put half of her full, wavy pink hair halfway up to create rose shapes.
This so-called ‘war’ advocating for bedizenment lasted for half a day.
Looking at Kathia on the pedestal for a final confirmation, Madame Rita looked captivated.
“Princess… I am certain. Today onwards for sure, you will be the center of the Brezina Empire, this Rita swears on her wrist— no, on her life!”
“Thank you for your kind words.”
Kathia forcefully lifted the corner of her mouth and smiled. As the sunset and the time of the banquet approached, her chest began to heave uncontrollably.
I couldn’t DARE to be the center of attention.
‘I’ll be thankful not to be stabbed by a sword.’
I’m a low-class thing that got rolled into such a high-class place. I already know that I cannot be welcomed by these people, noble even from their birth.
I know, but…
Even so, I still needed a lot of courage on my way to being ostracized.
“Don’t worry about anything, Princess. Humans are weak animals when it comes to visuals, a lot more than you think.”
Madame Rita whispered to the much-disturbed Kathia. Even before she had a chance to ask what that meant, Hannah entered the room.
“Oh my god. My daughter… You’re so, SO beautiful.”
“Mom, you know, if you talk like that, it’s not believable, right?
Although she doesn’t look as incredible as Kathia, Hannah also looked impressive herself.
While they were busy complimenting each other’s beauty, besides the loving mother and daughter pair, Madam Rita clenched her chest and fell.
She spoke something about after having the honor to greet the two goddesses, she was ready to rise to the heavens.
As soon as Kathia briefly smiled, so fast it’s almost scary, Madam Murphy spoke.
“It is time.”
Just in time.
Kathia and Hannah both sighed but it was unknown who did so first. For the first time in these five years of captivity, they were stepping away from this confined detached palace with mixed feelings of fear.
Outside of this detached palace, there rested a white carriage sent by the emperor himself, awaiting them.
Kathia and Hannah held each other’s hands, in the midst of the rattling carriage and chaotic minds.
Even until exiting the carriage on the way to entering the banquet, they didn’t let go of their hands.
Because they held hands, they were able to withstand the glowering from their surroundings and the pressure of the enormous banquet entrance.
“The Imperial Consort, Hannah Leive del Brezina, and the Imperial Princess, Kathia Milo del Brezina have arrived!”
The silence at the end garnered attention.
At the end of that short moment of silence, a large ruckus ensued.
As if to confirm their worries about ostracism and mockery, people flocked around them.
It was chaos. Even to this date, she still couldn’t remember how that moment passed.
They were engulfed in a mass of people scrutinizing them from top to bottom and introducing themselves as some marquess or children of some count.
“I heard you had silky hair the color of cherry blossoms. I see that it is true.”
The crowd retreated as they heard the calming voice of a woman. Instinctively feeling the pressure, Kathia tensed her back.
She’s coming. The most exquisite lady of this place. The Imperial Consort.
Between the two, perhaps…
“It’s quite a precious color. Very tough to obtain.”
It must be her. The second Imperial Consort.
*
Of course. I knew she would come.
It was almost predictable, thinking back to the present she sent seven years ago.
Most likely, the First Imperial Consort won’t show up even until the banquet ends. The person who is noble and royal down to her very bones doesn’t even bother hiding her dislike.
