The Queen’s Avatar - Chapter 14 Frozen Palace 2
“1 minute, I can’t guarantee I will be able to stall him out any longer.” Not even knowing why herself, Xuelian felt as if she could trust Ye Xiu thus she immediately went along with his plan.
However, it wasn’t as easy as running into the boss’ aggro radius, waking it up and running back towards them. When the Kobolds sensed that Snow Lotus was intending to alert the boss, they immediately switched aggro onto her. But her steps didn’t falter, unsheathing her Infernal Saber, she continued to advance towards the Kobolds that formed a wall in an attempt to block her way. While the others were fending off the other Kobolds, their eyes landed on Snow Lotus, stunned by Xuelian’s resolution, the sight was marvelous as if it were a scene from a movie.
Yet beyond the beautiful moment, Xuelian was incredibly focused, there was a weak spot in the barricade!
Dragging her mouse across the mousepad, her saber quivered as a strong surge of energy coursed through her blade, shooting out rays of light that made it seem as if it was hail.
Within an instant, numerous sword lights erupted from the tip of her sword, leaving only a misty trace of its intent.
Triple Slash! Lunar Ray! Lunge!
The sword rays spun as they approached the barricade made of Kobolds.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Explosions resounded like thunder in succession, creating a dent in the formation the Kobolds had set up, and unwilling to waste the opportunity she created, Snow Lotus propelled herself off the ground shooting herself through the small gap with immense speed.
Before the Kobolds even realized what had happened, Snow Lotus vanished into thin air as they looked around cluelessly.
Not bothering to even turning around, Snow Lotus continued with her plan, only giving a few words to Ye Xiu. “The rest is up to you.”
Snow Lotus continued to inch towards the aggro radius of the first boss, and as soon as she stepped into the area, the boss woke up in anger, looking around to find whoever had disturbed his slumber. “ROOOAR!”
[Warning! You have awoken the first boss of Frozen Palace, Crystalline Yeti Jotunn.]
As his eyes shifted from one area to another, the Yeti suddenly caught sight of Snow Lotus as he immediately targeted Xuelian in rage.
Luckily, because of Glory’s animation, it took a few seconds for the boss to wake up and find her, thus she was already on her way towards the second and final boss.
“Now isn’t the time, once I wake up the Ice Empress, I’ll have my fun with you.” Turning around for a split second, Snow Lotus quickly lifted her sword as it trembled amidst the winds before sending a dazzling ray of light towards the Crystalline Yeti.
BOOM!
Upon impact, the ray of light exploded in the thick fur of the Yeti, allowing Snow Lotus to launch backwards due to the recoil while creating massive amount of dust in the process.
“ROOOAR…” Despite her attack, the Yeti continued chasing, as the explosion had only increased his anger.
After what seemed like an eternity, the Yeti realized that he couldn’t catch up to Xuelian, thus he lifted his club upwards, smashing it down onto the floor with immense strength as the ground trembled, leaving ruptures and cracks on the ice.
Seeing this, Xuelian couldn’t help but curse inwardly. “Dammit, he has such strength as is still able to run that fast! Wasn’t Glory supposed to be a realistic game?!”
Still Xuelian had never stopped moving her hands even when she was complaining, turn after turn, she continued to move towards the different sections of the Frozen Palace, trying her best to dodge the attacks from the Yeti behind her. In terms of speed, the boss was faster, but because Xuelian knew how to utilize her abilities and terrain to widen the distance, she was able to come out on top.
Bam!
Suddenly, a thud resounded as Xuelian jolted in shock. Everything was flowing smoothly and Xuelian was just about to have Snow Lotus take another turn when she suddenly hit a wall, immediately crying out! “Not good!”
BOOM!
After hitting the wall and falling onto the ground, the Yeti finally caught up and at last landed an attack on Snow Lotus, causing her health to immediately plummet, only having 10% of her original health.
But Xuelian’s reaction wasn’t slow as she immediately chugged down a health potion, instantly healing her back up to 90%.
However, her problems hadn’t ended yet. She had hit a dead end, and there was only one way to leave, but the exit was blocked by the Yeti! Because he was enraged earlier on, the Yeti immediately swung his club towards Snow Lotus.
Quick-roll!
Seeing that the club was about to land on her, Xuelian immediately had Snow Lotus crouch down, before rolling to the side.
Quick-roll was a technique used to evade an attack on the ground, while allowing the user to quickly get back onto his feet afterwards, although it wasn’t hard to pull off, it still required some technique. In every situation, there were different factors and various ways you could utilize a quick-roll which was what made the technique extremely useful, a pro-player would be able to use such a technique to its highest efficacy.
Clenching her teeth, Xuelian casted a Lunar Ray towards the side of the ice-covered wall, creating a small dent, the size of her shoe.
Boom!
Due to the casting time of Lunar Ray, the Yeti was able to land another attack on Snow Lotus, nearly wiping her out. Luckily, Xuelian had anticipated such an attack and managed to parry the swing on the last second, leaving no margin for error. Had she parried too early or too late, there was no doubt that she would be killed.
