The Rebirth Of Feng Xi - Volume 1 Chapter 108 Auction Street
People would sell their items for millions of yuan. Because of this, there was one rule of this place. No returns. This meant that if you bought something for a few million yuan and when you brought it to an appraiser and found that it not to be worth anything then it was your own bad luck. This rule was unspoken and very well followed. So there were rarely any clashes between people over this matter.
Feng Xi walked down this alley looking at each shop, but she was not really finding anything of interest. Even after searching the shops she still found nothing of interest. Giving a sigh of disappointment, Feng Xi was just about to leave when she saw an old man sitting on a blanket with a few items in front of him. She walked over and saw a tightly sealed tube. Which caught her interest. “Grandpa, how much do you want for this tube?”
“Sorry, but you will need to find something else since I am buying this item!” A middle aged woman in a bright red dress that only went down to her knees suddenly said from behind Feng Xi. She did not even give the old man a chance to answer Feng Xi before demanding the item.
Of course, Feng Xi was never going to let something she had laid her eyes on first go just like that. “Grandpa, how much is it?”
Seeing Feng Xi blatantly ignore the middle aged woman made the old man smile as he said: “Little lady since you called me grandpa this old tube belongs to you now.”
“Wait! I said I wanted this item and it will leave with me today. Old sir, I can give you ten million yuan for it right here and now.” The middle aged woman said grabbing Feng Xi’s extended wrist.
Feng Xi frowned as she looked at the hand on her wrist. She reached up with her other hand and grabbed the middle aged woman’s arm and squeezed tightly causing the middle aged woman to scream out in pain. She then tossed the woman away from her before coldly saying: “I do not know who you are or what makes you think that you have the right to lay your hands on me. But do not think I am easily bullied just because I am young. Auntie the item was already given to me and you wish to snatch away from a junior. Do you not have any shame? I mean in front of all these people you actually dared to act all high and mighty as if you own this street, but let me tell you now that the only one who owns this street is the imperial family. Are you trying to go against the imperial family by claiming you own this street? Doesn’t this make you a traitor to our great China?”
“You! What nonsense are you speaking?” The middle aged woman was given a fright. She had no idea how her trying to steal an item for this young lady had suddenly turned into her becoming a traitor to China and going against the imperial family!
“Oh am I wrong? Then I must apologize because your actions just now seemed to imply that. I will be taking my item now. You have a good day Auntie.” Feng Xi smiled brightly as she reached down and took the tube. She then fished out a small envelope from her bag and handed it to the old man. “Grandpa take this and see a doctor soon.”She then turned and walked away.
The old man’s eyes widened when he heard Feng Xi’s words. He had no idea how the little girl knew that he was ill! He then opened the envelope and almost dropped it when he looked inside. Tears welled up in his eyes as his hands began to shake. He quickly stashed away the envelope and gathered his things, leaving the area as quickly as possible. Feng Xi waved her hand at one of the hidden guards who had been following her. On top of a building not too far away a man in a black suit turned and followed after the old man.
Feng Xi knew with how the old man probably reacted that he would end up being targeted. She had given the old man fifty million yuan in banknotes. The reason why she bought the tube was because in her past life she had seen on the news that someone had picked up this tube for a few million yuan and then auctioned it off for over one billion yuan. The tube itself was only worth a few million yuan but the item of the tube was priceless.
The item was a map drawn up by none other than the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. It was a lost historical relic. Many avid collectors would do anything to get their hands on it. Meaning they would spend as much money as they needed in order to obtain it. Feng Xi decided she would give this to Emperor Tian as filial piety. She was sure that Emperor Tian would love it. Plus she owed the Emperor a lot for all the help he had given her father and her. Such good acts should be returned tenfold. Feng Xi did not lack money and she did not want to keep such a historical relic when it would just end up being stuck on ashelf somewhere. She would rather someone take it that would fully appreciate it.
As Feng Xi was just about to step out onto the main street a female voice came up from behind her once again. “Wait right there! I must have that tube!”
