The Rebirth Of Feng Xi - Volume 1 Chapter 122 Offering Asylum
Sitting in a side room Princess Adela slowly calmed down. The Qiu sisters stood by the door making sure she did not leave. The door opened and Feng Xi walked in with Prince Jin in tow. “Princess Adela, I will just call you Adela from now on. From what I can tell you like my husband but it seems that someone behind the scenes instigated this right?”
Princess Adela nodded her head as she spoke: “Claire would always tell me how kind and great Prince Jin was. Ever since two years ago I was told I would be marrying him when I reached of age. When I was told that Prince Jin had married, Claire told me that I had to go to China and fight you for his love. As the person being led by her nose and not knowing anything, I blindly followed what I was told. In my mind, I knew it was wrong to steal another’s husband but I also felt at the time that the man I was supposed to marry was stolen from me which made me say and do the things I did today Princess Xi, I am truly sorry for what I have said and done,I even did tha…”
“Stop! Don’t say any more. We will forget about this incident. But I suggest you do not leave China any time soon. You will be safe here in the academy. There is no need for you to worry too much on anything else right now. I have already taken out my anger on your face so we can just call everything even now.” Feng Xi felt bad for Princess Adela since she was basically manipulated by people who did not care about her one bit and wanted to use her for their own goals. This reminded her of herself in her past life. Feng Xi only thought up to this point and had no idea what else to do since there were still a lot of things not accounted for. “Jin’er what do you think?”
“Well I can talk to Father Emperor and see if we can allow her to gain asylum here in China. From there it would be up to her on what she wants to do.We will also make sure she has a place to live as well. I will also send a few teachers to properly teach Miss Adela on the ways of the world.” Prince Jin could tell Feng Xi took pity on Princess Adela. Which was why he decided to help her so she could live like a normal person.
“This works. Adela are you okay with what we have offered?” Feng Xi asked.
“Yes. Thank you.” Princess Adela bowed her head. She was truly grateful for what they were willing to do even after she had caused such a commotion.
“I will also appoint a few of my mercenaries as your guard until we find suitable substitutes. I have a feeling whoever is behind this will not just stop after a failed attempt. They may still target your life and set it up to look like it was done by some official or noble. All in order to start a war or for some other reason that we do not know of yet. We will also get you some servants to help you with your daily needs.” Feng Xi decided she would do what she could for Princess Adela until the time came where she would be able to stand on her own two feet. She hoped after being properly educated on the world she would be able to live a proper life.
With everything settled Feng Xi saw Princess Adela out before heading back to her room. Prince Jin was in the middle of changing when she walked in. She walked up to him and slid her arms around his body, hugging him. “Jin’er Thank god nothing serious happened…”
Prince Jin let out a sigh and hugged Feng Xi gently rubbing her back. “For now on we will need to have people posted near our room at all times. They do not need to be right up by the door but close enough to keep guard over the room and make sure no one can sneak in like they did tonight. Luckily it was a woman who did so otherwise the person who touched you and those behind them would not live to see another day.”
“Mmm…” Feng Xi slightly trembled at the thought of a man other than Prince Jin touching her. Just the thought of it scared her.
That night Feng Xi would not let go of Prince Jin for even a second. She basically slept curled up on top of Prince Jin’s body with him holding her in his arms. He did not utter a single word of complaint because he knew tonight’s event scared Feng Xi.
The next morning Feng Xi and Prince Jin left their courtyard to be met with Princess Adela waiting for them right outside their courtyard gates. “Princess Xi, do you mind if I walk with you? I wish to speak with you for a moment if that is okay.”
Prince Jin looked at Feng Xi who nodded her head. He nodded back and began walking towards his class. Feng Xi smiled at Adela as she said: “Let’s walk while we talk so we are not late for class.”
As they walked Princess Adela seemed to be trying to get her thoughts in order. Feng Xi could see this and did not rush Princess Adela to talk, she just waited patiently for her to say what she wanted to say. It was only after a few minutes before Princess Adela finally opened her mouth. “I want to say thank you once again and also apologize once more. I have caused nothing but trouble for you and your husband. Even though I have caused many troubles I was hoping that maybe just maybe if you forgive me enough, I was wondering if you would be willing to become my friend…”