Quickly drinking another health potion, she took a giant leap and used lunge towards the side, stabbing her Infernal Saber onto the opposite wall across from the dent she had created earlier. Unfortunately, she had to let go, otherwise the boss would of landed another hit which would of knocked her down and take fall damage on top of everything else.
Upon falling, Xuelian did another quick-roll, jumping back onto her feet before running in a zig-zag motion.
Z-Shake!
This was a movement technique that required lots of practice, especially to use in actual combat, the user would have to have perfect coordination with his eyes, fingers and hand. Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.
Evading the swings from the Yeti, before giving a chance for him to cast a special spell, Snow Lotus gathered all her strength around her two legs, before unleashing it all.
Falling Light Blade!
Although she had no weapon, the game would still allow her to cast such a spell, only the damage would be close to 0. But what she wanted was precisely the jump effect.
Claak!
Upon taking a giant leap, she managed to jam one of her feet into the dent she had created earlier using Lunar Ray, but it wasn’t over yet! Quickly using her strength to perform another jump once more, she darted towards the opposite wall, landing on the blade of her sword in which was sticking out from the wall.
“Continue!”
Once more, she took another jump, performing 3 consecutive jumps in total, also executing a frontflip in the end as well.
First, she jumped onto the dent of the wall, then onto her sword, before taking the final leap and executing a frontflip over the Yeti’s head, allowing her to get behind the first boss.
And without hesitation, she immediately made a run for it.
She didn’t have her weapon anymore! But that was the least of her worries as she still needed to wake up the second boss.
Fortunately, this time, Xuelian hadn’t run into any dead ends, allowing her to finally enter the aggro radius of the second boss, waking it up from its slumber.
[Warning! You have awoken the final boss, Ice Empress Evelynn.]
“It’s done! But I’m going to need you to clear the path, I lost my sword.” Xuelian made haste as she told Ye Xiu the predicament she was in, if all the Kobolds blocked her way again, she wasn’t going to be able to break through like last time.
Hearing her words, Ye Xiu was baffled. “Lost your sword?” Because he had to deal with the hundreds of Kobolds that spawned when Snow Lotus woke up the two bosses, even he didn’t have time to be careless and look away, thus he was totally clueless of Xuelian’s situation.
But he didn’t pry further and immediately bolted towards the direction Xuelian was in, slaughtering as many Kobolds as he could.
Meanwhile, the three players from Holy Heaven were absolutely shocked! “She actually managed to wake up both bosses!”
Pu, pu, pu, pu
Blood spurted out as four more Kobolds laid dead. Although Casting Winds was shocked as well, he knew that now wasn’t the time to lose focus. “In any case, we are now on the same boat, come on!”
Hearing his friend’s voice, Great Insight shouted aloud as if his character suddenly grew an extra arm. “Ahhh, f*ck it! This young beauty will continue to play!”
“For Glory!” All three players shouted aloud simultaneously.
…
Xuelian on the other hand was silently praying that she would at least survive until everyone regrouped, but it seemed like heaven had different plans.
Along with the Crystalline Yeti that was chasing her, the Ice Empress was bombarding Snow Lotus with ranged attacks. Even for a pro-player, they would have difficulty evading everything, let alone Xuelian who hadn’t played the game for 2 years, it was already astonishing that she was still alive. It just wasn’t possible to dodge everything!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Xuelian’s camera angle rapidly spun and shook, as she continued dodging everything to the best of her ability, even looking at the screen would make someone nauseated, but Xuelian continued to stare at the screen, afraid she would be struck with a debuff potion from the witch if she blinked or even looked away.
Sadly, simply trying your best was sometimes not enough.
Clink!
When she was still in the middle of turning around, Xuelian suddenly heard a glass bottle break behind her.
“Ah…” Her hands stopped moving as she knew what had happened even without looking at her screen.
Paralyzation…
The Ice Empress had managed to throw a flask in one of her dead angles that paralyzed her, causing her to be stunned for 3 seconds.
Three seconds was more than enough to kill her.
“I guess… this is it. Sorry.” Taking in a deep breath, she spoke to Ye Xiu, letting him know that she had failed.
Xuelian seemed as if she was lost in thought when she saw the Yeti pouncing on her with his club, smashing down right onto her avatar.
Yet just when the club was about to land on her, Xuelian suddenly saw a figure that shot through the air, striking her before the Yeti had done so, causing her to fly towards the side.
Although Xuelian didn’t know what happened, since she was still alive, she would continue playing!
As long as one was alive and had a chance of survival, there was always hope!
Swiftly standing back up, she finally turned her camera around and caught a glimpse of the character’s name.
Lord Grim!
“What, did you think I would let you do everything? Relax!” Ye Xiu voice resounded into Xuelian’s ears as he let out a small chuckle.
Seeing who it finay was, Xuelian let out a sigh In relief. “Haha, you’re late!”
