The Queen of Mafia - 104 Let's end this
And of course… Aisha won. Lucian may have a chance to beat her in terms of strength but when it comes to speed? Aisha is sad to say that the person who is destined to beat her in terms of speed hasn’t been born yet.
When they got back to the Abyss famiglia’s manor, both of them scared the people there with their horrible looks. Then they both showered to clean themselves… of course, they showered separately. After that, Aisha went to find Freohr while Lucian went out to investigate Freohr’s assassination.
They told her that not once did Freohr woke up after he was rescued. And Aisha was waiting beside his bed for four hours, waiting for him to woke up.
Then his eyes stirred. Aisha saw this and rose from her seat. “How are you feeling?” Aisha asked as soon she saw Freohr opening his eyes.
Freohr heard a familiar voice from above and groaned painfully. He open his eyes before shutting them close again because of the light harrassing his eyes. After a couple of minutes, Freohr opens his eyes again, his vision are a bit blurry but after blinking for a few times, his vision starts getting better.
“Aisha,” he called when he saw her hovering his body.
“I’m here,” Aisha said and then return to her seat. “Alfred recieved your distress message but when we got there, the fight is over and you fell into the cliff. It was a good thing that Costas was there and save your àss.”
“Costas?” Freohr’s brows lifted in surprise. “Costas, as in your father’s right hand man? Haven’t heard of him since… he retired being a mafia for the safety of his family.”
“Then you will be surprise to know that he is the Police Chief here in Kingsley City.” Aisha said with a smirk.
“A former mafioso, a police? Get out of here!” Freohr shook his head at her, keeping in mind that he can’t move too much because of his injuries. Not like his body is letting him though, it hurts like a bïtch even the slightest movement of his.
“Hey, do you think I am kidding?” Aisha raised her eyebrow at him. “I’m as equally as surprise as you are when Augustus mentioned his name to me a few days ago.”
“Why did he became a police considering the reason why he retired being a mafioso was because of the safety of his family? Being a police is as dangerous as being a mafia.” Freohr asked thoughtfully.
“Beats me,” Aisha shrugged her shoulders. “Anyways, even though that old man often throws us into near death situation, I’m not exactly close to him to know how his weird brain works.”
“True,” Freohr chuckles. “I think other than me, Alfred, Nicolette and Uncle Morano, you are not close to anyone.” Freohr paused all of a sudden while Aisha was silent because of his words.
Morano was gone, Nicolette betrayed her, while her relationship with Alfred might be at risk in this time, and also her relationship with Freohr. Although, Aisha already knew what was at stake here when she decided to kidnap Kristen and have her revenge to the Cavelli famiglia, but thinking that this bond between them will break and be replace by deep hatred, just the thought of it makes Aisha’s heart feels heavy.
“Well, you have Aeron now, so you have more person to rely on.” Freohr finished in a hushed tone that if it weren’t for Aisha’s sharp hearing, she would’ve missed it.
“Freohr…” Aisha closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Here goes nothing, she opened her eyes and said, “I need to talk to you abo—”
“Let’s end this.” Freohr suddenly cut off in Aisha’s mid-sentence.
Caught of guard, Aisha stared wide eyed at him. Seeing her stupified look, Freohr smiled bitterly. “This engagement between us, let’s end it. From the very start, it is just an engagement made by our parents. Continuing it will only make our lives miserable. It is best to end it.”
Aisha looked down and grasped his hand in between of her hands, then she lifted it up to her lips and give it a gentle kiss. “I’m sorry, Freohr.”
“Come on, no need to feel sorry.” Freohr said in a cheerful tone, trying to lift the solemn atmosphere in the room. “It was really okay. And it’s also my decision so this thing will fall in my blame—”
“You saw us, didn’t you?” Now it was Aisha’s turn to cut him off. She look at him with a serious, and yet a grim expression. “Aeron and I… you saw us, didn’t you?” Though, it is a question, but to Freohr it seems like a statement.
Instead of answering her, Freohr tried to pull himself into a seating position. Ignoring the discomfort and pain in his chest as he gritted his teeth to stop the painful groan that wants to escape from his lips. As soon as he was seated, he face Aisha and pat her in the head despite knowing that she hates it when someone pats her in the head.
“You and Aeron… are a perfect match.” He swallowed, forcing the bitterness down to his throat. “But you should know that it is not the reason why I want to end this engagement. The thing is… I want to be free. But please don’t get me wrong, I just feels like… both of us are being tied down by a shackles unwillingly and… ah! It was hard to explain.” Freohr messed his hair in frustrating, earning a chuckle from Aisha.
“There’s no need to explain, I understand.” Aisha said. “But I still felt guilty, knowing that you are here because you saw the two of us… err… kissing.” There was a faint blush appeared on her cheeks but Aisha quickly hides it with her hair.
“Oh, that,” Freohr laughs awkwardly. “Well, I got shocked but that was it. Although, I’ve always known that Aeron has a thing for you for a long time, it still surprised me that both of you are… comfortably close with each other.”
You will be more surprise to know how we get so “comfortable close”, Aisha thought, remembering that night she was drugged in Freohr’s very own room.
“Also, I can see that you also felt something to him.” Freohr added, and there was a faint smile in his mouth. “Aeron better treat you better or else I’ll beat him into pulp!” He threatened in a joking manner but one who knows him could tell that he meant his threat.
Aisha laughs. “He won’t, he’s treating me well and if ever he did something to hurt me, I will be the first one to cut off his dïck.” As she was speaking, she rose to her seat. “I’ll call the doctor the check your condition. I’ll be back later.”
“Sure,” Freohr smiles warmly at her, watching her back as she walks farther away from him.
That back that he is always seeing in front of him ever since he was a kid. Wanting to reach to her and walk alongside with her, but with every steps and run he makes, it always seem that he can’t reach her and was only meant seeing her walks farther and farther away from him.
Once the door was closed, the smile on his face vanished as he look down at his clenched fists.
It was better this way, he told to himself. It was better that it was him who ended it all, in this way, both of them could still be close. They could still continue the way they are before. He could still be her best friend and brother.
Freohr repeatedly said this to comfort his broken heart, but he still couldn’t stop the tears escaping from his eyes.
