The Queen’s Avatar - Chapter 8 Rising Phoenix Peak 3
Deep inside the forest, powerful explosions could be heard as two figures jumped onto the next tree, one falling behind them every second.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
“I’m afraid kiting out the Fire Witch like this isn’t gonna work. It’s gonna take hours to clear this dungeon, frankly, I don’t have the time.” Xuelian’s hands were already sweating.
Nearly an hour had past and they have only cleared 15% of the Witch’s health!
If they kept the pace they were going at, it would take about 7 hours! And that was speaking in a conservative manner, they were to be exhausted soon enough which would make them go at a slower pace.
They couldn’t keep going on like this! If they didn’t find a solution, the duo would have no choice but to give up clearing the dungeon.
Xuelian was already thinking that it was the better option. If they were to clear this dungeon, there was no doubt that they would be broadcasted on TV, and if that were to happen…
It would cause an endless amount of unnecessary troubles.
Just when they were about to quit the dungeon, Xuelian saw something out of the corner of her eye. There was a small crevice in the wall!
An idea suddenly popped up into Xuelian’s head as her mind started spinning with ideas on how to utilize this.
If she could trap the Fire Witch in the small crevice, they would have no problem clearing it out in about an hour.
They wouldn’t have to worry about dodging and could just focus on DPSing the boss.
“Wait, there’s a way. But it depends if we can make it work.” Xuelian told Ye Xiu about what she saw, emphasizing that trapping the Fire Witch in the crevice was the only solution.
“There’s actually something like that here?” Ye Xiu couldn’t believe it, asking in bewilderment.
Only after looking over the coordinates of the crevice did he realize that Xuelian wasn’t lying. It could work!
The only problem was luring the Fire Witch over there.
“What do you think, can we lure and trap the Witch into the little opening?” Although they were two experienced players, with the limited amount of skills they currently had, it was still going to be an exhausting task to pull off.
“En, although we may have to try a couple times, it is ultimately the only solution. Besides, I doubt that with your skills, we won’t be able to trap it!” Ye Xiu was confident as he evaluated the distance and size of the crevice.
Because the crevice was in the side of the wall, he had to send the Fire Witch flying into mid-air before somehow sending the Witch directly downwards into the hole.
“Okay, let’s give it a try.” Xuelian started circling around the crevice along with the Fire Witch chasing her.
Even though it had been nearly an hour already, Xuelian was still able to keep her health bar above 70% with only the little healing Snow Lotus received from Lord Grim.
This already showed that she was an outstanding player. Besides, how long had the two of them been playing together that their coordination was already looking smooth?
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
More explosions could be heard as the Fire Witch threw potions on potions behind Snow Lotus, although she was able to evade most of them, some had still managed to hit her, applying debuffs and damage.
“Hey, how long do I have to keep circling, if you don’t do something, I may just actually die!” Xuelian couldn’t help but urge Ye Xiu upon seeing her health bar drop below 50%.
“I can’t get a good angle!” Ye Xiu was helpless as well, it wasn’t like he didn’t do anything in the past 10 minutes, there just wasn’t any good opportunities to send it flying at the right spot.
However, before Ye Xiu had finished his sentence, his eyes suddenly brightened. Lord Grim’s who was now holding a cannon in his left hands suddenly closed in on the boss entering close combat range.
Swing!
Grabbing his weapon with both hands, Lord Grim swung in an upwards motion, knocking the Fire Witch into mid-air.
Although the Witch was only knocked off the ground, it was still enough to use as leverage to follow up with his next step.
Grasping the chance, Lord Grim rapidly fired out bullets below the Fire Witch, sending the Witch flying higher.
“Here’s our chance!” Continuing his onslaught, Ye Xiu had used his bullets to send the Fire Witch flying in the direction of the crevice where Snow Lotus was currently standing.
“Damn! Delivery Gun?!” Just who was this guy?! Delivery Gun was a technique that only top tier players who had mastered the Gunner subclass could do, even then it was still extremely difficult to pull off.
Once had to hit a specific area multiple times to send the boss flying, and it had to be done in mid-air! That wasn’t all, if you wanted to continue sending him onwards, you had to hit the target at a different location multiple times repeatedly.
Doing these two steps continuously wasn’t something one could do with luck. If you hit the wrong area even once, the boss would be able to grasp the small opening and turn the tables. If there was even a slight error in timing, the boss would eventually be able to be freed from your grasp.

This was the ultimate godly technique, Delivery Gun that even amongst the pro-scene, only a select few top tier pro’s could do…
Just when Xuelian had saw the opportunity, she saw that Ye Xiu kept on firing. That was when she realized he had overthought. If it were anyone else, perhaps Ye Xiu would have to put additional effort into sending the Fire Witch closer to the crevice, but who was she?
Although not in name, she was the captain of a championship team! She was someone who was also at the top, her skills definitely couldn’t be underestimated.
Thinking that she would be able to give Ye Xiu the same amount of shock he gave her, a slight smirk blossomed on her face as Snow Lotus did a powerful leap from the side of the wall before darting upwards towards the boss.
This was her time to shine! A master of grasping the flow and turning the tides, she was able to take every advantage and turn it into something greater, this was why her opponents always had a hard time dealing with her back in Korea.
If they made a mistake and Xuelian was free to interrupt any of them, there was nothing they could do to stop her and the tides would immediately change.
