The Queen Wicked Deeds - Chapter 82
“My fellow students of the first year of the Engineering path. I, your Principal and guide of this mighty faculty, Adam Robinson, welcome all of you.”
The young students clapped their hands. They were quite impressed by the installations and the magnanimous ambiance of the laboratories. However, what they looked forward to, more than anything, was the mixed lab donated by VinDev, to create devices with magic and their techniques.
“Now that we are all reunited here,” the Principal smiled widely at the young lads that had eyes shining with delight at his mere presence. “I shall give you some rules, the first one, is to always get in time for your lessons…”
The door opened and the steps of two girls came from the main doors. One reading a report in her hands, the other guiding the young girl with red hair to not crash with anything.
“Princess Anne!”
“She is the Princess of Lith, the most outstanding princess of them all!”
“Oh my! I can’t believe I am going to be in the same faculty as her!”
The Principal widened his eyes. He didn’t believe the note of the princess when she asked to enter the Engineering path. He thought she was kidding.
“Princess Anne Du Lith?” he asked in a frightened voice.
“Yes?”
Anne finally woke up from her distraction. She was on her way to the lab when the report on her hands caught her attention. If not for the help of Moira that was following her from behind, she would have ended on the floor or in a flower bed, or even the cafeteria. If her eyes don’t guide her path, then her nose will take over.
[Laura Hughes,
“Do you know her?” Anne looked at the fluffy white dog at her side.
“Woof!” the dog with his beautiful eyes and wagging tail showed happiness when the mention of the little girl entered his ears. She was the one who took care of the pets and fed them delicious food. Her gentleness will be forever engraved in his heart.
Anne smiled and nodded with a finger in her chin. “She will be a hard competitor.”
Moira tapped in her arm for a bit and guided her to look at the man that was as pale as any other white paper.
“Princess Anne?” he kept repeating.
“Oh, good morning, Principal Adam… Robinson,” she smiled and bowed in a ladylike manner. Then she flashed a bigger smile to the rest of the students that were shot right into their hearts. Instant kill. “I am sorry for interrupting your speech, please continue.”
She stood in the back when suddenly a group of students entered with tables and chairs, even some trays with snacks and cakes. Moira approached one of the chairs to give it to Anne.
“Master, please,” she extended her hand as the bright knight she was and Anne was guided to sit on the chair in front of a round table. Then a small fruit tart appeared suddenly in front of her. It was Eliot’s incantation.
Now that he was in his Magic Faculty, it would be difficult to see him, so he did a special plate that can summon the fruit tarts from the kitchen. Anne couldn’t help but almost jump in delight from the most amazing gift she had ever received.
The other students watched the show with bright eyes and saliva drooling from their mouths. “You can come and eat as you wish, my dear fellows.”
Anne smiled again. However, the next words from the principal stopped them all. “The second rule is no eating inside the lab building. No exception.”
He looked at Anne that was already taking the second bite to her fruit tart. Only a few seconds inside the faculty and she was already breaking three rules.
“No pets allowed inside the lab building.” That was the third as Gandalf began to play with his ball and other students.
[Laura was no ordinary kid from the beginning. Her parents were afraid she will cause problems with her overly cheerful mode. She will go running through the streets with her friends and get into thousands of troubles.
One time she broke the windows of the neighbor with a frisbee, then the next day as she apologized to her parents, she broke the jars on the table, expensive-looking jars.
They had to sell their house to pay for the damages and started living in the room upstairs their shop. However, the little Laura didn’t stop getting into trouble.
Another time she entered into a fight with her schoolmates from the town. They were bullying a little kid with red eyes that was homeless and mute. She fought those people and kicked their ȧsses. However, during the fight, she was pushed down some stairs and her head hit the ground.
Her parents were so worried. They sold a part of the shop to get a medical wizard to help but it was not fast enough and she died. However, the next day… she woke up miraculously.
They all thought that it was a mistake and that she just was sleeping, or so the wizard told everyone to hide the fact that he was also astonished.
From then on, her character and personality had changed. Her parents said that she became more tranquil and an introvert. She was different but at the same time, they could see their daughter in Laura’s eyes.
She became a gentle caretaker of the pets and a proficient vet. Then, something extraordinary happened. The house her parents had sold to repay the neighbor, returned to them as a gift, even the part of the shop that they also gave away for the medical treatment, also returned to them.]
“Moira?”
‘… it was Callum,’ Moira signaled and gave the Princess a picture. It was Callum and the family of three. He looked as expressionless as ever and the family was beaming with happiness, even Laura that had also included the pets of the shop into the picture. Even Gandalf and Shadow were there.
“Mmm… impressive,” Anne nodded again at the picture. The Laura girl was quite a good competitor, she had gained the good side of Gandalf, Shadow, Callum, and Moria. Just that meant a lot of things for the competition.
“Princess Anne,” Adam Robinson was eating his second plate with a piece of lemon cake with the rest of the students seated around the tables eating and chatting happily. “Why did you come here? Weren’t you accepted at the Economics Faculty?”
“No,” she said with sincere eyes. “They didn’t let me in.”
Anne said as she ate the rest of her tart.
“Why? How is that possible?”
“They beg me.”
“What?”
“They begged me to let them off and come to the faculty only to teach and only after several years,” Anne wanted to send them some puppies to help them calm down as she was rather cruel the past few days. Only the absence of Henry can turn her into a raging monster.
[After a year, Laura Hughes received two invitations, one to enter the Academy as a scholarship student of the medical path. Her parents were elated and wanted for her to accept. She was also looking forward to doing that but then… she received another invitation, a blue envelope. Someone from the north had taken interest in her. The School of Medics on the North.
The Hughes couple was happy for her, but they didn’t want to send their daughter to the north where the weather was difficult for a fragile lady like their daughter.
“…”
However, as they were sending the letter of acceptance to the Academy, a person descended from his carriage and stopped them. The witnesses of that event only saw how the man that looked like a soldier told them some words, and they went pale with fear.
Whatever they told them made them desist to let her daughter go to the Academy and instead, she went to the north to study. From then on… no one had news about her. Only weekly letters to her parents or so the neighbors said.
After another year, the parents that couldn’t stand being apart from their daughter, sold everything, their house, their shop, everything to a good friend and traveled to the north. No one knew about their true intention, though.]
“Where is she?” Anne asked. However, the one answering was not Moira, nor Gandalf, but the Principal of the Academy, Adam Robinson.
“I can’t tell you,” he said in a grave tone.
“Why?”
“Because she didn’t want to tell anyone,” he sighed and looked away with a painful frown. “She is not the same gentle and caring girl… not after what they did to her and her parents.”
Anne furrowed her eyes and fisted her hand. She knew now who will be the most difficult threat of them all. Greed and ambition were easy to defeat, but what Laura wanted is revenge.
