- Volume 1 Chapter 93 Feng Xis Seventeenth Birthday Part One
As the days, weeks, and months passed, it was finally time for Feng Xi’s seventeenth birthday. Unfortunately, she had to spend it while in bed. The skin grafts had been taking longer than expected and after each operation, she had to heal before she could do the next one. Luckily Prince Jin had spent the entire time with her. He moved right into her hospital room making sure she would never feel lonely. Even Heavens Fall Academy had teachers going to Prince Jin’s palace just to make sure she could pass onto the next grade.
But even with all the discomfort, Feng Xi never felt bored. Prince Jin had made sure every day was filled with something new. Along with Dai Fen always bringing her reports and new proposals she had been quite busy. The most grateful thing of all was the fact that she was able to still be alive with the people she loved and that loved her back. Even Lu Tao had stopped by to let her finalize the exchange of companies.
But on this day everything was set up for her to be able to celebrate her seventeenth birthday. Prince Jin had secretly arranged it all. Prince Jin had even arranged to get a special wheelchair made so that Feng Xi could leave her room for the first time in months. In a long white one piece dress with a large brim hat, Feng Xi who was being pushed by Prince Jin out into the main hall, eyes widened at the sight of the decorations on the wall. The hall was filled with the people from her Mercenary group, her gaming company, her father with Fang Ai, Grandpa Feng and even the Emperor himself had shown up. There was also another beautiful woman at the Emperor’s side.
“Jin’er When did you?” Feng Xi had tears welling up in her eyes. She had never expected so many people would show up to celebrate her birthday like this. In her past life, she never had such an extravagant birthday. Feng Shun was always dealing with things in the military so Jiang Yi would set things up. She was just used to getting a cake and only having Jiang Yi and Feng Lan there to celebrate her birthday. But now that she thought about it, Feng Lan’s birthdays were always very extravagant. This thought made Feng Xi want to slap herself for her own stupidity. Why would one daughter get a very small birthday while the other daughter got a large one? Why had she never noticed any of this before?
But if she had done so. Then she most likely would have never met the man she loved. If such things had not happened in her past life and she was given a chance to relive her life she would have never met Prince Jin.
Prince Jin smiled cheekily as he said: “Surprised huh! I have been putting this together for the past month. Even Father Emperor worked hard to clear up his schedule so he could be here.”
A bright smile formed on Feng Xi’s face as she said: “Jin’er, thank you! I love it!”
“If it’s for my Xi’er it does not matter what you ask for I will make it happen for you. As long as it will make you happy.” Prince Jin said as he leaned down kissing Feng Xi’s lips. “Happy birthday Xi’er!”
Emperor Tian walked up withthe beautiful woman on his arm as she said: “Haha! One more year older and one year less that I will need to wait to see my grandson!”
Feng Xi let out a laugh as she said: “As it is now if I had a baby he might come out bald.” Feng Xi had gotten used to not having hair. She still had a few months before she could get the surgery that would help her regrow her hair. Her first recovery time was supposed to be six months. But after many tests and surgeries, she still had a ways to go. She was still looking at almost six more months before she could finally be considered healed.
“It doesn’t matter if they are bald just as long as I can hold my grandchild soon I’ll be happy.” Emperor Tian chuckled as he replied. He then pushed the woman next to him forward. The woman was very beautiful. Ever since Feng Xi saw her she had a feeling she recognized this woman from somewhere but she couldn’t really figure out from where. She seemed to resemble someone close to her. As Feng Xi’s brain turned she finally realized it when she turned to look at Prince Jin’s face. For some reason, Feng Xi started to become nervous.
Emperor Tian saw the change in Feng Xi’s demeanor and smiled: “It seems you know who this beautiful woman is. Even still I will introduce her. She is the Empress of China, Tan Lingxin. She is Jin’er’s birth mother.”
Feng Xi bowed her head as best as she could as she said: “I am sorry I can not get up to give you proper respects. But it is a pleasure to meet you.”
Empress Lingxin stepped forward and quickly grabbed Feng Xi’s hands causing Feng xi to look up at the smiling woman “Silly child, Not only did you put yourself in harm’s way to try to snake out those who are trying to bring down the imperial family but you also used your own body to shield Jin’er. Your love and devotion to my son are enough to see you as my own daughter and as family, there is no need for such things as paying respects. As Jin’er’s mother, I owe you so much. I know you and Jin’er will have many more happy days that will cancel out this horrible time you have had to go through.”
Empress Lingxin leaned in closed and whispered: “I hope to hold my beautiful grandchildren soon too. When the time comes I will supply you with many fertility tonics and stamina tonics for Jin’er.”
