The Queen of Mafia - 101 Eat the snakes or eat me
“It didn’t look like it was going to stop raining soon.” Aisha cringed as she observed the heavy rainfall from the entrance of the small cave that Lucian found.
From the outside, the cave looks spacious because of the huge entrance, giving the illusion that it is big but when you go inside, you will find a close space area.
Well, beggars can’t be choosers.
At least the cave has a small body of water. And it doesn’t have bats or any creepy insects.
“Tell me about it,” she heard from behind her. “It’s the time of the month where rain is expected to pour from time to time.”
“What are you doing?” Aisha turned around when she heard “ka-chak”. “You’re creating fire?”
“Hmm,” Lucian hums as he nods. His big hands are holding two pieces of rocks with sharp edges, and below the ground was the twigs and dried leaves that he found from who knows where. “You have a knife?”
“Of course!” Aisha reached down to her boots, she removed her right boot and pulls out her foot covered with thin black foot socks. Aisha cringed as her already wet socks feels uncomfortable, and retracted a swiff knife from her boot. “Here, don’t worry, it smells nice.”
Lucian took the knife from her and give her a teasing smirk. “Even if it’s smell bad, I’ll gladly take it, after all…”
Aisha cocked her head to the side, waiting for that sweet remark of his from his smooth mouth.
“I really need a knife right now.” Lucian finished.
“Haha, Fvck you!” Aisha laughs sarcastically as she sat on his opposite direction.
“Nah, I would like to do it around.” Lucian smirked as he looked down, he grabbed one rock and started striking it with the sharp edge of the knife, hoping to create a spark.
As Aisha was watching him, she made a gesture to him to return the knife to her. “Hand me the knife.”
“Why?” Lucian knitted his brows, not once did he stop his action.
“I’ll cut my hair, it’ll help to have a fire faster.”
“No.” Lucian disagreed sternly.
“It’ll grow back, Lucian,” Aisha rolled her eyes. “The reason why I kept my hair this long despite being a bothersome most of the time is because for this kind of situation.”
“Oh? Not because of something else?” Lucian absent-mindedly asked, his mind going back when they were a kids.
“I want to cut my hair.” The three years old Aisha pouted as the eight years old Lucian tied her hair in a tight bun.
“Be still, Ciana, it’ll hurt more if you move around like this,” Lucian frowns at her. “And why do you want to cut your hair? You’ll look more beautiful with long hair.”
“Really!?” Aisha beams at him. “Then I’ll always make sure that I’ll keep my hair long for you!”
“Is there any reason except for this?” Aisha’s voice pulls Lucian out of his memories.
“Never mind,” Lucian shook his head. “There’s no need to cut your hair, I’ll make fire soon.” And true to his words, after a few more strikes, he soon had a fire roaring, breathing light into the darkened cave.
Aisha looked up to see Lucian. His hair are still wet with droplets of rain falling from some of his strands covering some of his forehead. His deep blue eyes looked blazing as the fire was reflected in his eyes. He looked so enchanting and undeniably beautiful at that moment.
Aisha didn’t eat anything since last night, and while she was used to skipping meals, but as she looked at the handsome, and sexy devil in front of her, she realized that she was more than hungry.
“I’ll melt if you keep staring at me like that.” Aisha was slightly startled when Lucian raised his gaze and give her a smug look.
“Shut up!” Aisha leans forward to flicked his forehead, and then stood up from her seat. “Give me the knife, I’ll go outside to hunt some edibles foods.”
Lucian frowns and also stood up from his seat. “I’ll go instead, you stay here.”
“Lucian,” Aisha sighs frustratedly. “I can manage. I’ve been trained for this ever since I was a child.”
“I know, but I can’t let you go outside with a heavy rain and injured legs and shoulders.” Lucian argued.
“And you’re not?” Aisha raised her eyebrow at him. “You also have injuries, Lucian.” She retorted.
Lucian was about to counter her when her sharp senses sense a movement from the deeper part of the cave. Lucian also sense it and was about to take action but Aisha was much faster than him. She quickly took the knife from his grasp and accurately throws the knife where the movements came.
As soon as the sound of a knife striking some kind of flesh was heard, both of them heard a hissing sound.
I spoke too soon, Aisha thought as she went to the dead snake with her knife pierced right into its head. There wasn’t any bats or insects in a cave but a snake.
Lucian observe the structure of the snake and frowned, “Don’t get any closer, Ciana, it’s a rattlesnake. Even after a rattlesnakeis killed, the snake’s head is still capable of biting and injecting venom, so be careful.”
“I know.” Aisha said but Lucian’s warnings didn’t stop her to step closer to the snake. The head of the snake stirrs. Aisha held the handle of the knife, and with one swift pull, she retrieve the knife from the snake’s head and quickly stamped her foot on the head of the snake.
And then numerous hissing sound was heard.
“No wonder there isn’t a single bat in the cave, these snakes must’ve eaten them.” Lucian commented as he looked at the three snakes staring at them with vigilance. “Looks like we don’t need to go out to hunt foods.”
“Urgh, venom.” Aisha cringed as she remembers why her body was immuned to poison. It was because of being poisoned many times.
“Either eat the snakes or eat me. Take your pick.” Lucian teasingly said and launch at the snakes preparing to attack his wife.
