The Pursuit Of Power - Volume 1 Chapter 43 The Limits Of Samsara
After cuddling with Hana for a while, Yuuki tried to use the experiences he gained from the Samsara Trial, but instead, all he felt was a painful headache.
‘It seems that 30 minutes is my limit. I could not even switch to use the other lives’ memories’
{You are right about that. From the System, I can tell you that the Samsara Trial was not meant to be the first trial. You saw how easy the second trial was, right? That was meant to be your first trial.}
‘So why was it so bad that I experienced the cycle of Samsara? It’s not like I changed at all. I feel that my traits are as they always were as the trial forced me to experience many lives where it was like my sense of self was being stripped from me.’
{Firstly, Samsara has become forbidden as a way of extending the lives of anyone. Just the fact that you, lived 999 lifetimes and a couple of seconds passed by is enough to understand the dangers it presents to other beings. The power that could be amassed from Samsara is insane. Aaaaand that’s all the System told me. Did that answer your questions?} As always, Yuuki then engaged in a pleasant conversation with Hina who’s voice attempted to pull at his heartstrings now and again but never succeeded.

Once Hana had woken up from the stretching of her Mana Circuits after falling unconscious, rather than feeling lethargic, she felt the opposite. Energy filled her body as she recalled the warmth of both Yuuki’s hands and his Mana which she felt flowing within her body naturally as though it were her own. Still cuddling her, Yuuki spoke.
“That is your own Mana, it used to be mine and now, I passed it onto you.”
Hana giggled for a second. “Is Mana some new STD?” Yuuki also laughed as Hana turned around to look him in the eyes.
“Well, no.” Laughing again, Yuuki made Hana shine brightly as she smiled at him. “Anyway, how do you feel?”
Thinking about it for a second, Hana closed her eyes. “I feel warm and full of energy.”
“Good.” He replied. “Mana will allow you to do many things, defending yourself being one of them.”
Inquisitively gazing into his eyes, she made Yuuki understand her feelings about his words.
“Hana, I won’t be able to be here with you at all times. Though I don’t want to separate from you, I have to go to places eventually where I can’t take you with me. Even when I am going out to do my job as a Hunter, I am not here and that scares me. Believe me, there is nothing that terrifies me except your wellbeing.”
Hearing him caused warm feelings to infiltrate her mind, she was originally going to counter his words but looking into his eyes left her speechless as she felt the intensity of the care contained within his eyes.
“I’m glad you understand.” Speaking softly, he leaned forward and kissed her lips then he caressed the side of her face lightly and planted more kisses along her cheek. His other hand combed through her back-length brown hair. His gentle smile and loving caused her heart to skip a beat.
“Alright, let’s sleep now. Your body is exhausted right now.” True to his words, Hana could not lift her arm more than a couple of inches before it fell onto her side again.

Hana seemed to have an inbuilt affinity for Ice Magic. This caused Yuuki to equip his title, Mr. Freeze and started with very basic spells that did not need a large area.
Whenever Hana attempted to cast a spell, an error would occur and Yuuki had to calm down the raging frost. Holding out the Leviathan Dagger was able to conduct the frost so he handed it to Hana for her to use it to temper her usage of Ice Magic.
Yuuki’s proficiency with Ice Magic was miles above what it previously was. After embedding the ways he used Magic when he used [ Samsara ] into his mind, he was able to retain the memories that were attributed to certain types of Magic. Namely, Ice, Darkness, and Fire.
Once he completed his Daily Quest as Hana practiced Ice Magic, Yuuki received a burst of healing as the quest always replenished his stamina and health right after he accepted the rewards. By now, Yuuki had some idea how it worked. A Magic Circle was formed and cast onto his body by the System as it used the surrounding Mana to do so. The Circle was previously invisible to him until the recent boost of every stat reaching almost 300.
In his Shop, he saw something that caught his attention.
[ 1x Greater Lucky Spin ]
Feeling lucky, Yuuki activated it mentally as he conversed with Hina over what she thought he would get.
[ Received 1x Goro Goro No Mi ]
“Eh? What’s this?”
[ Goro Goro No Mi ]
Rank: C
Description: A mystical fruit that allows its consumer to gain the ability to control, create, and transform into Lightning. There are drawbacks as the fruit has to be paired with something else to become complete. The consumer becomes invincible to purely strength attacks. Without the missing ingredient, the consumer becomes weak after coming into contact with seawater.
Pulling it out of his inventory into his hands, Yuuki felt the fruit’s texture and probed it with his [ Perception ] skill. The results? Yuuki was able to feel the lightning within the fruit and its aura.
‘I can use this even without consuming it.’
His thoughts were true, once he tried merging his Mana with the Lightning aura surrounding the fruit, they combined. Though once the Mana appeared, it was absorbed by the fruit.

‘This is good! Great!’
Once he got home from his run through the nearby park, Yuuki entered the now familiar apartment which they could happily call home. From here, new memories would sprout and Yuuki relaxed as he sat down on his couch and turned on the news to see if anything interesting had happened.
“-ants, a team of Hunters will be sent to raid Jeju Island very soon. These Hunters include S-Ranks from our country along with Japan’s S-Rank Hunters from the Guild led by Goto Ryuji. The team gives us the hope that finally, we can get rid of the Gate.”
Pondering over what he should do, Yuuki did not mind putting himself in the spotlight as he could leave Chad, Raven, and Leo to watch over Hana whilst he was gone. With his speed, he could just fly over or run on the ocean.
‘I guess I will just…’