She was given the nickname “Unparalleled Queen” precisely because of this fact.
“Ah? Slow down, there’s still quite a large distance.” Ye Xiu couldn’t help but panic a bit, seeing that Snow Lotus was already plunging into the boss.
“Haha, you should have also realized that this spot gave us the best chances of trapping the boss, no? Are you telling me to let it go? Don’t underestimate me!’
Although Xuelian had boasted a bit of her skills, she was undoubtedly focused. It wasn’t wrong to say she wasn’t confident, afterall she had left Glory for 2 years! She could only rely on her experience and instincts to pull it off.
Triple Slash!
Snow Lotus shot three rays of light in a straight line that pierced the witch, before stabbing directly into the stomach of the Witch.
Gripping her sword that was jabbed into the Fire Witch’s body, her hand shook as she managed to drag it upwards, across the Witch’s neck who was still in mid-air.
Finally managing to climb on top of the Witch, Snow Lotus immediately charged up all her MP, slicing downwards in an extremely powerful manner.
Falling Light Blade!
Blue rays of light enveloped Snow Lotus’ blade as she madly swung downwards, creating a ninety degree arc.
BOOM!
The Fire Witch was sent flying upon impact from the tip of Snow Lotus’ sword.
Xuelian immediately had Snow Lotus following, launching herself with a lunge downwards directly towards the Fire Witch as well.
“Please, make it!” If Xuelian couldn’t reach the boss in time, changing its course of movement before the Fire Witch hit the ground, then all their work would have been wasted, and they could only start over from there.
“Let this be the first and only time, make it!”
Pu, Pu, BOOM!
The boss was faced with two cold streaks of light before crashing into the crevice on collision with her stabs.
She had done it. The Fire Witch was now trapped inside the crevice unable to move.
Beyond excited, she praised herself as she couldn’t help but clap her hands, only realizing that Ye Xiu was looking at her with an odd expression.
Letting out a slight cough, Xuelian tried to ease the awkwardness. “Cough cough. Why are you looking at me like that? Never seen a blademaster as good as me before?”
Upon seeing her boastful smu, Ye Xiu clicked his tongue turning back to his computer while ignoring her antics, as Lord Grim started to barrage the Fire Witch with skills and bullets.
“Hmpf.” Pouting a bit because Ye Xiu didn’t give or a compliment to her or seem surprised at her abilities, she soon followed suit, controlling Snow Lotus to start attacking the boss.
While attacking the boss, neither of them talked, as though they understood each other thoughts. This silence and peacefulness which seemed awkward at the time actually brought them closer.
In the world of Glory, it truly was a beautiful moment, as if they could sense the desire of one another. Their struggles, happiness, and sorrow.
This was Glory. A game that sparked a burning desire in players while connecting them in the most various and unique ways.
Immersing themselves in Glory for another 30 minutes, the two of them soon escaped from their realities as if letting go their sorrow from playing Glory before, it seemed as if they knew they both had gained and suffered from Glory.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Pu, pu, pu!
Finally after another 25 minutes, the Fire Witch had fallen, an announcement broadcasting through the server once more, this time, truly shocking everyone.
The major guilds realized that the two of them were not as lucky as they thought they were, yet they also felt an ominous feeling.
The game was going to be turned upside-down soon.
[System Announcement: Congratulations for the party of 2, Lord Grim and Snow Lotus for obtaining the first kill of the Fire Witch]
[System Announcement: Congratulations to the party of 2, Lord Grim and Snow Lotus for obtaining the first clear of the Rising Phoenix Peak.]
The announcement showered the global chat as well as the screens of every player logged on in the 10th server.
“F*CK, THE TWO OF THEM ACTUALLY MANAGED TO CLEAR THE DUNGEON?!”
“T-t-this…they have to be hacking! There’s no other way!”
“F*CK, I’m reporting them right now!”
…
The 10th server soon entered a frenzy state as everyone was curious about the identities of the two players, how they managed to clear it, and whether they were hacking or not.
However, not even a minute later after the announcement went up, the chatroom that the big guild leaders had set up started to fill up again.
“F*ck me! How did they clear it?”
“Hey, Old Blue, what do you think of the situation now?”
Seeing that he was called out by Plantago Seed of Herb Garden, he thought for a minute before replying.
“Isn’t there only one way to find out?”
“You’re saying…” Plantago Seed was surprised, but after pondering for a bit, he realized that it shouldn’t be surprising at all! The storms these two players had created definitely attracted the attention of all the players.
“Haha, the Blue Brook guild will take lead first this time.”
“Sh*t, you two don’t even know if they’re cheating or not! Don’t you guys know patience is the key to success?” Chen Yehui couldn’t help but advise them.
“Haha, I say, Old Chen, aren’t you ashamed of yourself? You’re saying this only to reach out to him first right?” The guild leader of Tyrannical Ambition couldn’t help but call him out as he despised dirty tricks. He much preferred the power of brute strength.
“We have no choice but to be patient, the two of them had aren’t accepting any friend requests at the moment.” While the four of them were arguing, the guild leader of the Samsara spoke up, alerting the four of them.
“Shit, you already tried to get in contact, I say, aren’t you the most shameless on here?”
“Hmph, if I were to wait for you guys to finish arguing, the sun would have set already!”
Other few minor guilds soon joined the conversation, trying to figure out the identity and backing off the two players.
They had already sent some players to do a background check on the players, to see if they had played in previous servers.
