The Quick Story Of A Super Strong Reincarnator - Chapter 3 First Battle
I drew my sword and waited for it to make its move. The bear seemed to have intelligence compared to that of a human. It stared at me without charging at me. It was surprising, how the beast was using technique rather than brute force. I felt that it was watching my every move, scouting my strength.
I knew that I shouldn’t be impatient. I put a step back and took a defensive stance. I had taken fencing lessons as a child back home. I did it because I was bored. Turned out that I had talent in the field. I topped the junior category and was able to defeat many masters. I left it when I entered university, but now it was showing it’s worth.
I put my sword in front of me. Clutching it with both hands. I did a few breathing exercises to calm my mind. I observed the bear as it got down to four legs.
Normally, four legs are used by animals to run. My gut told me to get out of the way. I realized it too, but I knew the time wasn’t ripe yet.
The bear charged towards me. The ground was trembling. When the bear was just a few meters from me, I jumped to my left.
The bear couldn’t control its body, and in its unsuccessful attempt, fell down.
I rushed forward to take advantage of the situation. I pierced my sword into the tough hide of the bear, which was too thick. My sword only went a few centimeters in. One has to know that the hide is 3 inches thick in these types of bears.
I cursed at my bad luck as the bear had been very angered at my actions. The provoked beast got up and charged at me like a wild bull.
I leaped gracefully and landed on a tree. The bear stared at me from the ground. I thought that it would leave since it couldn’t do anything to me. I was wrong.
The bear tried to tear the tree down. I leaped onto another tree, and the bear followed me. I knew that this couldn’t continue any longer. I needed a plan. Since I couldn’t pierce through the tough hide, I figured that I needed to find it’s weak spot.
I got down from my tree and stepped forward. When the bear faced me, I got ready for the confrontation. The bear rushed forward, and it was at this moment that I sidestepped and moved forward. I then pierced my sword through the back of the bear’s back.
My luck was very bad that day. The back was equally as tough to pierce as the hide I tried to pierce previously.
I had to know how to pierce the skin, and I know it real quick. My mind was processing very quickly, as I had to dodge the attacks of the bear, formulate a plan to kill it, and look for openings to injure it. I hoped that blood loss would make the bear weaker.
I was using the footwork I learned during my earlier days. I dodged the bear repeatedly. The bear was getting infuriated. It started getting more unpredictable. It was too much of brute force like an animal and less like a human.
I knew that it would be less effective against me, which was a good thing.
I jumped up on a tree, and using one of its branches as a sling, I shot myself toward the bear. I put my sword in front of me and slammed it down, sharp side down, into the bear. It, coincidentally, struck the same injury I made first.
The bear howled in pain as I tried to make some distance between us. It came towards me and swung it’s paw full force. I jumped back to dodge it but it got a slight contact. That small amount of force sent me dozens of meters away in seconds. I was crumpled by the sheer force of the bear.
I quickly got up. Even if the pain was killing me, I had to get away or I would get killed. Really killed.
I leaped on to a tree and I concealed myself in the branches. The bear was looking around in the area I was in. It was destroying trees looking for me.
I thought quickly. “If that is the impact force of a Type 5, what about a Type 6? Even if this is a peak Type 5, which I don’t know it is, any Type 6 would defeat this bear easily. And the possibility of me finding a stage 60 beast instead of a stage 69 beast is not acceptable.”
I decided to train for a lot of time before venturing out again. But first, I had to deal with the situation I had in hand, which is going out of control.
Then it struck me. All or most beasts didn’t have super strong bellies. Well at least in my world. The beasts here were very similar to those back at home. Except for the fact that they were bigger and stronger. The chance of me killing the bear by piercing the stomach was very high.
I prepared myself. I put in all the wood power I could summon into my sword. I even compressed it into a short sword, hoping that it would mean more power. Finally, I looked up to the sky, hoping that the gods might bless me.
Seeing nothing happen, I stepped in front of the bear and initiated our final round of battling. Either he lives, or I do.
I charged forward. The bear roared and did the same. When the bear was a few meters away, I skidded down, so that I could reach its belly.
When I felt contact, I pushed my dagger in, and the dagger cut through the belly like it was mud. I lay there, as the bear went forward and crashed. It was dead, and I killed it.
